Ladies, gentlemen, boys and girls.

I have an announcement to make.

The highest point of my work. The honorary oscar of my career

The Piper have been ripped off. https://lemans3d.com/models/piper-gtr-le-mans-1969-48/

Or, the odds of another 3D model with the exact same proportion mistakes, choice of detailing and near-perfect same number of poly. Maybe.
No, They have stolen your 3D model. Their entire line up is just stolen models from other games with an $50 pricetag :)

Edit: I found RSS,VRC & URD models also being sold. Just went ahead and notified them so maybe the site will go poof soon lol

Last week I received a CM notification about an update for Darek's F-Type. I was a bit surprised as it's an ancient mod and it wasn't announced anywhere else but it seems legit and appears to be thoroughly made but is also hard encrypted (model & physics)...
If you have an old version installed, you should receive the notification through CM to update to V5 which also links to this discord: https://discord.gg/dE4bBXqvqB
Just leaving it here because it's really easy to miss.

Derek has been slowly updating all his old stuff. Which is nice to see. Hopefully he wont be discourage again when an certain french person steals his work again.

I use the dedicated log to see the tyres type, which also shows their optimal temps. It might not be accurate nor representative, so i'm out of the loop on the matter. Have a look at your tyres and let me know when it feels perfect, i could adjust the tyrehint for the AI to reach those temps.

As a player, do you notice the same diff in pace when playing on different road temps? Cause if the AI is faster eirher way, i guess we can go with that. I have no idea, as a player, how to go lower than 1.14.5 with the ferrari, and that's in optimal conditions, so i'm getting left for dead anyway with them going 1.12.5.

I have absolutly no exp with those cars, so maybe i'm going overkill, but since we reached 1.11.5 maybe it would be an interresting challenge for a trained driver
When I use Pro tyres app to check in-game the tyres temps and pressures, optimal temperatures are between 80°C and 100°C for tyres A, B and C, 100-120°C for tyres Q, and pressures around 27-28 psi.
However, player setups are really impacted by the activation of extended physics as you need to increase your tyres pressure to reach the optimal temperature window compared to when the extended physiscs option is deactivated.

Which log file are you using? Where can it be found?

I need to check the difference of pace when playing on different road temps. I'll tell you.
I know that the pace difference is not the same between dry weather and rainy conditions with extended physics activated, but it is still another question.

What I'm about to say is probably utter nonsense, since I don't really understand how this whole 3D modeling thing works, and I'm sure someone would have already thought of it, but... wouldn't it be possible for modders who share mods for free to also publish for free their 3D models? That way, it would ruin the business for those who blatantly exploit others works...

I'm sure I'm missing some detail...

So has my Daihatsu, my Isuzu, my Toyota's, my T33's, heck that site even sells my LIVERIES for 50 dollars attached to a ripped 3D model. Where has the respect for creators gone?

We've looked into the site itself, it says its based in Florida but, surprise surprise, it's hosted in Russia.

I call the tyre compound/temps thru my lua script, there's a data reader for these.
I noticed some AI were behaving erratically with compound C with high temps, whereas their counterparts with compound B or A were going "ok", around 1.13.

The main difference would be in the tyrehint, because of the calculations of the AI and its huge impact on AI's behavior, a tyrehing of 1.1 is perfectly acceptable at low temps and gives amazing lap times (under1.12), but would then crash or make errors on road temps>25°, needing a tyre hint of 1.035 max.

It sounds overcomplicated but i'm sure i could script a qual/race or tyre related set to insure consistent behaviors

And yet they claim 10 years of modeling experience...

Has anyone ever considered making a Holden Monaro 427 / Nations Cup / Bathurst 24 hour mod?? I'm relatively new to Assetto Corsa (on PC at least) and am baffled nobody has attempted this??

Awesome to finally have the GTE in Assetto Corsa... but why did you force the ignition sequence on the car? That means it won't go at the start of every race unless you turn the engine on...

Like for a road car to cruise with, it's fine and immersive I guess, but for a race car which should already have its engine running at the starting grid, it's supremely annoying.

Does anyone know what to remove in the extensions to disable that feature?

Some people don't have infinity buttons on their steering wheel to be mapping this stuff tbh.
OK! if you don;t want ignition functions please Delete "script.lua" in data folder and repack data.
Car can start the engine without ignition.
On another note, is anyone else having problems with the rearview mirror on the 1992 Ferrari F40 LM Stradale from the amazing @f40 LM Lover pack? (Sorry for the awful photo, but I'm having again weird problems with Photo Mode...)

First Push EXTRA C to turn on THE IGNITION and then Press 1sec EXTRA D to Start the Engine.

Sorry guys.

Here's a silly question: Why can't the extra buttons be remapped to something else? Like the steering wheel, for example, or a button box. It's always annoying in VR i9 because you have to lift the headset briefly to find the buttons.

Look down! The mirror glass must be lying somewhere on the floor mat!

Hello everyone,
How do I get rid of this massive shadow/reflection on my windscreen? Is it related to the absence of an external/internal windscreen? It also disables motion blur for some reason.

Many thanks to everyone willing to help.

Ok thanks a lot! I was able to start it up and drive it and it’s an excellent mod, I’m trying to balance it into my early-mid 1990s GT1 group, but in order to drive it I’d need to sacrifice a DRS or horn/wipers just to be able to move the car. So not needing a separate button layout is nice for me.

Hi F40 LM lover, nice job, thank you, and I can suggest for next updates; could be implemented this detail for the GTE?(the fourth air intake) (screenshot from )
Thnaks in advance

But does anyone know if anyone is actually paying $50 for this? I also try to sell stuff from time to time, not stolen or ripped stuff, but old random stuff from my basement. My experience with selling random stuff is, that people don't necessarily buy it, no matter what price tag I put on it. 😖

Maybe I'm just a bad salesman.

Yes, They are getting sales. Otherwise they wouldn't be paying to have the website hosted. If they weren't they'd be using free sites like Gumroad, Patreon, Ko-Fi etc.

They are 100% getting sales.

Yeah sure, but are they getting sales on your particular models? For $50? You're just assuming this because you're angry. Being angry is ok, but assuming things and presenting it as 100% is not.

My model (luckily) isn't on that site. But pointing out that an 3D model site is actively selling and very clearly decrypting and stealing 3D models from not only Kunos, But various modders and charging for them should be enough to justify being angry at them, and attempt to have the site shut down.

I agree all the way. But I'm still curious about whether someone actually buys this stuff.

Nothing to forgive, quite the opposite; thank you again for your attention to detail and for not neglecting those little things that make something already very good into something truly excellent.

By the way, I had also noticed the lack of transparency in the rear grille of the Competizione, but I thought maybe it was like that in real life... How boor I am! 😅

That's normal with these Italian cars... Porca miseria! 😮‍💨

Funnily, The one and only Ferrari F40 i have driven the rear view mirror did fall of mid drive  So it being broken is accurate

I agree with you. Stopping creating mods because "he" steals them means giving him importance and giving him a victory. Unfortunately the phenomenon of mod theft is difficult to solve, but I believe that the compliments, appreciation, and recognition of one's work for a mod are worth more than the disappointment of seeing it stolen.
@FrustratedUse Excuse me, why are you laughing? I said that seeing your mods stolen, modified, and ruined is absolutely awful, depressing, and demeaning. I agree with that.
But imagine if all the musicians, actors, and directors had stopped making music and films because of piracy... instead, winning an Oscar or a Grammy makes you forget everything.
I believe that if a modder does a great job and creates great mods, the praise will be more important than the theft.
