RE the trees adjustments, very similar can be achieved by a shader replacement in assettocorsa\extension\config\tracks\generic\generic.ini.

something like..

[SHADER_REPLACEMENT_...]
ACTIVE = 1
MATERIALS = shader:ksTree
PROP_0 = ksAmbient, 0.15
PROP_1 = ksDiffuse, 0.045
PROP_2 = ksSpecular, 0.02

Obviously wont look right for every track, but is basically doing same as app, but once when track loads instead of constantly and without trying to recreate ksTree behaviour in another shader.

This one is also nice if you have enough headroom:

[SHADER_REPLACEMENT_...]
ACTIVE = 1
MATERIALS = ?
FILL_MISSING_TEXTURES = 1
CAST_SHADOWS = 1
DISTANT_SHADOWS = TERRAIN

Any changes in this file get overwritten on CSP upgrade / version change so back-up / remember them if you like how it looks!

Falling leaves doesn't work for me in the app anyway, so nothing to say about that..
Just put this file to write-only and you´re safe in case of overwriting it through CSP updates. Thanks for the hint, though! Appreciated.

The M3 GTR as it was originally raced for 1 season in 2001 was a 6MT, H-Pattern. If this video is from 2004, even in its later guise it has a H-pattern gearbox...()

The model of the car looks to be the later car, as it actually features a full diffuser which was not allowed back in the early 2000 in LMGT class.

I was testing the car at Elkhart Lake and it was running GTS car laptime vs GT cars, hence the observation...

There is also this recent video:

Would be cool if the proper wheels are available too, at least for the early version...

For racecars of this era, sequentials are not a given, which was what made it interesting. Corvette C5-Rs were all H-pattern cars, early Viper GTS-Rs too. 996 Cup cars were still H-patterns cars and the RSR having sequential was a big upgrade.

I'm not sure if it's a guess or not. Anyway it's close but not that car. Btw car You mention is long time made by IER and even have some modern patches. Have a look here.

Hi, do you have any links for these modernization patches for USCC that you mentioned?

I'm running the stock USCC mod (1.22) and they are a bit outdated. Particularly the Oreca, which I use in my league every now and then. It's dated visually, and it's not easy to drive by any stretch, but it's perhaps the best free-to-download LMP option out there.

Back to the subject of the BMW M3 GTR ALMS... The imaginative excuse I’d cooked up to justify to my wife buying a BDH shifter (my dear, it’s necessary to feel the thud of the BMW’s sequential gear shift) is starting to fall apart. Out of curiosity, I’ve been looking for more information, and contrary to what I thought and just as some of you are saying, seems that the manual transmission was the option most commonly used in that car.

Attaching an interesting and comprehensive document.

ah, yeah, the ones through CSP I'm aware of. The Oreca one is actually pretty terrible, it breaks mirrors and LODs if I recall correctly.

thanks anyway.

Happy racing!
I was just about to start this skin so you have saved me a whole day of work, only thing i seen as wrong is the tyre side walls they had the small red yokohama i put the wrong ones on mine aswell

thankyou very much for this, there done really rather nicely

if anyone cares just take the 3 tyre side wall files from my number 6 or 10 and add them to racealot skins, that will give you the correct tyre side walls (after you download my update)

small update for my number 6 and 10 skins

picture for tyre side wall reference (only 1 i could find)

I tried to find who uploaded this years ago but i cannot find the OG upload so i will post it up here: this is a ready made tyre sidewall pack. It has helped me out alot over the skins i have done maybe it can make someone else's life easier..........whoever put this together years ago i salute you.

There's a useful app on OT by someone named Voom for those who want to have a roof cam quickly.

Are you able to convert your skins to the ACF version as well? Better 3D model...

I have a difference of opinion, i just downloaded the ACF version to double double check and to me the ACF version looks no where near as good as F302........

i checked both models yesterday to see what 1 i want to skin and F302 came out ontop (for me at least)

Its all give and take, for instance the ACF version has a more accurate heatsheild around the exhaust but then the headlights are not mapped on the ACF version unlike f302 version. But then you can remove the rear splitter on ACF version through an ext_config you cannot do this on F302 version, but then to me the model overall looks better on the F302 version

TLDR: none of them are actually accurate really there are so many different variants. The only way to cover all bases would be someone in 3d adding/subtracting the different parts over the seasons for each different skin............it would be a huge amount of work.............

I actually have never thought this car had sequential transmission, at least never the factory 4 liter V8 M3 GTR. There were many "M3 GTR" that were not built by BMW, with V8 or I6, I think the Grand AM cars with the 5 liter V8 from the E39 M5 base were also still normal manuals. I've certainly seen videos of E46 M3 bodied GT cars that had sequential but I am not sure if those were ever BMW built cars.

This car in general is a weird spot where large mod makers seem to miss. Considering how iconic it is(IRL and the fame later due to things like Need for Speed Most Wanted), weird that RSS never made it as part of the GTN line(I guess it only raced 1 year in US and never really in the FIA GT, which I guess is what RSS was trying to simulate). Ditto with C5-R....
