I could never quite get the hang of doing blindfires like you do, especially after watching one of your videos where you killed 5 people on crash over half way across the map. I couldn't master the timing of when to strafe and fire the shot. Sometimes I could do it but not reliably.

As soon as I saw 'shot of the day' I closed the video, anticipating seeing yet another no-scope headshot across the map, probably through a wall or 2 people or something like that.

No scoping is 96% luck, 4% skill. Really.

Don't hate, appreciate. ;D

How the hell do I earn a trophy in this damn game!?

I played the first level and saved Pvt. Ryan. Didn't get a trophy. I completed the first stage on 'Veteran' difficulty, and no trophy!

Bug?

Are you talking about WaW? If you are, it might be that you have to update it. Or maybe you were playing offline when you did it? I doubt that's what it is, though.

Wrong thread bro...this is Modern Warfare, not WaW

I never thought I'd say this but MW has lost it's touch, for me anyway. I played this game pretty much every day since release up until a couple of months ago, which is about a year and 8 months. I remember playing 4-5 hours a night and enjoying every single minute I played. Near the end of it's reign, I could hardly go a minute or two without getting upset at one thing or another. I know I couldn't always have 3.0+ ratios every game, and I was ok with that, and the only thing that mattered was that my clan won and I had fun dishing out punishment. Well it came to the point where I could not stomach the game any more, and I as well as most of my clan's PS3 players moved on to other games. I've been contemplating making a comeback but I still haven't found strong enough motivation.

So I was right? I'm sure they're nice shots but I just am fed up of no scopes being the 'shot of the day' 'play of the week' etc.

I'm in the same boat, I can't stand more then a few minutes before something or someone annoys me, usually the map design, martyrdom, juggernaut, spawn camping, spawn grenades, dodgy spawn points, no scopers on my own team, still overpowered claymores, a grenade launcher, an RPG... oh you get the idea. All the annoyances stand out to me so much after the 'honeymoon period' when you're still learning the game, to the point I can no longer stand it, and am looking to sell it on.

I hear ya. What usually does me in are dodgy spawns like you said, hit detection, lag, and invincible juggernauts. I guess you could say mostly things that are out of my control. If I die because someone flat out out-gunned me, or got the jump on me, fine. But if I die because the guy is lagswitching or because the a person is hosting on 56k speeds, then we have problems.

Are you right about no scoping being luck? Yeah.
And I'm fed up with all those channels too. I just saw the CoD SOD channel and I sent in those clips for kicks. I've had those in my HDD for about a year.

I've gone through periods where I don't play for a few days(.... like 2 days), but I always end up coming back to the game. On PSN, I've been noticing so many chevron striped noobs, as of late. The trend will probably continue as they recently introduced the $299 slim.

Part about the game that makes me so mad(censoring myself) is that I go through periods where I couldn't do anything different to keep from dying. If I go straight, I die. If I go around, I die. If I run 'n' gun, camp, snipe, die. All the while I'm turning into a chopper & random grenade magnet.

Lag switches, I rarely notice them. Poor connection, I just get the hell out. I've cried about this at least couple of times in this thread before, but when my k/d on Xbox Live dropped from over 1.6 to 1.4-something, I made two changes: 1) Lots & lots of UAV Jammers & silenced P90. 2) When the game gets out of hand, get the hell out.

Enough is enough. I used to play every minute of a match, but now days, when the team I'm on are full of idiots, or the game start turning on me, I pork chop sandwitch(get the hell out) out of there. My k/d on Xbox got back up to 1.61, couple of nights ago. For me, that was a pretty big deal to get that account(grudgingly) back up to at least 1.6. :p It didn't take any time at all falling, but took a long time getting back up!

After a long time out, I actually got back into Cod4 but on the PC. I just had my best run of matches ever, which is saying something given how long I have been playing modern warfare.

8 matches in a row, worst match 45-5 best match 60-3.

I am not normally so consistent.

Leaving a game isn't always an option for me. Since most of the time I play with the clan, I stick around til the end to ensure the win. The only time I leave is when the host has a terrible connection and we all end up re-grouping in the lobby. Something I don't understand either is how I can put out several 5:1, 7:1, 8:1 games and my K/D will stay at 2.7x. I have one 1:1 game or under a 1.0 and my K/D will drop .01 right away.

May I ask how many kills, score/playtime and wins you have?

It's not often I meet someone online who is as dedicated towards the game as I was (I've moved onto WaW again now) - I used to play every single day for around a year. And you seem to think very similar to me - I tend to play with a bunch of friends who are good (not quite a clan, but close) and try to put up with the lag unless everyone agrees to leave. It's pretty annoying, unless I'm or one of my friends are hosting. I get annoyed very easily with things... but it's fun when your team works together to own everyone.

I play on Xbox though, so unfortunetely I can't play with you. I have over 170k kills now... 2.32 k/d ratio. My ratio would be higher because I didn't care at first and played pretty bad. My old PS3 account is at 2.6 I think. :p

On my main account, I have around 80k kills, 21 days played, but not too sure about wins (not even vaguely :dunce:). On my sub-account I have around 15k kills, 3 days played, no idea about the wins HEH. I never bought W@W since it really didn't appeal to me, so I decided to stay on MW. Yeah, I think working together as a team makes it more fun, you don't have yo put up with random players not following the objectives, things like that. I don't care much for K/D since I rack up a lot of deaths trying to capture flags back or headquarters, as long as we get the win. 👍

Yep you seem like a cool guy, it sucks we can't team up. If you ever need to contact me about whatever it may be, you can find me at CoD4Forums.

Yep, used to play HQ a lotttt. Now if I play the game I just play TDM.

Cool. 👍

I've started to become more selective with the games i play. I used to just play whatever games came up and just ride it out if i was having a poor streak. But now, if my connection is poor (under 3 bars) i'll just stop playing. If the hosts connection is bad i'll just quit out until i find a game where i can play without lag annoyences. I just got sick of shooting ay ghosts.

I've noticed more red chevrons around too. They are often quite good though so i suspect they are second or third accounts of much more experienced players.

I don't know about often, but yep, I see them too. When I started up my Japan account on PS3(k/d ratio just over 2), I was probably one of those suspect characters, everybody else rolling their eyes at me. :D I still haven't leveled all the way up on that account yet.

I was bored last night so I decided to make a little multi-weapon video. I played for about an hour, so this wasnt really a montage nor a minitage so I named it an HourTage. :P

Cool. 👍

I mostly played HQ when I needed to level up quick but ever since I stopped at P8 I play Dom and TDM with the clan. If we have 4 or less people in our party, we play TDM. But if we have 5 or more, we play Dom. I only like playing Dom with people I trust because many people always try to capture all 3 flags and when they do manage to capture the 3rd, the spawns flip and we end up getting shot from behind and losing a couple of flags. TDM isn't so bad since we can carry other teammates and still pull off the win.

I love this game again. Over the last few days I've completely changed the way I use my Snipers. Instead of running to 4 or 5 good locations in the map, shooting a few and moving on again, I use the things like an SMG.

My key is to always be moving. Never ever stop moving even when trying to aim at someone far away. Use a combination of scoping and the G-Shot technique to shoot people at any range. I've topped matches on shipment with the M40A3 (ACOG) because I've kept moving in random directions where-as the opposition runs in a predictable path.

On my Xbox account, I have the variety map packs, right?

Earlier this week, I was trying & on my way raising my k/d by another point, then one of those die-no-matter-what slump hits. On top of that, it was like the system decided to put me on one of something like four maps, and nothing else, one of them being the Broadcast.

I was already mad as hell(from the slump hell), and it tried to put me in Broadcast no matter what. I'd turn the Xbox off, go into different game modes other than TDM's, etc., I still end up in Broadcast, so I deleted the damn map pack off the hard drive. And as I suspected, as soon as I did that, I kept getting into easier games. Running with people who doesn't have map packs is running with many noobs. Sadly, I was able to hold my own, but I still wasn't getting k/d of over around 2. :p

At the end of that night, I went to the menu, and on that map download, it doesn't show how much the thing is, so maybe I can download it again for free? I just wanted to share the story with you guys. :sly:

You should be able to download it again, its only 400mb. I cant believe you deleted it...

I've noticed something very odd in the last couple of days.

Everyone with a headset/mic and an Irish accent has been a complete 🤬

Complete.

Like how? I mean, you run into so many jackasses when you play online. I can't really keep track of nationalities, while you do notice a lot of American haters.

Most of the Americans (with headsets) I've played with recently have been great. I've even added two to my PSN Friends list.

But the Irish ones (with headsets) have all been whiny, screechy, abusive, racially abusive, moronic assholes. One even told a Spanish guy who beat them in a previous match to "shut up before I come slit your throat".

I had this idiot from Spain PSN me with nothing but swearing every time I shot him. I wasn't camping or just going after him either, he just got all mardy when I shot him two or three times before he got me back.

I don't get why people are so uptight about it, most of the time they are still having a decent game but if you play better than them when they aren't expecting you too, you get nothing but abuse. Some people take this too seriously.

I get touchy sometimes if I'm constantly being killed without killing anyone and I think everyone does but I don't go PM'ing the opposition with swearing no matter how they are playing, I just put up with it and hope to play better in the next match.
