VW Golf Mk1 'Littlebird EVO' released.
An evolution of the original Littlebird with new physics, more power, less grip. More car, less kart. 160+ skins (80 brand new, many originals reworked) all with unique race numbers and window decals. Model tweaks, various fixes. See ReadMe or UI for more details. Thanks, glad you like it. A lot of the testing was done at Aviano (https://www.overtake.gg/downloads/aviano-2025.80536/) so I think of that as its 'home circuit', but the default gearing should accommodate tracks of most length and complexity before any adjustment of the final ratio might be required. It's a blast in spec races with a full grid around larger circuits like St Croix and Spa, but equally at home around much shorter, twistier tracks. The increase in power coupled with lower mechanical grip makes it a lot more rewarding (and challenging) to drive than the more planted nature of the original. @graveltrap has done a remarkable job with the physics.

Thank you for the suggestion, I had in fact settled on near identical values for Diffuse and Ambient shading.

Changing the Shaded to 0 has not made any change that I have been able to see, on this or other tracks I have tried the change value on.

To give another illustration of the problem, the below image shows the concrete spectator seating at night, where the vertical surfaces are being illuminated by the ambient light from the Kyalami pits facing it. So the vertical stand surfaces are being illuminated correctly, but not the camera_facing billboards.
Whilst radically increasing the Ambient value would lighten the overly dark crowds in this lighting condition, it would then also require massive adjustment to the Diffuse value to compensate in normal lighting conditions. In fact, when I tried i was not able to reach a Ambient value that would generate reasonably light crowds in this situation, where Diffuse value was already at zero to compensate.
So what we really need is a way to change how camera_facing billboards are lit, so that as illumination from the front increases the crowds get lighter, like their surroundings, and not darker, as they do now.

With the following settings for vv_Kyalami, I don't have any issue. People are well lit at sunset, noon and night
SHADED=1
DIFFUSE=0.026,0.026,0.026
AMBIENT=0.09,0.09,0.09

Max is pretty pissed off of the new F1 cars and the hybrid monstrosity which FIA wanted to install in new cars. I don't Max will have motivation to continue on F1 if nothing changes. Actually also LeClerc, Norris and many other drivers have complained about the new cars too. Max likes the GT cars... maybe we'll see him quit F1 after this season and move to the GT cars who knows.

I just watched some 2003 and 2005 F1 footage with Kimi, Alonso, Montoya, Schumacher... and the sounds, the atmosphere, the races... so much more entertaining. It's not the current drivers' fault... no they are still just as skilled as the old legends. it's FIA that's the problem... they have made F1 way more "sterile" with all these silly regulations. Nobody really likes hybrids in any shape or form. Look how badly the new hybrid Porsches and Ferraris depreciate and they have a tough time to sell them.

Drivers want the V10's back, fans want them back... but FIA wants them to drive soulless electric cars.

PS: Mercedes looks totally superior. So much that I predict a very boring season. Last season was interesting because Max was able to compete against slightly faster McLarens but I think Merc has just too big of an advantage now.

Are you trying to extract it from the Windows Explorer? I've noticed issues with it before, if you are, try something like 7-Zip to open the archive and extract it that way.

Yes it's Windows Explorer. But I thought even 7-zip or Winrar both still pulled from Windows Explorer.

If you use 7zip and its own Extract button it will use its own copy/extraction functions and don't use Windows Explorer at all.
If you drag'n'drop files out of it, Windows Explorer is used.

So for AC mods, only use 7zip and its Extract button.

But taking advantage of your post, I mentioned in your DM an issue with the Porsche mod, which was turning left on my PC, and I managed to find the cause, and also with your Audi Evo. It was the FFB extended 1.9, or something like that...
And in conclusion, the error of the game crashing using the 991 and the 488, due to the Lua script error, was solved for me by updating the CSP to preview 304.
The 488 crashed once, in panoramic view, before the race, then no more. I did several races with CSP 304 and your mod in Suzuka, and everything was fine...
I also suggest changing the sound to that of the 488 ACC, which is much better, ok

P.S.
Disable the smart shadows in the CSP, what a terrible thing!
To bug the visuals of AC I managed to fix it, in at least 4 years.
Make my AC PERFECT, with FPS around 120 Hz, in 5K2k, 32 cars, FSR quality, 4096 shadows, among other things!

don't worry, they'll be back, and it's not fia, it's some teams but things have changed a lot in the last years, after the current rules were agreed upon.

As a professional F1 hater it pleases me seeing people finally get with the program. Drive to Survive and it's consequences have been a disaster for the human race. Also please be nice to electric cars, Formula E is much better than this slop. I think it's more likely that the teams lobby for turbo V8s over V10s. The only way I see V10s coming back is if MBS forces it through as a stunt to get people to like him, but my disdain for every single motorsports sanctioning body means I'm probably too jaded to be fair.

Ah, yes the lods that completely decimates the model to the point where they are just an eye sore. Those LODS. He needs to go back to GTR2 with his lod "generation" cause i have seen 12-14 year olds on roblox make better lods than him.

I have PolyCruncher installed and with the default settings CM wants to use, the LODs it generates are quite serviceable, I have no idea how he manages it.

Stupid regulations give birth to stupid issues, who would have known?

At least Ferrari looks competitive in race trim so the season won't be that one sided after all, and I really hope so because I really dislike both of Merc current drivers

F1TV updated their archive at the end of last season to include the full races from 1999 to 2005 and I've been glued to that the whole off-season. Such great sounds as you say, and actually good racing as well, even when Schumacher was dominating, there was still stuff happening elsewhere.

Its not really the FIA as much as the manufacturers insisting on it to keep in the sport. Audi refused to join without it, Honda only came back because MGU-H was banned, and Cadillac also only wanted in if there was hybrids. Where they goofed is instead of doing what WEC did by saying you can say 900bhp, whether it comes from battery, ICE or both is up to you, they said you can have 1000bhp total from battery and ICE, which means they just run out of power once the battery is dead. Its stupid, but yeah. Even Indycar's weak hybrid is better than this current situation. Having to split the power 50/50 was never going to work.

This thing that some people are starting to find Formula E more appealing than Formula 1 is a sign that the End of the World is near... I'm going to say a few prayers to Our Lady of the Pistons to see if she can work a miracle and bring back naturally aspirated V10s...

For me, sound is a tertiary factor. I care more about a good on track product than I do about sound, hence I watch MX-5 Cup even though the cars sound terrible. They could throw whatever motor they want into F1 cars, even an actually good sounding one like the H16 and the series will remain disposable until something is done about the aero. I don't actively watch Formula E by the way, because I typically steer clear of anything directly managed by the FIA because they are the anti-Christ, but I have seen a couple races and generally they were all much better than any F1 race I've seen in the past few years at least. Luckily, there's always old races I haven't seen from all sorts of series I can watch, which is good because I feel like mainstream motorsport broadly has been tanking for the past ten years.

Aaaah yes, the main reason for the "approval" updates, I remember:

  • LODs dont correspond with the Kunos pipeline - due to visual reasons, especially LODB - an updates is required to fix this.
  • LODs correspond exactly with the Kunos pipeline, an updates is required for better visuals, especially LODB.

I don't like Russell, either. There's just something extremely annoying about him. No charisma and that rich, spoiled brat-boy look. :D

He's very good and consistent performer though. I think he will walk to the title this year unfortunately. Hopefully Max gets his car competitive, otherwise it will be so boring to watch.

Those MX-5 Cup boys are bonkers! I love watching their racing, its just wild, especially at Daytona.

But you are right, mainstream motorsport has become rather dull. Even BTCC is rather boring to watch now.

Bigger, faster and "grippier" cars don't help, neither do all those flat and uninteresting tracks.

And since "sim racing is real racing with fake cars", I'll say it's exactly the same: less F1/GT3s, more low power machinery.
Ah, the fun I had racing with the Skoda Octavia or the Altezza cup cars... 🥰

I still remember some BMW R 1100 S Cup races (irl), where three or four bikes would enter the curves side-by-side, and since the motorcycles were identical, the one who showed the most guts was the one who would come out alive...

I think my chronic hypertension originated from the nerves I experienced watching those adrenaline-fueled races. Often, small one-make series are more exciting than big events.

Good morning everyone, I would like to ask if this car has ever been made for Assetto Corsa. I know there is a spyder version, but not one in the 1960 Le Mans configuration.
