I recently watched a video on Youtube where some British F1 journalist said that he met Kimi in a balcony at some F1 gala. Kimi was totally drunk. I mean in the verge of passing out. The journalist smoke a cigarette and during that 5 minutes in the balcony he tried to spark up the discussion.... Kimi didn't say a word. Just stared with glassy eyes and tried to keep standing straight.

Finally Kimi walked back to the main room (wobblying) and he just mumbled "I hate F1".

Have you read Marc Priestley's book on being his mechanic at McLaren? Absolutely bonkers stories about the parties. Like waking up the next day and you're not even in the same country anymore, let alone hotel! 🤣

This is very Finnish

I went to the Singapore F1 race last year, and after the race I noticed a guy walking around with a big Finnish flag, he wore it like a cape. He was all alone and wandered around singing. I approached him and spoke my only Finnish words - yksi kaksi kolme, and he immidiately asked if I was Finnish. I answered no, I just played a lot of pesäpallo when I was a kid, hence the Finnish phrase. He then aggressively asked who is the greatest formula 1 driver of all times... I paused for a bit, before I reluctantly answered ... Kimi...? He then hugged me, told me that he loved me, before he strolled along with his beer, singing in Finnish.

This is very Finnish.

To be honest I thought it sounded like the problem was the car wasn't autoblipping, so maybe try turning it on and see. Autoblip should lift the throttle between gearchanges, which is sounds like yours isn't.

I tried it too but no it doesn't work, I'm not the only one here who doesn't have an H box for old cars, it's a shame because it's really not realistic

That "new AI behavior" is probably causing the infamous cars crashing like maniacs on the pitlane issue too. And possibly other major issues too. I have to test.

Is that really set as a default in the Content Manager?

It's quite possible that this has improved the ai on other aspects as well. I find it surprisingly good sometimes. Not idiotic kamikaze behavior during the overtakes anymore.

See 2:00 in this video. Slipstream overtakes are suddenly clean and good. I recall in the old days ai always deliberately crashed you way more often in situations like this. (Excerpt from my custon 2004 championship with full 20 car grid). I've done 12 races of the season already and had ZERO issues with the ai. ZERO. And unbelivably good racing against the AI on tracks like VHE Hockenheim.



Here's another ai example from Monza (2002 season). Video description has more. I'm driving Montoya (BMW)

How can you say this is bad ai? Ai overtakes cleanly, slipstream overtakes super clean. Sure Barrichello was leading Schumacher at that point which is quite unrealistic. There would have been a team order already... but other than that it's pretty damn good.

See my understeer and bad exit on lap 3 at Variante Ascari and how Schumacher (ai 100) immediately uses that and has gained enough speed advantage to use it at Parabolica... makes a clean overtake. This is SUPERB ai behavior. F1 2020 has easily the best ai of any F1 game... ever. But AC ai seems to be much cleaner in overtaking situations now????!!!



I probably had the "new ai settings on" without even realizing it. Look at the video... maybe I'm imagining things but AI wasn't that good before?

I think AC's AI is a hit and miss. In my case, either the AI doesn't race (sometimes only 1/3 of the grid starts, they get stuck behind the stationary opponents and then they get automatically teleported to the pits for retirement) or if they race they make a bit of a mess. I won't deny that I've given up now. Every now and then I race alone for some time attacks or track days, but nothing more.
