Wow its the same jokers that have been bickering at eachother since 2015 still going at it. Its a real shame theres some people within these groups that are extremely talented and would have gone much further than modding for assetto corsa if they would just shut their mouths and stop acting like petulant children. All too glad I dont work with this lot anymore.

Is there a decent female driver model for Assetto yet? I know RSS has a female head one the vanilla driver's body, but that bothers me, and I think ports of video game heroines are the only female driver models that actually have female body meshes, though they aren't in firesuits obviously which makes them useless to me. Small detail I know for something you're rarely going to see, but it riles my autism.
This one?

Regarding the undercar fake shadows;

... the 'bake while loading' option was not following what I had set / saved in showroom and re-baking a super weak shadow.

In latest (0.3.0 p212) this option has been moved to assettocorsa\extension\config\tyres_fx.ini and hidden because it obviously is 100% fixed and working.

Worth a try to disable it..
... Putting a 0 behind Enablad2 for [Fakeshadowsfx_baking] did the trick.
The under car shadows are back again...

Finally, it works! Now all that's left is to fix the shadow banding, the exaggerated glow of the brake lights and brake discs of some cars, the appearance of the grass, the random crashes, the memory leaks, the problems with previews, the erratic AI behavior...

Joking aside; thanks to everyone for trying to lend a hand and to those who figured it out; it's amazing the happiness that brings to solve a problem like this, with such a simple solution...😁

Good to hear that it also works for you.

I didn't figure anything out.
All credits go to Uberbok.

Here's the link to three adapted cars (with new updates):

- Mirage GR7/M6 (Brands Hatch / Kyalami 1974 version)

- Matra 670C (Kyalami 1974 version)

- Porsche 936/78 (Le Mans 1978 version).

Always remember, these are just adaptations, given my limited technical capabilities.
Perhaps soon the NPanic, GØD & Team WSC Legends or HSS teams will be able to make these cars (more detailed and complete), in this case the Mirage/Matra versions, as there are numerous variations.

For the Porsche, I used the 3D rear section of the GTR2 model (by Evolution Group) and the rest of the car by Legion.
For the Matra, I also used the base 3D model (from GTR2, by Evolution Group).
The Mirage is a mix of Lola, Ferrari 312PB, and Mirage GR8 (which I had already adapted).

The track tests were consistent (with the real results).

Everything depends on the (setup).
I always use a (basic) setup: fuel (1/3 of the tank), tires (soft), the rest is the basic (which I modified).
Here are screenshots of some "skins" and the cockpit views of the three cars.
OBS:In all skins, there are necessary files for the two different 3D drivers.
  • driver_70_fe (which is the default)
  • driver_70 (on standby).
It's just a matter of modifying the (driver3d.ini) file in the "DATA" folder.

Mostly mods are without racing suit and Asian looking, but check:scared:
Maybe I can try and refit the normal kunos driver body around that Mai driver or something to get vaguely correct proportions, and just have her face peeking through the open visor. The driver rigging in blender seems to all be empties for some reason though, idk if that's the way Kunos meant it to be or if something broke when I imported the fbx files. Doesn't really seem to be any tutorials for making drivers so hopefully I can figure it out.
I will look if I als have the banding later.
The boss (wife) thinks I have to do something else than Assetto Corsa now.....:ill:
Turns out I have shadow banding too, 1.7.9, 2.12, and 3.0 all do it for me too. I recall noticing this and playing with a couple CSP settings, not being able to fix it, and just coping with it, but if we could all find a fix that'd be swell.

Saleen is now officially launched. Wrote an whole bunch of mumbo jumbo over on the Overtake page.

Enjoy it, Have started to gather references for the Porsche 911 GT2 variant that i'd like to commision next.

Please lmk of any issues you find with the car, Physics, Shaders, Textures, anything. we'll try and fix it as fast as possible.

If you feel like it and that it's deserved we got one of those paypal.me links if you want to. Not needed. But any donations will go towards the Porsche.
Has come to my attention that @marc magnela boyfriend ACTK has decrypted our stuff. As such anything from us will most likely never be public in the future, The Porsche i essentially canceled. Unless we can find a way to prevent this for the future.

Our bad for thinking that people could just let content not made by them just be, Sorry to those that are not like them. But yeah, I wont provide the community with high quality content if low life thieves is just going to steal my stuff that i paid for to be made available to everyone to then steal, upload on various 3D sites to make money off.

You can thank them. Enjoy the Saleen i suppose.

They look amazing man. You really a hardcore classic racing enthusiast.

Yes, me too, with the last versions of CSP, which I upgraded from 0.1.79, the version I was using... And speaking of shadows, another annoying issue I've noticed since updating CSP has to do with the shadows on some cars. Let me explain...

Well-made mods have two shadows: a primary, darker shadow that's projected directly under the car, and a secondary shadow that rotates depending on the direction of the sunlight. Well, since installing the latest version of CSP, there are cars where the primary shadow isn't visible, and when driving through shaded areas, those cars seems to float, as if they weren't touching the ground.

Has anyone else noticed this and knows how to fix it? What's puzzling me is that it doesn't happen with all cars, so I don't know if tweaking the CSP settings will help, or if it's a per car configuration issue.

(I know this message would be clearer with some images, but the Photo App isn't working very well for me either... 🤷‍♂️)
I know what you mean, this drives me nuts. It needs to be pitch black under a car. Not semi-levitating like you said. The shadows definitely need to be darker under the cars, and yes, I'm maxed out on shadows resolution wise.

I'm getting somewhere I think. I'll have to redo it because I'm not happy with some geometry and I learned a few things as I worked on it (like deleting half the mesh and using the mirror modifier to put it back together was a bad idea) I may also add geometry in a few spots just to make things a little nicer especially in spots where there are partial edgeloops.

Uhh, based?

This one?
Not quite what I had in mind lol, rigging also looks pretty bad on that one.

The printout "generated" in the "showroom" is a bit misleading.
But in reality (the adjustment of the parts, color tones, shading) and the actual 3D file (the one imported from Matra)...and the tangle of parts (in Mirage) leaves much to be desired.

At least it's fun on the track (the gameplay of both), it seems very good to me.
It would just be missing (a much better file), for these traditional cars, both from Le Mans and in general (World Endurance Championship).Let's wait for something better.

Hi, I installed csp 0.3.0p211 and I can't turn off "lighting fx". In the settings everything is disabled, but on the track the effect remains.

No I meant yout classic stuff generally. I went to check your Youtube channel. So much cool vintage racing stuff there. I will go through more tomorrow.

CSP and all it's updates and who really cares about driving in the rain? (seriously if you do, please explain why) . It seems CSP is all about rain and it lost the Rock and Roll, now it's just jazz..get back to where it all began please. Keep it simple, keep it rock and roll. Everything is lost in the mix.
I do. As for the explanation why, it's simple. Has every race you've ever seen in real life been run in perfectly sunny weather?

I've seen it on the "Garage" a couple of days ago and my immediate reaction was facepalm, like seriously? But nah, the only thing that shameless guy knows to decrypt is alt-J in CM, he got it from somewhere, and it seems more and more mods are getting decrypted over the internet. It seems someone has developed a tool or something... I mean, it was going to happen sooner or later, thinking that the encryption would last forever is unrealistic. On the other hand, all the bad things that the encryption has brought to the community... You should also say thanks to all the patreon modders encrypting their GT/Forza conversions and then even selling unencrypted versions for crazy money, trying to earn a buck in every possible ugly way... and also say thanks to Ilja for enabling all these idiots with encryption instead of only proven modders... What goes around comes back around, I guess, no wonder someone got pissed off and developed a way of decryption. Whichever way you turn some shameless people will profit, be it patreon modders or people selling stolen 3d models, unfortunately.
Anyway, thanks for sharing the Saleen with the community even though it was your personal commission, not many would do that. And I hope Nuvolari finds a way to protect his models in the future, it would be a pity for community and him for mods to stay private, and you can see him improving with every project.
Finally, to ACTK, be respectful once in your life, this is a scratch made free mod available on Overtake that Hords payed for to be made, remove it from your site and if you have any fixes in mind, just report them to the creators. If we can't cherish this little quality mods we have in the sea of rubbish, then what is the future of AC modding?
Sorry for the long post, but this development really annoys me

Here’s the thing, right the only reason the model is encrypted is because a ton of thieves outside the Assetto Corsa community are stealing everything that gets made and selling it on various sites. Just look at CGTrader, Sketchfab, Cult3D. They’re filled with 3D models ripped from Assetto Corsa creators. Sure, a lot of them are just Gran Turismo or Forza models that got converted to AC first, but the point still stands.

Personally, if these people didn’t exist, the mod wouldn’t have been encrypted in the first place. We only encrypted it to protect ourselves from outside sources that literally sweep through our community, steal our work, and sell it on those sites for profit. This wouldn’t even be an issue if those platforms actually vetted their uploaders but they don’t. Why would they? Vetting contributors would hurt their bottom line, and they clearly don’t care whether the person uploading a model is the actual creator.

So now I’m forced to go to multiple 3D model websites, upload the entire thing, and hand over my personal information to random-ass sites just to reduce the chance of someone stealing what I paid for what Nuvo created from scratch for profit.

ACTK only helps those thieves. He doesn’t give a flying **** about the Assetto Corsa community. His so-called “WAR ON ENCRYPTION” does nothing but harm the community. He’s the TonySSS of France a lolcow who can’t even make his own mods, a nobody who can’t even add a goddamn dummy to a scene in Blender. All he’s doing is enabling thieves to come into our community, steal what we worked on, and sell it for five bucks.

He’s dumber than an actual rock if he thinks decrypting mods is somehow going to stop this. Sure, it’ll eventually stop but not because people are afraid of decryption. It’ll stop because no one will bother making mods for this game anymore. Or better yet, people will just stop releasing anything publicly.

What I find especially hilarious is that he’s going after me someone who just wanted to give the community something unique but not going after RSS, VRC, or URD. Why is that? Their stuff is encrypted too.

Ohhh riiiiight. I think we all know why.

Excellent video which compares EVO 0.4 to the original AC (in the end of the video)

I've said it all along. EVO drives like ACC with lifeless, numb front end feel. I don't understand why those paid? sim racing Youtube influencers praised it. It's not very good honestly. I just couldn't put it into words as well as this guy (real racing driver).

I thought 0.41 was better and heading in the right direction....first I've felt a little optimism EVO - I've tried it back to back to back with AC1 and AC1 still much better - better feel and feedback - but EVO is closer than its been - still a bit numb and "laggy"? but better.

Can someone please help me and tell me how I can get it back to normal?
So that the ideal line isn't so extremely visible.

Go to the track
Open the Object Inspector
Hold down the ALT key and click on the black stripes
You'll see the mesh and material names in the Object Inspector
Open the track's ext_config.ini
Add these lines, inserting the materials name
Play with the Diffuse and Ambient values to adjust them to your liking. I first set a cloudy sky and adjust Ambient, then I set a sun and adjust Diffuse.

That reminds me that little experience i made with the F1 2011 driver model, that lead to nowhere because idk I lost motivation. The body is entirely made out of bones, the head mostly tied to the empty DRIVER:HEAD

Here's a blend file to see how it was done https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachme...ce431711a8f9e6458d24e8a92918179803029b0eede8&

Exactly, encryption is useless. The only correct way of protecting your work is to have a dedicated person who's job is to fill dmca takedown and send us military intervention to his house. Which for big teams is quite easy as they have that guy anyway as they need to copyright their stuff and have a legal entity. But for single modders? easy target. Because they know you won't be able to play that game, you don't have time to spend into this nor the mental strenght to do both the work and hunting rippers.

Unfortunately that's also why iija sent the encryption to anyone, to counter this issue and let anyone protect their work, without ensuring that the work in question deserved to be protected.

Encryption civil war 2 : electric boogaloo

Wish these people would solely decrypt GT / CSR2 models (or literally any other model ripped from a game cuz these 'modders' don't do **** but port a car made by other people - it's not exactly rocket science lol) and not scratch-made ones but alas.

I've seen a decrypted Chaparral from the WSC team and I fear we won't be getting stuff from them in the future because of that.

Just to add a note regarding encryption and the ACL/WSC mods.

They're not something that we want to add encryption to*. But those packs are a collection of works from many different authors (especially the 3D sources) and some of those models were allowed to be used in exchange for them being encrypted.

Several of them are scratch built and several of them are either wholly or partially using commercially available models from 3rd parties. Many of these have been donated to the project for free or at a very reduced cost in order for us to use, with encryption being the price of that.

[Edit: removed a chunk of TLDR words about future content.]

It's an ongoing conversation, but it's not one that we want to be having whilst trying to plan the next release and not one we needed to be having at all IMO.

*(Before someone points out that we did encrypt a couple of inherited conversions in a previous version, this was an accident later removed in a patch)
