Sounds like pipeline. I like it. Once you know where folks are likely to be or not be, it becomes one of the better maps. There are routes i take around that map in F4A, that i wouldn't bother with in TDM and vice versa.

Broadcast is an excellent map for on-line fighting. Just played Chinatown, hectic map, I preferred it to some, I don't like the one with the big warehouse and the train carriages.

I used to hate Pipeline too, until I got used to it. Now I can rack up kills like mad on it, especially with a silent set up using the tunnels below the warehouses. The best way to learn Pipeline is in a private match with just yourself playing. You'll soon learn to love it.
BTW, can you guys try playing this video and see if it works for me please? I'm pretty sure it didn't upload properly;

If it works, those are some random bits I recorded.

I'd never thought of learning maps through my own private matches.

Just replayed "Death from Above", god I love that mission.

There are allot of things to learn through private match on maps. I had been playing the game a year and while messing around with glitches in private found spots in maps that i had never noticed before.

I hate people who skip Wetwork, going "skeep skeep skeep skeep skeep" down their headset, only to then quit because the next map isn't one of their one favourites.

I like Wetwork and wouldn't mind playing it once in a while.
Wetwork is my favorite map. Good mix of short, med and llong range options and if you use a stealth setup like the one I posted before you can quickly go to the oponents side and get tons of kills. My best has been a 32-6 on HTDM with an AK47 and a picked up Silenced G3.

My Wetwork best was 22-0-0. :D

Yeah i had something like 66-0 once......but that was before they patched it so you can't hex anymore, that means no more god mode/ no clip:dopey: Really i only did stuff like that in private matches but sometimes just for fun i would do it in a public match. I couldn't tell you what my best in any map is really, prob something like 30ish and deaths in the 5-9 range.

This was a week ago :D

I have my days really. Sometimes its like its just not fair for anyone playing me, knifing everything that moves and quick scoping from a mile away etc etc. And then some days i can't even get a kill it seems. I have got fairly tired of playing COD4 and 5 online now because its just the same ol same, so to change it up some now when i play i play knife only! I have set up one class with extreme conditioning, uav, and claymores and all i do is sneak around and knife. Sure i get killed allot more but its kind of fun. Its actually more fun on 5 because of having a bayonet so you can stick them from further away.

I'll be getting this on the PS3 tomorrow so will be able to play with more of you guys online! :D

Daammnnnnnn, on your video at 2:15ish, your streak got ended....

Maybe it is just, me but does anyone here see more going on in the game that just random shooting. I'm not talking about some sort of mystical force, but there are players out there, especially in hardcore mode, who play the game completely differently to how the vast majority do.

For instance, I like to rotate (CW or CCW), around the map completely away from the action. I find that in doing that, I sometimes come into contact with other players who take the same approach as myself. Sometimes it can run into a right ding-dong, where we are shadowing each other trying to get the upper hand.

Other times the player in question is just a runner-n-gunner trying to outflank your team. This is where you will find me. I'm not a camper, I don't need to be, I'm not really a runner and gunner either. what I do is try and break opposing player tactics. Particularly those of the guy (or guys), who are winning it for the opposing team.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it gets the guy in question infurated! This is good, as I find that anger is the enemy of sound tactics. Like I say, you might think that I'm talking gibberish, but take a step back from the action to observe what is going on, and you will find that there is a lot more to COD4 than just running around with a P90!

I love the M14! It's great at long range as long as you let the recoil settle down fully before firing your next shot, and at close range you just fire from the hip aiming towards their lower body and the recoil runs the shots up the body, usually to the head.

I find it all depends on how you tackle the map, that defines how good or bad a weapon is.

If, say for instance, I use an M14. I usually take a more cautious, studied approach, as it is not very strong as a CQC weapon. I usually hang on the edge of the main battle picking off targets of opportunity, whilst using cover and concealment to mask my attacks.

There's something wrong. Hardcore or normal, it should take just a three burst to take somebody down with an M16. My advice would be to start aiming for the chest.

I agree, make sure you hit the upper chest area (from nipples to neck), and they will drop every time guaranteed!

I've racked up something like 30, 40 days on this game, and I've seen it(picked it up) like just once!

I very much doubt you would see it much outside of hardcore. I will admit I see the gun rarely myself, but I do use it myself when I have access to it, and I know one or two friends that swear by it. 👍

I agree, skipping is a sign of a lack of talent! You usually find that those who favour skipping are rigid in their choice of roles - ie, they only run-n-gun.

I'm quite happy to swap to a different role, depending on the map that comes up. Some times it run-n-gun, sometimes its ghost, other times its anti-sniper or even zone defence (not to be confused with camping). :sly:

Chinatown is shockingly bad. As is Creek, really. Both of them have a severe lack of balanced scenery for TDMs. Whoever gets the upper level on Creek has basically instantly won.

Creak is brilliant! I was not initially a fan of the map, but I have grown to love it so much now that I regard it as one of the best maps in the game! There is a whole mini-game within the map, just in fighting for possession of the tunnels! 👍

Yeah, I was gutted about that. He must have come in through the back of that building to get me :(

Or the ladder :(. I know I have come up the ladder and knifed someone sitting where you were...

I have also stabbed someone there from above:sly: I was on top of the roof and when uav hit i seen that little red dot and walked off the ledge and hit the stick and stab right to his head. Sometime i just wish they watched "that" kill cam.

I'm probably gonna get on for the first time in a loooooong while.
Hey, welcome to gtplanet. We hope you enjoy your stay!

That domination match on shipment last night, 57-21, that was the most kills I've ever registered(I only play TDMs). I think the previous was a 51, also on shipment.
Yeah! Free-for-all in the town map (good explanation, it has an outside open market), 16 kills, 7 deaths. 5 kill streak. Felt good, that did. :D
Good job! 👍 When you get the hang of it, you'd be putting up those kind of numbers on team deathmatches, too.
Don't worry, I'm not one of these guys who thinks people who use X gun is a noob,
OK, cool. Just go easy on talking down to the sucky, noob players. I am one. :( :p
no grenades will get you as people tend to throw them to the left and right hand sides of the ship.
Nope, nope, nope, nope. NO! No one listen to this guy, edges are super safe. Haha, straight down middle of the ship, good one, Mog!

P.S. I loved your video. Very nice. 👍 You left your airstrike hangin', like two times. I'm the opposite. When I get the airstrike, I make damn sure I am safe, then "boom!". Something so satisfying about dropping bunch of bombs on top of my enemy team. :D

My Wetwork best was 22-0-0. :D
Sniping? Nice game, regardless. 👍

It was - though I think the helicopter managed more kills than any other weapon I had.

I had a ridiculous couple of games last night. I'm waving the MP44 round at the moment as I'm trying to level all my guns up. Played Countdown and finished 24-0-6 - the second place guy overall managed 13 kills and second on my team managed 11. I knew it was going well when I got "CHALLENGE COMPLETED - Rival" (kill the same guy 10 times in 1 game) popping up.

And then sniping at Overgrown, I shot at a guy's claymore and it registered 3 kills (2 sniper, 1 claymore) from that round and gave me four challenge completion messages at once - the one for killing two people with the same sniper round, one for killing someone with their own claymore, one for killing someone by shooting at an explosive through a wall and one for Barrett marksman (my 100th Barrett kill this time round).

Up to 10 now, after 4 hours play. Did a HQ game this morning, can't remember the name (disused warehouse) and it was great fun. Almost maxed out my MP5 (not the headshot one) and did the 3 streak kill challenge.

Yeah if you wanna level up more quickly to unlock some of the good weapons playing HQ is the way to go, since when you team gets points it gets added to your score.

But sometimes they can be harder to play because the players are generally better.

Yes, on our team of 6, 4 were level 55. I still did pretty well, I thought.

Picked it up today, will be online for a bit now trying to get as high a level as possible!

I think the most I completed with one shot/one burst was three challenges? But the fighting was so intense(showdown), I think I yelled at the TV to get rid of the completion messages off the screen,as it was a series of them.

My favorite challenge completion was the airstrike one, when I wiped out the entire team with it. :D I know I've gotten four, five kills with airstrikes since, but I think that was the only time I got the entire team with one airstrike. It was amusing watching the UAV on that one!

Quick question; is it right that I can't see my friends stats if they're offline? On the 360 version you can always see all of your friends stats whether they're signed in or not.

EDIT: Not that it matters, I can't even get online with it. I just get stuck at the 'Downloading Game Settings' screen. :(
I'm going to try altering a few settings on my router to see if that fixes it.

EDIT 2: Nope, I've set up the correct port forwarding, have a Type 2 NAT, 100% signal strength and a static IP for the console and still nothing! Everything else works, just not CoD4. Anyone else having problems connecting? I'm about to go DMZ my router, see if that works. It's the last option, I guess.

EDIT 3: DMZ worked, will fix the ports properly tomorrow :D

Moglet - quick fix for the "Downloading Game Settings" bug is to take the PS3 completely offline (unplugging the RJ45 if it's wired is good), then back online again.

I'm level 5 now, after 3 games :D I got some good sniping going on on Crossfire, but I'm finding it hard to adapt to using the shoulder buttons the other way round. I tried switching them to the same as the 360 but the rear triggers aren't quite as 'reactive' as the ones on the 360 so changed it back.

I'll be back online later if anyone fancies a few games.

I'll try get online tonight after a few days of not playing. I'm also low level like you Mog, but 7th prestige.

Does taking the PS3 completely offline really fix the Downloading Game Settings screen. I've tried that before and it never got me anywhere but I always noticed that it took me longer to download game settings if I were in the 37-48 level region than any other.

Cool, I'll be online after about 9pm until fairly late 👍

Moglet - you on my GTP_Famine friends list? We do some private, mainly hardcore mode, matches with a small bunch every Friday. Be there, etc.

SSU - yep. Hoik the RJ45 cable out, it has a spack, put it back in, fixed.
