Played it for the first time this week.

The only comparison i have is CS & it compares quite favourably, have'nt as yet managed to get a chopper to float, but the tanks & apcs are fun


Is the patch only performance related as i was running a good few procs in the background & it only crashed once when i was fiddling. Seems to run w/ no lag & fewer 'jitters' than CS.

I usually pick Antitank or Support & get stuck in.

I'm usually Special Ops or Medic. You can get loads of points for being a medic on one of the city maps.

<----- I play Medic, Assualt, Anti-Tank. Thats pretty much the only thing you will catch me with. I play Assualt Cause i also have the G3, and ZOMG I forgot a the name.

We should get into a server, play on a server together, and each assign us a weapon set, so we can be invicible

Haha yeah right, i meant overall score in the round. My highest kill streak has been like 20 or something, probably also as a helicopter gunner.

Ok, i'm fricking mad, I join a game, and i'm about to own this helicopter who was stealing are base. Then some guy comes and teamkills me and lets the heli. Ok so i spawn, and there he is right there in a Humvee, he runs me over. I'm damn mad, so I leave. I join another game, AND IT'S FRICKING LAGGY AS ****! I'm lagging like I have 90000 ping... AND I have 19 ping.. WTF! That is ****ed up. I died 9 times and not once could I see anything cause the only screen I see were you want to spawn then it's telling me I was killed WHAT THE HELL! BF2 is ****ed up. I wanna punch somthign really hard, cause thats what I do. I hate BF2..

No, he is doing it purposly, I know, heres what went down. I spawned, he looked at me and started to shoot, I ran and took cover, and he ran over to me in my face and sprayed. He was support, so basically i was ****ed up.

Nope, it was an asshole im possitive. I've been playing since the day of release i can definatly tell.

I remember this one guy kept running into my clays in front of the hotel in karkand gates. He would die and punnish me. Twice. So I would just shoot him and people would join me. Just like stat padding except you kill ur own team mates. Sure our score went down but he deserved it. Eventually admin kicked him not us

Still can't get Battlefield 2 to work, however the patches before 1.12(Oct 05 patch) work fine, it's just after it, which causes the problems?

Battlefield 1.4 Patch Announcement

Well as many of you know, the patch announcement that was promised earlier in the week is indeed out. Here's a rough translation of the news off of the EA Spain website:

First of all, we'd like to thank everybody who has contributed with the Beta Testing of the Patch 1.4 for posting your opinions on the forums.

Your opinions and reports has been very useful for us to improve the stability of the client and server for this patch. Also, we proudly present “Road to Jalalabad” sponsored by Comcast, and the new server option “Infantry Only” which will give you a new dimension for the classic Battlefield experience. The 1.4 patch will be available next Tuesday, the 15th of August.

Also, on a new effort for supporting our community, we are pleased to announce the first cycle of our MODLight where we will check the talent of the community's mod teams. As a part of this, every mod will be tested and hosted on servers arround the globe for the player's enjoyment.

More details about this patch and the MODLight program at the beginning of the incoming week!

Even if it's not bug free, it will probably be the last patch since 2142 is coming out, and with the 2 months or so of beta testing that they did.

According to some website's "source" 1.4 patch should be out at 18:00 GMT today.

Just installed BF2 this morning and am currently downloading 1.3 so i can play. Seems the game doesn't work without any patches on my pc.

Really hoping the game isn't as bad as i remember it got.

Well it appears that some last minute bugs have arised in the latest Battlefield 2 patch and it is going to be delayed. Here's what they had to say:

Due to some last minute changes the release of the 1.4 patch has been delayed.

We do not anticipate this delay being a lengthy one, however we do not have a fixed date for release at this time.

We will update you as soon as there is further information.

Apologies to those who were expecting the patch today, however in order for this patch to succeed in the way it is intended a little extra time is being taken to ensure it is right.

We understand that this is going to cause a significant amount of aggravation, however it is worth ensuring that the patch actually resolves as many issues as possible. So some additional time is being taken to ensure that this is the case.

This last thing we want is a repeat of the 1.3 patch.

It has also been reported over at Battlefield2.nl that the patch will only be delayed for 24 hours. Here's what they had to say:

Although the patch was announced to be released today (by EA Spain), it seems a small bug has been found and needs to be fixed before patch release. The release of patch 1.4 has been postponed 24 hours in order to allow more testing and the fix of this small bug.

Yeah i've just had a few hours online to get myself reacquainted. The controls took some getting used to; can you really not strafe while sprinting?!

Yeah, no strafing while sprinting. I think I can live with that though, I only sprint when I need to get somewhere fast. When I'm shooting I normally go prone.

I still hope the patch will allow me to start-up BF2, because 1.12 and up does not allow me to get into the game.

I recently did a reformat and reinstall on my comp. I have no idea where I put the manual for BF2 so i can't play right now. Is there any other (legal) way to get hold of my key?
