Hello everyone,
is it possible to deactivate the camera movement/animation around the car while in the setup menu in the pits and on the grid?
Thank you.

the new CSP doesn't seem to fix the Preview generation ... :)

with CSP / without :
1760778306314.webp
1760778385019.webp

or is this because of a certain setting or because I didn't delete the dll before installing the new CSP?

O and unrelated:

<snip>

How do you cope VR in Linux or do you not have WMR Headset.

<snip>
@Vintagedriver , check out in Steam "OASIS driver"
( got my reverb G2 running assetto on latest Win11, but works with all WMR headsets they say... So no more need for Linux to use WMR ;))
Thanks for the mod, small audio feedback, we can hear the "green flag go go go" from ACC don't know if it's intentional?
Or you may have CrewChief running...

The front wheels are turned slightly, which can cause certain cars with certain physics to go all Mexican low rider on us when generating CSP previews.
Have a tweaked preview where the wheels are straight, and use that one whenever this happens.

Anyway, getting off the CSP hate train, has anyone ever done a config or proper rework of Reboot's ancient Atlanta Motorsports Park?

Looked through various search terms in the thread, along with Breathe's list, no luck.

Awesome little track that I'll be running in a league race - but the foliage and grass can be pretty brutal on the latest CSP and Pure.

Would appreciate if anyone knew of a extension config/GrassFX at the very least. Cheers.
I do a couple of SCCA Track Nights there every year. The structures are very out of date; buildings, town homes, etc.

3D trees for Atlanta Motorsports Park

and how i can report a content manager bug?
Well anything here clearly gets reported back, or the discord and relevant section on there. Or on patreon itself. Plenty of places, provided its freindly its what the guy wants people to do, free testers, which is odd as he has an army testers with newer builds but i'd guess they all got there from being butt lickers and yes men., women, theys. So about as useful clearly as a chocolate teapot.

I really don't get the grumpiness towards Ilja here.

Yeah, his Patreon income is sizeable. But it's not like that all goes straight into his pocket.

Also, it's Patreon. You don't have to be subscribed to CSP to use it (something he could no doubt program if he wanted to).

It's a donation and support platform - that number doesn't indicate how much time he has or how complex the things he's doing are. It doesn't even compel him to work on it full time or never take a break.

You don't have to stay subbed to it. I am fortunate enough to be able to do so (as well as to Peter and a few other creators), and frankly two or three CSP updates a year for a pound a month is amazing value because it stops me wasting money on stuff I won't play or get as much enjoyment from (no interest in AC Evo, no PMR pre-release for me).

Does it have bugs? Yes. Does it have fewer critical bugs than the abandoned EA WRC or various Creative Assembly / Paradox games I have purchased? Also yes.

But if you don't want to, then unsub. Pay a dollar/Euro/pound/schilling per release. Or use the free version.

I guess this is subjective, but for me I don't have the same expectations as I do with a studio for a release. Kunos releasing AC Evo in such a shoddy state and then changing their roadmap completely a month after getting a huge amount of revenue... that I would be grumpy about. New features for my 10 year old game that I can always roll back to a different version of or can submit and contribute updates to because it's all open? I consider it a bonus worth the odd donation.

What exactly do you request? Atlanta MSP has already grassfx included, in the CM config file which is loaded automatically.

RainFX is here:

please share the 3d trees?

Just tested CSP 0.3.0preview110 with few different tracks: Rouen les Essarts, Spa66, kunos Spa and Acapone, with different cars : Lambo Huracan ST, Alfa 33 Stradale, ASR F1 1991 .

Must say that apart from the lacking starting lights, I have only positive things to mention. Puddles looks even better to me with nice reflections. Seems the GPU works a bit more on rain but seems also it works less on dry conditions with few cars.

I had just understood the problem of AI pit when raining using ac.getConditionsSet().rainWetness but now that this new CSP has solved the physics.setAIPitStopRequest(i, true) issue when raining, the original CSP AI pits now correctly to put wet tyres when rain starts and then get back to pits when it dries. Maybe it can be improved but the functionality is here.

I tried it with a special weather plan with Pure, sure there are still some issues, sometimes you don't understand why the plan do not start with the race and so on, but honestly, can not complain: how many racing games allow such fine tuning ?

Has anyone found if blue flag behaviour is implemented now ?

I don't understand the vitriol either, but I do share the frustration when things that worked perfectly for years suddenly stop working in the quest for marginal improvement. Some of these can be absolutely game-breaking.
I think a lot of people would just like the development of new features to be put on hold, while bug fixing and stability become the priority.
Better explanations of what existing features actually do and how best to utilise them is long overdue too. I suspect a lot of problems with CSP are down to users not really understanding the various options that they're enabling.
It's time to come clean about RainFX too, which is obviously what keeps subscribers paying and why it'll never be finished and never be free. That particular carrot has been dangling for, what, five years now? I don't think anyone actually believes it any more.
RainFX isn't really worth a damn any more anyway ever since it started totally tanking performance, and ever since grip levels became stupidly low with current car physics. The big draw for me used to be changeable weather, starting in dry sun and encountering cloudbursts during a race. But you can't even make it back to the pits to change tyres if even a light drizzle hits the track, unless you use an old car with legacy physics. I used to run wet/dry races in VR at 90fps with my old 1080ti, but I struggle to hit 90fps in the rain hot lapping now with recent CSP builds, and that's with a 4080. And reverting to much older builds creates all sorts of compatibility issues with newer mods.
So yeah. Frustrating at times. But it's all entirely optional. The vanilla game still works. But who wants that?

Whatever start lights CMRT HUD uses still work for me in CSP 3.0, should anybody be wanting start lights back.

Has anyone found if blue flag behaviour is implemented now ?
I didn't see any mention of it in the patch notes, so I'm guessing no.
I really don't get the grumpiness towards Ilja here.
Old men yelling at clouds. I've installed CSP on my own various machines and helped friends getting away from iRenting install Assetto and CSP on their various very different PCs. I'm convinced it's a skill issue. Alternatively, maybe the old joke about every copy of Mario 64 being personalized applies to CSP too, who knows.

Because of Windows 10's demise, and my system's incompatibility with Win11, I've now taken my game machine offline. I'm not an online racer, so no problem there.
First problem could be AC trying to call steam. Another is getting CM updates (which normally happen automatically). Has anyone else gone offline? Any problems you know of that I should anticipate?
I have CSP .3, but not sure if there's a new CM version to go with it. Where do I go for that?
Thanks for any help :)

If you create a W11 install drive using Rufus, you can bypass the requirements for an online Microsoft account, TPM, and Secure Boot. It's likely that the custom W11 kernels have these options as well.

If you are behind a router (private IP 192.168.. for example) and dont browse to idiot sites nor download questionable things you really have nothing to worry about.

I dont have ANY antivirus, have Windows firewall AND Security Center fully disabled on ALL my computers including my Win10 "gamebox" (I have 0 plans to update to Win11).
In over 20+ years I have never been infected nor compromised. I can also mention that I am an offesnive security professional (ex blackhat hacker) for 25 years. (I also used to write malware).

Thats all I can really say.

note: I visit this site and all my browsing/downloading on a Win7 laptop without AV/etc as described above and copy my mods and do most of my modding from this laptop over my network to my gamebox. I simply dont worry nor care about security updates because I have nothing exposed to the world (because I am on my routers private network). Oh, I DO have one box exposed via forwarded ports to run my website thats on another (linux) laptop under my sofa and an AC server.

You can visit, its in my signature... trust me :)

I upgraded 2 PC’s to Win11 from elderly people, that could not get the win11 update according Microsoft (both 10y of age). If you like to try sent me a pm with your PC specs, who knows I can help.
These upgrade went for both without any problems. Strangely it is my own much modern win11 capable PC that did get a upgrade OK, was and still is the problem.

I upgraded 2 PC’s to Win11 from elderly people, that could not get the win11 update according Microsoft (both 10y of age). If you like to try sent me a pm with your PC specs, who knows I can help.

Thanks for the offer, but I installed a cheap Win11 system to be my internet interface and really don't care to update my game machine to Win11. Based on RMi's situation described above, I could probably bridge the Win10 thru the Win11 and just do the occasional internet visit with the Win10 machine using the bridge.
RMi, does that sound like a safe solution? I appreciate your input.

I'm also contemplating installing AC on the Win11 machine (but only I5 32gb) as a reference (it would also collect new CM updates) not to actually go to the track... With the ultimate version it would be cheap to do it...

Cheers.
I made some changes to the shader two years ago. Maybe some other fixing too, can't remember.

If you are on a cable modem that provides your internal network, you really should just use that.
Of course you could do what you describe but will likely be more hassle than its worth.
You could also get a cheap router and create another private network (I did this when I had 8 computers (and 3 networks) in my home when I lived in the States.

WARNING, BRICK MESSAGE NOTICE!: Computer geeks with extensive advanced knowledge in programing crap can skip this message, which is intended for monkey-brained rednecks like myself. You have been warned...

Amidst all this turmoil of issues with CSP, CM, etc, I'm happy to report that I was able to upgrade to Windows 11 without my friend, the Nuclear Kitten, hitting the fateful meltdown button. I know it's not a great feat, but if any of you clumsy human find yourself in the same situation as me and don't dare to take the step, you should know that it's safe to update the operating system without ruining Assetto Corsa. If I've done it, anyone can do it.

My first hassle was backing up to an external drive the three folders https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/assetto-corsa-pc-mods-general-discussion.307899/post-13589428 needed to be saved in case of disaster while upgrading or messing with Windows. In severe cases of hoarding, these folders are so large that they become unwieldy. The SSD on my PC is 2 TB, the same as my external hard drive for backups, and ONLY in mods I have 1.19 TB (uncompressed), which thanks to the magic of the Assetto Corsa compressor takes up 212 GB on disk.

If the destination disk is formatted in exFAT (as usual in external hard drives), Windows does not automatically recompress the backed up files, so if the destination disk is not a lot larger than the source disk, the operation cannot be performed for lack of space. The solution is to format the external hard drive as NTFS and enable the option that allows Windows to compress files saved on it. In theory and according to scientific literature, the NTFS format has some drawbacks compared to exFAT, but it's ok for working with Windows and saving files that we are not going to access constantly, and this has been the trick that saved my derriere.

The next step was the proper upgrading from Windows 10 Home to 11. I took the coward's route cause I didn't want to get bogged down with pre-cooked debloated operating systems, opting to do it with the official options. There are several ways, but in my case, I used the "Windows 11 Setup Wizard" from the official Microsoft website. This method preserves your previous files, apps, and practicallly all your settings, which is the point.

Needless to say that the ideal is to have all programs, drivers, etc. as updated as possible, but it shouldn't be a problem either; my only scare came when the update was interrupted with a warning message that my PC's SSDs weren't up to date, to avoid the (now fixed) problem that arose with one of the latest versions of Windows. Once the latest SSD drivers were installed, the update went smoothly.

Now I'm just finishing updating some programs, trying to optimize Windows to improve its gaming performance (with the help of thousands of geeky YouTube tutorials) and testing Assetto and so far, everything is working fine... Well, FINE within the parameters of Assetto Corsa, you know... 😅

(Of course, take this message with a grain of salt; the facts described worked well in my particular case, and there may be some inaccuracies in my statements, as I'm no expert on the subject, but I think it can serve as a basic guidance. Good luck.)

EDIT: While writing this long message, what a coincidence you were talking about the same matter...

I also had 99% CPu and 91% CPU utilization with 0.3.0.
But the display was wrong.
By enlarging the app window, the values dropped to 27% and 45%. Already crazy.

I didn't see any mention of it in the patch notes, so I'm guessing no.
Thank you, I did not saw it as well. Tried to explore this by myself with my special F1 1988 grid but crashed so many times before overtaking slow runners that I let down lol

When testing the CSP "Pit when raining - drying" behavior, noticed that when changing tyres when the track has dried, AI cars always go out of pits with medium.

So to allow to go back on track with softs, I made a small tiny app called DumbAI (as a training for me). I'm not sure the isInPit variable works well for me, I had to use instead the isInPitlane boolean to be able to change the tyres compound by setAITyres without having it done directly on track as soon as the track change is triggered.

I post the code here, this is really nothing and quite useless but few days ago people said they were interested in enhancing the pit strategy without using proprietary app so ...
