I swear all I will do now is keep backing out of HQ lobbies until I keep getting Shipment, played one game on there, got 115 kills to 36 deaths. The amount of times I mowed down groups of three with my MP5 was ridiculous and so was my points total at the end.

Yeah it does! I started playing with the shotguns as soon as possible as I figure they are probably one of the easiest to get the Gold Camo for, then I'll do the LMG's and the assults, probably won't bother with SMG or Sniper as I hate the guns you unlock gold for.

There are only 2 shotguns in the multiplayer, they're supposed to be obtained the Gold camouflage earlier than any other weapon's :) I see players who have the golden W1014 more often than I see them with other gold-colored weapons

And congrats on entering the 10th round!

Getting a golden shotgun is going to be easier than expected, you only need 100 Headshots for Red Tiger instead of the usual 150. You get Blue Tiger at 50 Headshots, which I've just passed on the W1200.

Also I should say sorry to The Cracker, the invites always popped up as the screen was changing or as I was just about to press circle. My brain only ever registered gtp_dan wants y... , and then they were gone! I would of joined but the only times I did manage to have the invite on long enough was when the server was full.

You didn't miss anything, don't think i had a complete game in the whole session. Hosts kept quitting out all the time. Got very frustrating so in the end i just switched it off.

I had some good games on Sunday (i know you joined in for a few games or vice versa) and was romping through levels. But last night with all the host quits i was just getting so few XP's :grumpy:

Oh, I thought I needed to do a headshot 150 times in the games to gain the red tiger camo for each shotgun. (300 times in the total)

I used to do that sometimes when I played cod4. That map is CRAZY! My record was around 150kills.

Yeah that map is very small so we often encounter with the opposing players throughout the match  I've played on there a few times but I couldn't kill so many

You need to have some luck to do that...and call in your chopper in your next life so the kills counts for your next airstrike/chopper, then you can have chopper out almost the hole round if your lucky :)

Yup, we also require some luck to call in our chopper twice successively, it depends on how our chopper does for us after we requested the help of it. :)

Anyone else still find it a joke that the Map Pack is still £7.99? The damn things been out nearly two years and the game has two successors, both with Map Packs. Activision are such a rip off company.

I think i downloaded mine for £3.99 when they released World at War, the same time they originally had a double XP week/weekend.

The maps you get are good though. Creek is an especially good sniping map. China Town and Broadcast are great once you learn the choke points. Unfortunately Kill House, although great fun, is very small and only crops up in Free-for-all.

Yeah I did have them at one point because my mate let me download his, unfortunately I deleted the PS3 user account they were downloaded onto and I lost them without realising it would delete them. I missed out on the £3.99 deal too, which is a shame but they still shouldn't be priced at £7.99

wow, the weapons look really weird compared to mw2.

lol, yeah they look really badly rendered compared to the new tech that is in MW2, I noticed that when I played COD4 the other day.

Played this again a little bit. I had some mixed results. Most games came easy to me. My worst games, I was getting at least k/d of 2, then I hooked up with nk4e......

First of all, what killed me was our own team. You know, the horrible team that just get ran over. And on the other team, there was one guy who obviously never stopped playing CoD4, who would've been decent even back when everybody still played this game. My k/d just dropped during this stretch.

After starting over in another lobby, games started to pick up again. I had some nice games. Yesterday, I had a game I would've had chopper in the air the entire match after my first chopper, but I had to wait for my teammates' to crash before I can put up my third one in the air.

What changed in this game for me, since coming back after such long absence:

Juggernaut - I actually noticed how much more hits they can take. See the next point, too.

M16 - When I used to play this game, M16 was one burst(3 rounds, of course), one guy dropping(sometimes, 2!). Ceiling Fan used to complain that it took him two bursts to drop people. Guess what, I guess I was a better shot when I used to play, because though I was hitting them, I could sense that my aim was not quite on top. Often, it did take me two bursts, one occasion, two bursts didn't kill my guy, he killed me. Perhaps also the reason why Juggernaut seems more powerful to me now.

The Countdown - Countdown at the beginning of the match. I thought the game was lagging!

AK47 - Since I use SCAR as my submachine gun in Modern Warfare 2, I decided to try the AK the same way. I knew that AK never had good fire rate, but neither did SCAR. Well, what works in MW2 does not work in CoD4. I went back to P90 silenced. :D

i tryed using the m16 but the irons sights are really hard for me to use.

if MW2 had the same set up when it came to n00b tubes, i dont think itd be as much of a problem because scavenger and oma are both tier 1 perks and would not be available if n00b tubes were equiped 👍

I almost never use M16 without the red dot.

Noob tube wasn't a issue in CoD4, but it was the three frag grenades people cried about in that game.

yeah, but, frags would take more skill to use imo.
Nah, frags, you just needed to be good at spamming. It took very little skills, and I don't know if you noticed, but they are somewhat auto-guided.

Welcome back to to Cod4!

I played it a lot last week and i'm now level 52 Gold Star. I think once i get to 55 and have 'done' all the weapons, i can't see me coming back to it again.

Juggernaut is annoying, but on balance there's fewer perk annoyances in MW then there are in MW2. If i get in a game with a lot of Juggernaut users on the other team i usually switch to a weapons class with an RPD. That usually gets around the problem.

Half the people still playing are Gold Cross now so the achievement seems a little hollow these days :indiff:

Those not with full Gold Cross are generally level 55 of some prestige and have probably just got board of the leveling up grind and decided to stick where they are. There are plenty of guys you come across with pre-first prestige badges, but i bet they've all got to GC 55 and so made a new account to begin with again. They certainly don't play like noobs.

It's very rare to have an easy ride through any game you land in these days!

Some people would think the weapons in COD4 look strange, some of them may figure the ones in MW2 look weird. The weapons which appear in MW2 was shaped differently from the original guns used in real life(Especially the AK47), it depends on our preference to them.. :)

ive never really held a gun since elementary school so i dont know whats correct, but, i know what i like. ive always prefered a meatier (erm, ) feeling weapon. plus the cod4 weapons feel like their being held at a weird angle.

Everybody should each have guns that actually exist in real life and we especially like. I've always been fond of the AK47 and sniper rifles, as they look so cool and sniper rifles are very useful in eliminating enemies because we can shoot them at a far distance, even though it's in video games. Not in real life. And I've looked through an article about Captain Macmillan on wiki, I felt it was so intersting because it said he held his rifle wrongly in the two missions he appears in COD4. Not sure about how other characters hold their guns with their hands, it would be nice to check how they have their own guns to compare with other COD-titled games' characters' styles. :D

With the release of MW2, do people still play this online? I only ask becausem, although MW2 was a decent game, I thought the stuff they added to the online side was way over the top and made it very unfriendly for inexperienced players: weapons were too powerful, too many helicoperts/airstrikes, gun turrets, etc...... For people like me who like to go for the Free-for-alls, i thought MW1 was way superior. In fact MW1 was a superior game, period. I havent played it since MW2 because i didnt think people would play it anymore.

I'd love a M21 or M14. I used to want AK47, but if I can't legally own a full-auto(without jumping thru the hoops), what's the use? My #1 pick right now is a modernized version of M1, but I recently bought a Glock, so this will be years away.

I think it's wrong to compare the two. Because CoD4 is just so outdated compared to MW2.

I do agree with you on MW2 being over-the-top. It can be overwhelming for newer players. I think they allowed tad bit much firepower in this one. My AT4 should be banned. :p

I do think CoD4 holds much more important place in history compared to MW2. MW2 I see more as extension of CoD4 than a completely standalone game.

I played CoD4 a week ago or so, and there were still people playing it. There were handful of games where team deathmatch would start with just 3-on-3, but it did fill up quickly at the start of the actual match, and there were no unusual wait time getting into matches. I went back to MW2, but CoD4 was just as fun as I remembered it. 👍
