I use a 4080 with practically every AC setting maxed out, but 3D trees still look like giant cel-shaded cabbages with bad LOD morphing to me. Is there a way to make them look like actual trees, and ones that are lit like the rest of the environment instead of the high contrast super-saturated monstrosities we currently endure?

Either the tools and assets currently aren't fit for purpose, they're not being implemented properly, or there are settings somewhere that make 3D trees look good for some people but triffid-like for others.

Or they really are awful but people feel compelled to use them because 'progress'.
@Beezer215 @Fall Guy
I wasn't trying to be facetious with this post, BTW.
I'd genuinely love it if I could have natural-looking 3D trees in AC, and am curious whether there are settings somewhere to achieve this.
I was moaning at @pk3r72owns for his use of 3D cabbage trees on a certain track a few months ago, but he sent me images from his PC with them looking pretty damn good, and nothing like what I was seeing.
Unfortunately like a lot of CSP stuff (especially the experimental/WIP bits), documentation is lacking or non-existent.

The IER Is great but not THAT great^^
Never thought that car so amazing
The AI is useless (they miss many turns and cause chaos in basically every race I try them in on any track) so it's only good for hotlapping and online races.

It's a pretty 7/10 car for me honestly. The physics are pretty good but the useability is not great.

I had floating shadows on SPA, Suzuka and Baku. In the middle of the day you dont see it but as the sun set you could easily see the shadow floating above the tarmac

it was until the peugeot dropped.. for me atleast..

but this shows you that the IER was just miles ahead of anything seen before...

one of the devs from VRC posted this under a video :

Thanks for the video! I have a small note on the subject of wheel suspension: In fact, the "COSMIC Suspension" issue is a new feature of CSP that we are the first team to use to our advantage. Short background info: In Vanilla AC without CSP, a wheel suspension is simulated using a lot of data (wheelbase, spring travel, etc.). Unfortunately, no one knows which algorithm is running in the background to emit the suspension in Vanilla AC, so optimizations are only possible with the addition of Motec or similar tools. "COSMIC Suspension" is a three-dimensional simulation of suspension components. Normally COSMIC is used in engineering applications. We use "COSMIC" in a CAD environment and in this three-dimensional environment we set all the wheel suspension components of the car and define the fixed points of the wheel suspension on the car. We then export these “COSMIC” results into the game. In other words: We now simulate the behavior of a real suspension, based on engineering software (COSMIC), in Assetto Corsa itself. This entire process is very complex. By the time this car was released I had driven around 2000km in 4 weeks. A lot of trail and error but I'm very happy with the result from our team. Greetings Lukas - Ferrari64
PS: In the future, topics such as "chassis flex" and real weight distribution will be added to this car's feature set. But these are things that are currently being tested and are being rolled out step-by-step. There are a few more cars coming in the future
I agree, for me the Peugeot is above everything else when it comes to the driving feeling.

I was going to do a hot hatch race in single player and this car just spins its wheels and doesn't move as the AI.
I checked the engine rpm against the AI gear rpm and it under the engine amount any other ideas?
Thanks. Car looks great btw I haven't tried driving it yet.

Does anyone know if a version of WSC's 2021 Audi RS3 LMS TCR (tcr_audi_rs3_lms_2021) with wipers exists?

Disabling extended physics might help.

Hello! I have run in to a big problem. Since a couple a days ago I can't start any races. I click on DRIVE and the waiting for race to end window ops up and after a few seconds I get the Race cancelled message.

I've updated graphic drivers, run a integrity check and tried different car and track combos. Nothing helps and I don't know what to do.

Any suggestions?

Afaik the IER P13c has cosmic suspension too. I mean JPG is the man behind cphys.
Many of the Cphys parts were created just for that car and aren't fully public documentation wise. So I would say they are at least on par.
Yes the VRC Peugeot has fancy physics scripts, but there is no need for an old school LMP1 to have such things.
Both studios do/did their best

which csp version? that was fixed or it was a bad implementation of the trees.
I've always had the latest of CM/CSP/PURE.
Probably was a bad implementation but havent seen any "update" for the version of tracks I run.
On another note, 3D palm trees are awesome!

Hey guys, does anyone know if this track from the video is existing in AC? (F1 Indoor Trophy track)

I am also trying to collect tracks where F1 raced in the 80s and I got every track but not Zolder(found a version in the tracklist but the link is "dead") ,Jarama (here I can use modern version maybe as it seems pretty accurate) and Zandvoort(I have Sergio Loros mod but I am looking an 80s layout with that chicane after Scheivlak corner). I hope somebody can help here...

I just uploaded the update for Zandvoort 2023 on here, it includes:

  • Working LED flagboards
  • Working startlights
  • Working pit exit light
  • Improved shaders, mainly on fences
  • Improved textures on pitbuilding
  • Fixed issues with AI
Note: The LED lights around the track by default display the green flag until there's another flag to display. If you wish to turn this off by default there is another extension file in the /extension folder you can use. If anyone knows how to keep the green flag on for about a minute after a session starts and then turn off as it would in the real world I'd love to hear!

Many thanks to @racinjoe013 for the help!

Hi everyone:

Do you know why if I do the custom previews with CSP option I get this strange preview with some cars? The preview of the Porsche is alright but the Ferrari has a strange reflection just under the car. Between the bargeboard and the front wheel. It feels like a strange cut.

This is great. Thanks for the effort.
Pyyer pays attention to stuff like this.
Perhaps for the 2024 Dutch GP, your track could get a nice F1 extension from him.
Maybe reach out to him early?

Very nice, thank you.
Noticed some z-fighting at distance on a couple of adboards which might need some attention?

Hey, i lost access to my old @Dudept account, i wanted to ask if anyone voluntarily would like to make some changes on the Estoril 2021, like the pit limit location, LED panels added in 2023 or other fixes. Thanks :)
