On the road to P70, a bit of update :

It seems to work quite fine for now, drives smoothly, CM paintshop compatible, still need a fair amount of correction on the shader/material side, other than that the rest is in place : dials are working, driver, steer and shift animations are far from the best possible but look good enough for me, mirror's working, all cameras working, AI's working, lights need corrections but are doing okay (except dials lights...I'll find it ^^).

Still needs to do the lods, doors animation but it's not mandatory, and I guess, a good debugging. The weirdo's on it's way!

No data is supposed to illuminate the rear plate, but position/brake lights don't want to lit only the lower part of the rearlight... Meh ?

Download the URD from their website, versión of the car 1.0.7.

Erase the older one, install manually as always do, nothing happens... No lights.

But I use the GOD FALL GUY advice (the one that change 500 to 50 in Bounce) and Magic happens! Now the car had wippers, lights and by the way, I've learned that F11 key put a mirror on the screen that is very helpfull.

One more time this comunity and their members find the way to fix a broken car. You are great!!

Well, I haven't tried it thoroughly but my hopes with the newly released "FSR 3 Fluid Motion Frames" have gone down the drain... Unless there is something I don't know, it only works in full screen and it's not suitable for 3 monitor configurations... 😢

Hi guys

Not been on this beautiful sim for some time, so a little out of touch.

Couple of questions if I may.

Firstly, CSP has updated to 0.2.3 preview1, and I noticed when trying a few things that some tracks won't load, get stuck on AI spine loading, and other cars have inverted mirrors or no mirrors at all. Is it just a case of reverting back to 0.1.80 preview428?

Also, with regards to SOL and Pure, is SOL still a thing, or is it just Pure that needs to be kept up to date

Thanks man. I'm more into classic F1 1980-1998 but 2007 was special as Kimi is one of coolest guys in F1 history and his WDC was more than well deserved after those very fast but unreliable car years at McLaren. Will definitely try this one.

Anyone know of an ext_config code I can use to alter mesh or material to render like it's inside COCKPIT_HR? So many mod cars have the inside of the door-objects not within COCKPIT_HR.

p.s. I need it to fix encrypted cars. The unencrypted ones I can fix using 3ds.

You might think it sounds like a very specific problem, but you'd be suprised how many of the "better looking" car mods have this issue-combination: encrypted/has COCKPIT_HR/doesn't have the interior-side of the door-objects placed inside of COCKPIT_HR.
For example almost all of MNBA's mods have this issue, just to name one, but there are a lot more modders/groups that consequently build cars this way.
If you'd also count the unecrypted mods with the same issue, I think we're talking almost half of the car-mods that are available in AC.

Anyway, enough rambling, I'm happy and wanted to share since I asked this question multiple times in this thread and never got the answer. So, maybe this info is indeed new and helps someone else out as well.

Should be handy for removing raindrops from cockpit elements too, I'm guessing.
The fact that it breaks door animations is a bonus. There's nothing more pointless in a racing sim, and it can be bloody annoying having to cycle through various door/hood/trunk animations trying to find the friggin' button that actually starts the bastard car...

I really don't know why I want to waste my time doing the door animations on mine... Because, if I understand it correctly, you can't put the nulls of the doors inside the cockpit_HR one, but some (and not all) the objects linked to it must still be under cockpit_HR. The mesh list look like a maze already, you need great vision and patience to keep that organized

EDIT : By the way, I might need a few VR users to beta-test the P70 in due time (shouldn't be long), 'cause i'm not like you, damn rich kids

I second this, please use VRC for both mclaren and Ferrari. I converted them to do a full package but they are definitely lacking compared to vrc.

Something I discovered by accident yesterday but wish I'd known years ago:
With CSP Real Mirrors, try increasing the FOV of the WING mirrors (NOT the central rear-view mirror) to between 40 and 50 degrees (the default is normally around 10 degrees). Adjust for personal preference.
This will add a subtle curved fish-eye effect to the wing mirror reflections, offering much wider side views and eliminating blind spots when cars are alongside... just like the mirrors on a real car.
Works brilliantly in VR, but I guess would also benefit anyone using Real Mirrors in 2D as well?

Further to the above, try this. It'll limit the wing mirror FOV to 45 degrees on the CSP mirror adjustment app, so setting 45 degrees (which seems to be the sweet spot for the wing mirrors) is now simply a case of moving the slider all the way to one side. It also increases the left-right rotation to 90 degrees (from 60), meaning less bodywork/ more road is possible in the reflection.
Remove the .txt extension and add it to ...apps\lua\CarMirrorsConfigurator\CarMirrorsConfigurator.lua after backing up the original.
This assumes you've already installed the CSP mirrors app, of course.

On the URD CLR, I am pretty I was on the 1.0 version(3/12/2023 data.acd), it looks like my headlight works but it was super dim, so I did the adjustment on the ext_config and its much more usable light now....

I did notice this weird yellow thing on the exhaust. If I actually pause the game it won't actually show up, I had to prtscn to show it.

There's also this ACFL 2006 free mod. I haven't tested it though.

People don't seem to like the ACFL cars that much. But I had a great 1994 season with ACFL cars. The cars drive well and are fast and the season with Alesi/Ferrari was super enjoyable. Had Schumacher and Hill at 99 and 98 and I had to fight for the points. I don't care what people say, one of my best seasons I've played (and I've played many hehe). Had a glorious crash in this Interlagos race which was my first with these cars. Really sucked at first. But I got familiar with the car as the season went on.

It's a disgrace to think that MSF was originally doing the conversion, and seeing their 2004 season mod, one can dream of the quality of the ctpd mod we would have today if ACFL didn't come and snatched the authorization from MSF so that they do the conversion themselves AND they charged for it !. The models are good (not hard) but the engine sound is plain awful and the physics is just like what chat gpt would generate if it was there at the time. The greatest mod of rfactor, ruined by greedy people.

Maybe 2006 is something you can go for in the future... I know you don't want but never say never... Your 2008 and 2007 are pretty nice btw, handles very well
