Catch you online then! Do you have a headset?

On the G36 issue, I tried it on some maps today, and to be totally honest, won't use it again unless I run out of ammo and it's the only one available to pick up within a 10 mile radius...
Not only the accuracy doesn't match the stats bar (see my big post on this page), but the capacity is pretty low for it's fire-rate. And most importantly, as magburner said before, it has SERIOUS stopping power issues. On a face-to-face situation, if both start firing their weapons at the same time, the only way you'll survive is if you're aiming to the head and the other guy isn't. Might be an exaggerated way of putting it (slightly), but it's what I think. Bottom line: not worth it.

I'm getting increasingly better with the G3. I LOVE it's accuracy (pretty much flawless), and it's power. Of course, it's not a weapon for any map, I basically use it for Crossfire, Countdown and Overgrown. I feel I could hit a pixel anywhere on the map with it. 👍

I also hate the G36 for similar reasons. It takes too long to kill someone even with stopping power. I've been in many face to face situations where someone would always kill me before I killed them with it. It's just exaggerated with double tap - it takes waaay to many bullets to kill someone that way. I only use it for the challenges, nothing more (which I'm currently doing for the gun right now...).

My most hated gun is the MP44. I can't quite remember why since I've only used it a couple of times, but it was pretty bad...

WW2 era gun in a modern arena is not recommended. When I read the guide and saw that the MP44 was in I thought it was an awesome idea to include it. Playing online yesterday I picked on up thinking SWEET, this'll rock...

it didn't. :ouch:

The MP44 is extremely powerful, but it has a recoil that wrecks the accuracy while on auto-fire, it should be used with the trigger-tap for medium/long range shooting. But it’s stopping power, even at short distances, is just amazing.
Problem is, it doesn’t allow for any attachments whatsoever.

I’m surprised (and dare I say proud of myself) that as far as I know, I’m the only one here using the G3 and getting away with it. :sly:
Of course I use it almost exclusively for the Countdown, Overgrown and Crossfire maps, but I love it to death (when things go my way, of course – on some cases I have to switch back to the good ol’ RPD during the match).
G3 has terrific stopping power, pin-point precision and medium/large magazine capacity which make it a wonderful weapon for those maps, imo. Lately I’ve been using it with a silencer and the results have been quite positive, as I can stealth throughout the map carefully and get quite some kills without having the entire enemy team swarming all over me because of the red dot appearing on the UAV. Too bad the UAV Jammer replaces the stopping power, or I would use it too with this custom class. But still I’ll give it a try, it should be fun to see the guys passing by me thinking nobody’s there and getting hit in the back of their heads, while their team mates don’t even hear a thing and don’t go back, seeking cover on spots where I can easily take them out since I’d be behind them. :D:D:D:D:D

Also, tried the M16 without Stopping Power, replacing it by the Double Tap, and was really disappointed. Logic thinking made me believe that twice the bullets on your target would allow faster kill, but it just doesn’t happen. It takes too long (match-wise) for the other guy to die, and you can’t hold the aim on him forever. Same as I found on the P90; you need 50 or 60 rounds without the Stopping Power to kill someone, it’s like the Double Tap perk decreases the weapon’s power... I find the Stopping power more effective still. Does anyone know the ratio by which that perk increases inflicted damage?

EDIT:

F1Driver - don't forget to post here saying it's really you back online, buddy! :)

I got kicked out of the playstation network about 10 mins ago and cant get back in? is anyone else experiencing this error? Thanks in advance 👍
Ron.

edit: the error code is 80710092 ??

I had that happening to me 2 days ago while I was in the middle of a CoD4 match, still trying to figure out what happened.

But I re-registered immediately after and it worked fine.

Cheers mate, I just tried with Kels account and also the Japanese account I created to download the GT5 prologue demo and all have the same error, I reset my modem and my router and my internet has no problem ... I just cant connect to the PSnetwork? I did a search on google and cant even access playstation.com to see if they have any info to help ... are you still online with the PSnetwork now? maybe its a global error! well thats what I'm hoping anyway :sly:

Double Tap sucks.

Mr P - It's working just fine for me. Re-check your PS3's configurations, maybe that's where the problem is.

Omnis - Exactly. Waste of bullets and precious time, which gets you killed.

Just did a team DM on District using the P90 and went really well. 15-8 in kills, the most I've killed in a single match using this weapon, which is starting to grow on me (now using RDS). But I still think it takes too many bullets to kill someone. Lucky for it, the fire-rate is super fast, or it'd be a crappy weapon.

use that with the ak-74 and tap it, it pwns hardcore.

Not really. All it does is use your bullets up twice as fast. Stopping Power would suit your needs far better.

I dont know, i like using the P90 with double tap and I seem to be getting some good streaks going. It also depends, like sometimes I take a lot of people out but other times I don't, you really got to get them in "critical" spots. My main gun of choice is still the M4, for some reason I just love it and I am really good with it, I haven't been able to get one much lately because it has been busy around here.

Beerz: Ya I will post if I am on, like just leave a message or something but ya since both my bros are coming back for Christmas, my online play time will be reduced.

hehe made Captain tonight. Completed a few challenges, unlocked a few weps and accessories. Good times.

I imagine the M60 will be very good with Double Tap, as one of it's major downsides is the slow firerate, and its large magazine makes the increased bullet usage much less of an issue, but I haven't the time to try it out yet.

Seanman - But the problem with the M60 is that double tap will add nothing to your kills, due to that weapon's recoil. Even more if you're not using the grip. Stopping Power will guarantee you a kill with a couple of well placed bullets, or just one, if it's a clean headshot.

D_P - Awesome matches we've just played, I still can't believe I won that 5vs3 match. See, I wasn't lying when I said Countdown and Pipeline were my favourite maps. :)
One of the times you got me on Countdown, between those containers, on the corner, I had just called in a UAV and the RPD wasn't ready yet, it was frustrating to be powerless while being shot. :)
The Downpour match (where you were brilliant, btw) was too weird. We started 3vs3 or something, and all of a sudden, I'm being shot at by guys that weren't there when we started, I 'got lost' in there.
How'd you like Angelina, the blue RPD? Really, that's how i call it, but can't say why or I'd be banned.

Found a new love. Forget the P90.
The AK-74u is da bomb. 👍

Yes, Beerz. You are deadly. I mean really really good with that RPD. You dont even use the Red dot sight and you are extremely accurate. I was getting so frustrated in pipeline and countdown, as I hate both of those maps. Especially countdown. But, alas, I always seem to do well in Downpour, and I just recieved the P90. But yea, what ended up happening, was that you guys all respawned in that one corner, and got bottlenecked everytime you were coming through to get to the rest of the map. And the P90 with double tap is a good way to get several kills quickly. Especially when i just spray the bullets at a crowd. Every time I died, I just came back to the same spot and got about three kills with each go round. But seriously, How did you manage to rack up 376 points on Pipeline?!?!?! That is just ridiculous. The most that I have ever got was 256, on Bog. It was a domination match, and I ended up with 41 kills and 8 deaths.

I take it maybe Angelina is your ex-girlfriend?? At any rate, you are amazing with her. Im not to great with the AK-74u though. I used to love it, but Im so used to the M16's accuracy, that using the 74 is too difficult for me.

use that with the ak-74 and tap it, it pwns hardcore.

I take it you've never used the M16 then?

edit:

I will be online in 5-10 minutes.

The match balancing seriously needs work. I just played a 2 vs 8 Headquarters match and my team got destroyed something serious.

Before I went to sleep last night I had another go (reached Captain, 2nd Level) and on the Bloc level in particular I started getting in some practise with the sniper rifles. Quite different from the COD2 counterpart, but starting to get the hang of it.

VT - No kidding, mate. I could understand that on a first match stuff would be unbalanced, but after that it just doesn't make sense to have most (or all) top scorers of the previous game on one team and the guys who did worse on the other, and keep going like that match after match.
That's why when I am having balanced and even matches, I pray the game lobby doesn't close. :)

D_P - Actually, it's after Angelina Jolie. :D
And that score was actually the highest I ever got on a team DM, usually on those maps I'm around 20-something kills, occasionally over 30, but 37 is me all-time record od a team DM. 👍
I'm always a lot better on those tactical maps, especially if it's not a full field of players, as I feel more comfortable like that, suits my style of playing better.
And yeah, on the Downpour I kept respawning on the same spot, not to mention sometimes respawning on top of a grenade that was gonna blow in 0.2secs...
And yeah, amazingly I can get more accurate, even at long range, with the RPD than I ever have with say an M4.

The AK-74u is pure awesomeness. It kills faster than the P90, has a much better fire-rate than the stats bar show, and excellent stopping power.
Yesterday I used it for the 2nd time ever, on the Ambush map, and got 29-9 on k/d ratio. It's THAT awesome.👍

I used to use it all the time, when I first unlocked it, but now I find the P90 to be more accurate. My only problem with the 90 is how quickly you can run out of bullets. I would use the bandoiler perk, but I think I need the stopping power.

Oh and yes, Angelina Jolie is almost as sexy as your RPD. Haha.

I actually played my first headquarters match yesterday as well. It was fun, and Its an easy way to rack up some experience. I got over 300 points on my first time. Oh and domination on wet works---INSANE. That was so much fun, we had two guys from a clan on there, and everything was really organized, but we were playing against an entire clan, and only lost by a few points. It was nice to hear the guys on my team say, "Airstrike on Bravo, GO GO GO!!!"

D_P - That must´ve been great, I wish there was more teamwork than we see usually.
Sometimes teams become a 'team' quickly and effectively, and it is just great, it's like everyone is on the same tune, and help each other, or understand what the others are thinking are provide that the ´plan´works, even without headsets, which obviously help a lot.
And today I accepted your party invite, but even if the match had started, I don’t know if I could’ve played the entire match, since I was on my lunch break, just playing a couple of matches while waiting for my cooking to finish.

On the P90, I agree that the bandolier is almost a must, but you can have both, since the bandolier is on perk 1 and stopping power on perk 2. It’s the same setup I have on the AK-74u, and works like a charm.
Although the AK-74u has lower magazine capacity, it has quite a few of them, (even without the bandolier, and he switches mags very quickly, which help the action´s fast pace and kind of drives you to more and more killing. :D

And there´s more to the name connection than just that, hence I said that I’d probably get banned if I explained it here. But It’s not hard to figure, so I’ll leave it to you guys’ imagination…

Oh, I was thinking that the bandoiler was on the same perk slot as stopping power. Yea, I bet thats a good combo. But for some reason, I have lost all interest in using the P90. Everytime I try using it, I never finish my kills. Never. I mean I'll hit them like a million times it seems, but they always seem to get away or kill me first. I played one of my worst matches today. I was using the P90 and got 4 and 14 in kills. I dont know how that happened, but now I hate that gun. Ill stick to my blue tiger M16 with stopping power thanks.

Yea I get what you mean about "Angelina". Ill name my M16, when I think of someone beautiful enough. Haha.

""...I never finish my kills"

EXACTLY what I think. And it gets even more ridiculous with the double tap perk, since it only shaves about 20% of the time it takes to kill anyone, but it wears out twice as many bullets.

That's why I now find the AK-74u a much better killing machine, the time it takes to take someone down with it is about 30% inferior as with using the P90, and with less ammo spent too. Plus, you can control the fire-rate much better with trigger tapping, for medium range firing, actually getting kills with 5 or 6 bullets well placed.

And yeah, I have names for the weapons I use the most, must now find a suitable one the the AK-74u. Hmmmm......

Yea, I need to get used to trigger tapping with automatic weapons when shooting at any sort of a range. I want red tiger paint! The blue tiger looks great, but Ive never come across a red one.

I had a red M4 and a red M60, before I went 'prestige'. Now, I still have none, but getting closer with the RPD.

Lately I find that despite being getting more kills, I'm getting less and less headshots...

The thing that annoys me the most is all of the 'spray and pray' people who kill you with maybe two to three shots when while they're spraying I've hit them with 6 shots to the torso from my M16 with SP.

Thats annoying.

I've adopted the idea of naming my weapons, and mainly go with Russian names, cause Russia is interesting to me and I use their assault rifle the most. My regular Ak-47 which I use the most I've taken to calling Виктор (Viktor).
Whenever I go exclusive for sniping I've given the M40A3 sniper rifle I use the name of Татьяна (Tatyana), she's ma baby on maps like Bloc and Wet Work.

Strange thing, I find the first sniper rifle the M40A3 better than the Druganov and M21, since the later takes more than one shot to kill it seems. Kinda wierd.
I've just reached the rank of Major so I think now the Remington sniper is available. Will have to try that and see how it compares.

I liked the R700 the best, even though I don't use sniper rifles regularly.

My G3 is DaVinci, and the M60 is Sidney (after the elephant).

icelt - Dante suits great, Ugolino gets a bit exaggerated for it, it's not THAT mean...
Also, interesting article on wiki, I thought great to have the reference to Jose Saramago's book. He's a Portuguese Nobel Prize winner, his books are works of art (imo, of course). If you're interested, PM me and I'll give you some of his best titles.

EDIT: just got post #500 back there!

EDIT2: Just thought of a good name for the P90: Willy.
