Antonelli is purely a product of media sensationalism. Dude got a whole ass Netflix documentary about how he got the Merc seat while Hadjar and Bortoleto (both driver that outscored him in F2) flew under the radar. People praise him as the next Senna and then use the "he's a rookie" excuse to defend him when he screws up.

The highlight of his career so far is ruining Max's and Oscar's title chance last year by ramming into them in Austria and Brazil respectively, and lets not forget him letting lando through in Qatar as well.

Yes that Austria crash on Verstappen was really decisive. Looking back now, it was the crash the took the title from Max. I was surprised how lightly Max took it. It was an idiotic rookie mistake by Antonelli.

But then again even Hakkinen was a hothead when he started, knocked Senna out at Aida 1994 until he matured. Those things always happen.

But yeah, if Antonelli gets crushed by George this year (which I'm pretty sure will happen) it will decide the future of his career pretty much. He will have Coulthard/Irvine/Barrichello/Bottas role in the team if George pockets 3-4 first races. All those four were very good drivers but not quite WDC material. I think Antonelli is similar case (based on what I saw last year).

I'd argue that Max deliberately crashing into Russell in Barcelona cost him the title. Dude has never changed, the 2023 season when he had the absolute best car and could disappear into the distance warped most people's perception of him - of course he was chiller and wasn't resorting to his good old antics to win a race, but everything went back to normal in 2024 and 2025.

Max is pretty pissed off of the new F1 cars and the hybrid monstrosity which FIA wanted to install in new cars. I don't Max will have motivation to continue on F1 if nothing changes. Actually also LeClerc, Norris and many other drivers have complained about the new cars too. Max likes the GT cars... maybe we'll see him quit F1 after this season and move to the GT cars who knows.

I just watched some 2003 and 2005 F1 footage with Kimi, Alonso, Montoya, Schumacher... and the sounds, the atmosphere, the races... so much more entertaining. It's not the current drivers' fault... no they are still just as skilled as the old legends. it's FIA that's the problem... they have made F1 way more "sterile" with all these silly regulations. Nobody really likes hybrids in any shape or form. Look how badly the new hybrid Porsches and Ferraris depreciate and they have a tough time to sell them.

Drivers want the V10's back, fans want them back... but FIA wants them to drive soulless electric cars.

PS: Mercedes looks totally superior. So much that I predict a very boring season. Last season was interesting because Max was able to compete against slightly faster McLarens but I think Merc has just too big of an advantage now.
The first race of 2026 was better than the first races of Verstappen's championship era. Many fans are happy to not see his and redbulls boring wins anymore, Now it is Mercedes turn again. i and millions of others of us F1 fans couldnt care less if Verstappen leaves for sportscars, Hulkenburg, Alonso and Kubica did it better by winning lemans. The nurburgring 24hours nobody watches.

Yeah he definitely lost his cool there. Crazy move.

Just as crazy as Zidane headbutting Materazzi in the 2006 World Cup Final. :D

This thing that some people are starting to find Formula E more appealing than Formula 1 is a sign that the End of the World is near... I'm going to say a few prayers to Our Lady of the Pistons to see if she can work a miracle and bring back naturally aspirated V10s...

Yeah, who knew this would become reality in F1.

I miss mid 80's F1.

Is it possible, for example, on a rally or hillclimb map, to select several cars and use them one by one, avoiding having to return to the menu each time, to simulate a real stage day?

Agree! However, late 70's even more so (personal preference).

If you are reading here (looking at you VRC, RSS, URD), make us all a FULL and FAITHFULL 1978 F1 mod please.
You RSS already handed us a splendid Lotus 79 (okay, added with 3rd party skins, that is).
Surely, this may take considerable time and effort, but in the end....cash-cow and surely happy customers/users/racers :-)

Speaking of RSS Formula 79; Has someone out there any idea to sort of 'lower' the driver in monocoque? Andretti is a rather short fellow, but his helmet is simply to high to be correct. Would be awesome to see this corrected. I myself do not know how to fix this, but perhaps some dedicated soul here might? If not doable, so be it. Thanks anyway and you all have a great day.
