Hey, hey! I've been hammering COD4 lately - I'm determined to get the gold cross before MW2 is released, I think I've got about 4 prestige levels to go.
One thing I would like to pass on to you guys is a nice little trick myself and my clan use regularly (it may of been mentioned before), and we call it 'The helicopter trick'.
Because of the way myself and my clan fights online, we usually have redundant resources at our disposal. This usually manifests itself in there being a man free most times. So with the free man, we use the helicopter trick to dominate and intimidate the opposing team.
What is the helicopter trick? Its simple really, get 7 kills for chopper support, but don't call it in. Now run around like a Johnny Rambo bullet magnet until you die, which is usually loads of fun! When you respawn, find a quiet little corner, and call in the chopper. If the chopper does it job right, you should get the UAV, airstrike, and (if your lucky), another chopper. Do the Johnny Rambo thing again, and die, then repeat.
I did this earlier today on HTDM, and went 32-6 with 4 choppers called in, with 5 UAV's and 5 airstrikes. Suffice to say, we won the game by a clear 400pts! Apart from the obvious benefits of doing this there are a few others too. For instance, because the opposing team are under constant aerial assault, they will tend to congregate inside buildings. Its only a matter of finding out which ones, then malleting them with everything you've got! Another crucial benefit to using this trick is that, because my whole clan practices this trick, we can effectively control who calls in the chopper. We usually always have a chopper on standby as well as the one that is in action, so it can be quite intimidating when you face us.
There are two caveats to using this system though, and they are:
1) Don't call the chopper then kill yourself. Any kills that the chopper gets won't be added towards your streak.
2) Likewise, if you respawn and die shortly after calling in your chopper, the kills it gets won't add to your streak either. I'm almost certain too, that whilst your dead the kills your chopper gets won't be added to your tally OR your streak, so be warned.
If you can combine the 'helicopter trick' with 'spawn management', you can effectively pen in the opposition and annihilate them!
Get back to the war soldier!
