Truth, AMS has the best version of Portland I've ever driven
I'm looking at the road in blender and nothing seems to show how they are achieving that feel, all AMS 1 tracks ported to AC the feeling of driving on a road is miles ahead of anything. I litterally have kart mods that on any other track feel utterly pointless, but on AMS 1 kart tracks they are a bit of WOW.

As a modder you have any ideas?

Taking clues from @RMi_wood , copy and paste this into the ext_config file. It should fix the problem...
Yeah, perfect! I was just about to search for the names of the meshes to write the code when I saw you'd already posted it here... Finally, the bushes aren't lit up like a Christmas tree!

By the way, in my case, with DOUBLE_FACE_SHADOW_BIASED set to 0, the bushes seem to look better when they're in partial sun and shade, since the difference between the illuminated and unlit parts of the bush isn't so stark. Now, to make sure everything is okay at Atlanta Motorsport Park, the only thing I have pendant is to master that damn blind uphill right-hand corner... 😅

Thank you both so much, @RMi_wood and @racinjoe013 !

Here's the link to the Indy '50 pack (1958 Indy 500 race), with adapted cars (originals by Legion).

*Pack Indy '50 ( race 1958 )

I partially modified the physics (making them slower) and added some other parts to simulate the original "silhouette" of some of the cars from that year.

Later on, I may use the same car base for other versions of the 1950s Indianapolis 500.
Remember that the skins are also just close adaptations of the real ones (as it's difficult to find certain details).
I couldn't get more details in most of the photos, but most of them can be easily identified by the colors and numbering.

Along with the pack link is the 3D driver model I used for the cars, which was (driver_no_hanky).

*driver 3d ( driver_no_hanky)

Attached as an illustration (screenshots of all the cars).
I hope you have as much fun as I did (in the simulation with AJ Foyt, in my "Champions Career Mode").
Thank you for these, I enjoy them very much!

I just did the stupid signup with steam, just to get free mods... and then you have to download another launcher app to download the files, and windows defender says it might be a dangerous file. what will the installer app do to my AC folders? why have it at all? stupidest person in Assetto modding is that historic rubbish idiot. i wont bother with his page and will wait until they are shared to other spaces on the internet.
So true! I luckily download all of the HSS material I need before they started this crap. But I really wanted the St. Petersburg track and when I bought it I found out I couldn't install it without the app. I WILL NEVER BUY any other HSS product or any that requires you download and exclusive app, ever.

You gotta ask real track modders but the ISI engine based sims all had that wonderful road feeling

Does anyone have the link to the dirt rally conversation of the Pikes Peak hillclimb?

I hate to be that guy lol, but every link i find is dead and I can’t seem to find it anywhere else

yeah, naw...

GTR2/GTL/RF1 road surfaces are generally "really bad" with low-poly meshes resulting in stair-step corners and bad bumps. Nearly all need the road to be smoothed and remeshed

RACE series is not much better

RF2/AMS1-2/GSE/SCE surfaces are typicaly good and require liiitle to no reworking (unless already converted from the above)

"This channel has no content." Yet another modder has fallen on the treacherous battlefield of sim racing... 🫤

I'm afraid you're going to have to dig a little deeper into the dark corners of the web... 😬

Same thing happened here. My Kaspersky told me I should eliminate 3 suspicious files, and that's what I did. Better not to take risks, had a really bad virus experience some years ago.

Pikes Peak GDrive Gabenhood

The link from the video before it was taken down. Since it was public, I consider it fair game to share.

Grab it while you can. He is on the rampage - as you saw both in this thread and elsewhere around the internet. It likely won't be up long, he clearly frequents this thread.

Still in the early stages, preparing the grid for the 1959 Daytona 500—the first race at the new circuit.

The goal is to recreate the start of Richard Petty's career. Naturally, I won't be able to include all 59 cars from the original grid, but I aim to at least recreate (in part) the liveries of the key drivers.

For now, this is a basic version for the Ford Thunderbird, featuring the seven participants from that race.

Thank you for these amazing cars!

What do you think is the reason why nobody has converted the cars from GT Legends and GTR 2 so far? I think it would have been a great idea, as those games feature a wider variety of car models, wheels, and other details. In terms of 3D model quality, I think they would still be perfectly suitable today. Of course, I know there are some similar cars available from other games or made by major modding teams such as RSS Studio or Bazza, but they are not the same cars.

I did it in 2023 they're too dated. Look at those, it screams 2006 game lmao
