Usually I'm TRYING to stop people from capturing it by killing the people on it, rather than getting it myself, or kinda go near their spawn and annoy them from there. But the way you play is generally how I think too.

If i get on a good team with solid players that are actually trying to capture and complete objectives and i see that they are doing a good job of it i will shift my focus to stopping people from destroying the HQ. I have been in some games to where some of my team mates where just sitting in a corner in a house not even close to the HQ or to anyone else for that matter, that pisses me off:ouch:

That's why I stopped playing Domination, because I was almost always the only guy in my team trying to capture the flags and it pissed me off. Same with HQ.

I hear you loud and clear! Another game that really gets to me is the mode where you have the neutral bomb you have to carry. My mates will kill the carrier and then just stand around the briefcase or whatever it is cant remember. I will run up and look at them and say, wtf are you guys doing?! Pick it up and go! They just huddle around it, so i end up grabbing it every time and running with it. And then of course nobody tries to cover me or attempt to try to escort me, so im all alone getting popped in the head:dunce:

Sounds like a standard Sabotage game, that really annoys me to and i usually end up carrying to. When you get a team together who all try to push the bomb 9/10 you win if they're even average players just because you're making progress whilst the other team tries to soak up the pressure. I do enjoy Sabotage alot if the teams are trying to do the job.

Edit: Good playing guys, and Ebiggs, one of my ACOG R700 kills on Backlot was so hilarious... I was standing near the ladder on the side of the big building, and saw you run out of the building with the smaller turret. I swung my aim vaguely in your direction and shot without looking down the scope...

I just had a few games with a7m2 and feiling_ham, and I basically won*.
You just don't expect Gold Cross type skills from guys with chevron stripes. I wanna rematch! You just caught me off-guard.

I'm about to get on, if anybody's interested. ;)

P.S. My Playstation 3 is due back from Sony on Monday. There is about 60% chance that I'm going to sell it, then buy a Xbox 360. I was under assumption that your warranty-repaired PS3 will come back with a new 1-year warranty. It's actually either your original 1-year warranty or a new 90-day warranty, which ever is longer.

I really don't want my system to go down without a warranty. X360 of course comes with the 3-year on the ring-of-death thing. Only thing that's keeping me on PS3 right now is Gran Turismo 5(a series I lose more & more interest in), and my PSN friends. :indiff:

Hmmm, well, by the time GT5 comes out the PS3 should be cheaper anyway, so if you sell it now then buy it again in a few years time then I don't think you'll lose much money.

I'll gladly welcome you to the Xbox though. :)

Wow.

Ooh Ohh!!! I'll make you raise that up to 100%! Please! Then I can sell this crappy ass PS3 CoD4! I got my 360 copy of CoD4 back from my friend today too!

It would be a shame to get rid of the PS3 though... even if I didn't use it I'd still keep it

How does PS3 Cod4 differ from X360 CoD4? I would think XBL (since it costs money) kind of filters out people with bad internet though

Yeah, it 99% of the time puts you into a game where you don't have a bad connection. Sometimes you're put into a yellow ping game, but only if you join another's game or in a party being hosted by someone in another region (like American party host Europeans will likely get yellow ping). Much more stable overall.

In my opinion or at least for me, the biggest reason is the controls (haven't actually gotten to play the 360 CoD4 yet so I'm going off of what I remember when it first came out.) I don't think online was any different/better than the PS3, but the graphics definitely aren't the same as the 360.

Has that been a big problem? and what are you trying to say? My internet hasn't sucked THAT badly lately... :grumpy:

I played XBL COD4 and just found many MANY more annoying headset people, it beats the more often then not silence found on PSN unless your in a party, it keeps your party tightly knit as nobody else talks generally  If only my headset wasn't rubbish i could talk and not just listen.

Yeah, because you get headsets with most 360 packages you get mostly everyone with a mic plugged in.

I was wondering about the differences between the Xbox version and Playstation version also. What were you guys saying about the graphics? I'd expect the PS3 to be slightly better in that department, as the one I play looks just stunning at times.

Glad to hear about the connection being better on Xbox Live, as we(me & ceiling fan, included) complaing about the poor connection, all the time. :D

Wow.
Thanks James. :D My game plan was like you said; By the GT5 is out in 2011 :p, I can just get the console again when it's cheaper.

Sadly, I can't justify owning two systems just yet. You and James have it made!

I keep struggling to justify owning one too, but it's basically because of GT5p, GT5, and Blu Ray. Anyway, whoo hoo! 360 here we come! :D

The 360 version has a "Matchmaking" system as well, which tries to put you into games with people with similar abilities as you, i.e similar ranks. It's never properly worked but in general you do get put into a game with lower ranks, and me with much higher ranks (at least 4 prestige 10s in a HQ match). But I say it "tries" because it doesn't always work - sometimes I'm in a game and I slaughter everyone because their highest rank is prestige 2. :dunce: Another major advantage is there is host migration - no more being kicked out of a lobby because the host left.

Graphics are very similar. They're clearer on the PS3, I presume due to the HDMI and whatever processing the PS3 does (forgotten its name). But the framerate drops quite a bit more, but it's still very, very good. And I prefer the 360 controlls because my thumbs don't clash with the analog sticks and the triggers are more usable.

It does? The only noticeable drop in framerate I encounter is being in a cloud of smoke or next to an exploding bomb in Sabo or S&D.

Only the bombs for me and even thats rare. I also don't get many bad connection games... and i have no problem using a 360 or PS3 controller at all, infact i find the PS3 slightly more natural because of where the left stick and Dpad are i find it easier to find my UAV or whatever. And personally if it was done by rank i'd be getting easy games because i dont prestige wouldnt i? That would suck.

Host migration is a very cool feature. Controller things is weird for me. I'm usually the biggest hater of Playstaion controllers(I even made a thread about it), but on CoD4, I must say, I'm nervous about the transition to Xbox controller. I might actually prefer the Playstation one for CoD4.

I'm still kicking around the idea of the switch(sorry Nick :sly: ). Earlier today, I was 100% sure that I was going to sell the PS3 within a week, then get a Xbox. Earlier this evening, I changed my mind two times. :p Possible price drop for the X360 Premium next month, plus the upcoming harddrive upgrade & Blu-ray drive on PS3 are some of the factors for me right now.

Thank you guys for all your inputs. I'm getting similar help from my friends as well, it really helps! :)

Do you also play on Xbox Live?

I've put good amount of time into both, i stay at a friends alot who has XBL and COD4 and have the PS3 myself, cant compare graphics to much as i've only played X360 COD4 in HD one time, but i have no trouble with frame rates and so on with my PS3 one accept the very rare game these days.

It only happens when things are really hectic, which isn't very often. Shipment is a good example, especially if someone throws a smoke grenade.... Well, smoke grenades anywhere really. And particular parts of some maps in general aren't as smooth (off the top of my head Crossfire). But it's nothing major.

Nooo! j/k I can't really blame you for your delema. As I said the PS3 is good just not for me in certain cases. It's your decision so it should be one that makes you happy. 👍

Sounds like no major issue regarding the CoD4 then. And I do like the online features of Xbox Live, too.

Nick: Send me 300 bucks. That would make me happy. :p

I say Ha in the face of that matchmaking. It doesn't work at all, not even close to being a beta test. Im not rubbish at the game but sometimes im in a match to where i just have to leave because it like im playing really good AI:ouch: But there has also been times to where i have had to leave because there was just zero challenge, it was just me keeping my team ahead and nothing else, one man army type of deal. That can be fun the first few games but it does get old. How exactly do they try to match you up? Im lvl 55 ( im not prestig'n and losing my perks etc.) and most of the time im in rooms with people that are 10th prest'd. I look around and its all gold cross 55's. So im guessing it goes on stats to match make and not your rank?

Also i have never had any problems with connection on COD4. I have had problems in Grid though. Cars have came by me floating and jumping on the track and such. I am ready for COD5 to come out because i will actually be getting this one the day it comes out to start my game so i won't be so behind this time. I am going to complete the single player before i start on the multiplayer though, thats just how i roll.

Already been posted....good editing skills though.

Am I the only one that positively hates the Mini-Uzi?
What a piece of crap. Played a few matches today, tried to use it, only good for getting myself killed.

If it was on the field as it's shown in the stats, it'd be a great weapon. As it is, it's worthless...
