I generally only play Hardcore games these days - or HQ. So that's what you can expect if you get an invite from me.

I'll be up for a Sabotage or Search & Destroy though if you fancy sending me invites.

Play lots of solo private games in the Multiplayer maps. There's NO substitute for knowing your way round.

I was sniped 4 times yesterday on Vacant from a player in a position I never did work out (Hardcore matches don't show you a Killcam). Had I known where he was I could have worked out how to take him out.

Thats what is great but also vexatious about Hardcore. Its not uncommon to have a vague inclanation of the source of the attacker, however it can be very toilsome to ascertain the exact origin of fire, hence deducing the whereabouts of your antagonist can be tres difficile. This in turn makes killing the ****er rather ****ing annoying. Perhaps even more annoying is that you can take the most innocuous route and still get lambasted by claymores, or get shot by some ****er hiding round the corner.

Ok, I laid it on a little thick at times.

Anyone noticed how it's possible to glitch yourself into that part of the tunnels in Pipeline that are closed by gates on the walls? I've gotten shot more than once by some d-bag hiding in there.

CoD4 is causing something funny to me. Last night when I was at the uncle's house, which is close to the airport, and there was the sound of the airplane landing down. I was like "what the heck, Is it the air strike coming? is it friendly or hostile?
Also, I find it also hard to play other FPS games that you can't aim down the sight when shooting. It just doesn't feel right.

Level 18 after a couple nights (and early mornings.) I played with Minus955 last night, though I admit it was far from my best game. I also got my first win (FFA) with 21/4. I love using the knife, but I kinda suck with it. Is it just a matter of timing?

It's just a matter of being close enough to hit the guy or not.

ceiling_fan - My biggest problem with the knife is that I forget to use it on tight situations; instead of pressing R3, my instinct makes me pull the trigger instead...
But Giancarlo is right. Although I'll add that if you're both moving towards each other, press R3 before you're too close, your guy will sort of gain momentum and 'jump' forward for the kill.
Also, remember that due to lag, knifing sometimes won't work, even though the 'knife-kill' sound is audible.


amar - I've been running agains this {CRO} clan almost daily, I think they're from Croatia. I can't remember all the names, but I memorized some: Mijitz, KAREKA-, Domingos2005
Every single match I did against them was good. I've won some, lost some, but they're always good fun. 👍

IW just released a statement saying they're working on new maps to be released as DLC soon.
They also said no DLC will be released until everyone has the patches. After EU has the connectivity patch, they'll release the 'more stuff' patch.

I got and 27/5 win on FFA today. I'm not even a huge fan of the level, I'm just good at it. I forget the name of the map but it's the one with that little market in the middle. I think I'm level 23/24/25 or something. And I have a little confusion about the story:

You pretty much have the correct guy identified, and if you go back and do the level again and watch closely you'll notice he doesn't suffer a fatal wound.

Yeah I think they just threw that one together for fun and as a final challenge for the "veteran" mode players (and from what I've read a super friggin' hard challenge at that in veteran mode).

Beerz - livin' up to the name there a few days ago. Wow that was absolutely some of the worst spelling I've ever seen, must have been a great night.


2 days into the online mode and I've now bubbled my way up to a 0.92 k/d ratio. Can almost taste that 1.0 now. Gotta admit that at first I hated the LMG's, but in order to finish off the "killer" LMG head shot challenge I've learned a new appreciation for them. Especially the M60 with grip and double tap, nasty little combo if you can deal with the iron sight. That and the RPD with stopping power and deep penetration naturally. They both can be mean little pieces of equipment and great for laying down suppressing fire thus allowing teammates to move more easily.

Has anyone else had problems with lag lately? Of the 9 rounds I played tonight, 7 ended in a "Host ended game" message after having terrible lag. The entire room had a single red bar for signal except one person with full green bars.

I managed to get a 40-9 today at Down pour, I was able to call in 2 air strikes and 1 helicopter support, the G3 does help a lot.

Yes, me and people from GPT clan (which I play with these days) stumbbled upon them once and they are from Croatia I presume. But they've gone from the game we sterted and we've never met them afterwards.

IW have not released any specific details on the maps or cost at all yet, so currently those two very valid questions are unknown.

Personally I would love to see a night time map that needed the night vision, as well as one that makes better use of the 'swimming pool' area and ferris wheel in Bloc.
