Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare

Forgot to mention that last week I had some pretty solid FFA performances, well for me. One that stood out was a 28-3 (or so) on overgrown with a couple of helo’s called in. Also happened to be the 1st time I consciously employed the feigning death technique (anyone using the tactical control setup knows why I used the term consciously). Worked like a charm too, although I kinda felt bad for the other player as I know all too well what it is like to fall victim to this gambit. But boy did I have the Cheshire cat grin going as he stopped firing and reloaded while slowly advancing towards my prone position… followed shortly by a 3shot burst from my M16 and curtains :D

Later that day I was working the survival sixth sense apparently as I was 18-0 in a domination match on bog with about a minute to go. Alas instead of being smart and hanging back to finish off that “survivalist” (or whatever it is called) challenge I failed the frosty test and finished 19-1. :ouch:

Edit--- KS is only 18, therefore kinda hard to go 19-0.
 
I had some pretty decent match results tonight, its been awhile since I had played so I was expecting to be completely slaughtered in a massacre of RPD fire...however, I wan't. Infact quite the opposite really.

Mt first match I played was a stonker! It was a Domination at District, one of my most hated maps, I managed to rack up 31 kills (No..not in a streak) but survived with having only 5 deaths. I was rather chuffed. So my team and I managed to continue to win another 2 games, with me topping the results table with kills. I also must give a thumbs up to someone called UK Farce or something like that, he was awesome and me and him had a bit of rivarly against each other!

Then I felt like moving on to the Team Deathmatches, and yet again I was racking up kills, granted not as much as in the Domination games but still enough to rank up to rank 35. I think it might be able to do with my new setup of M4 Carbine with Double Tap and my trusty little pistol which I can't remember the name of, or that its just pure luck....

One or the other, its been a good night for me.

Also, the new grenade kill cam is awesome, not that I saw it much...:D

Which ones? I didn't get any whilst I was playing. I saw you were online just before I went off to have some tea, by the time I got back (Around 7:00) I played a couple more matches and that was it. I didn't recieve any, sadly.

Also, completely off topic of the other half of my post, the quick mute option is awesome! Means I don't have to listen to anyone else's babble.
 
Ahh, Must have caught you when you were having dinner. I waited 10 minutes after I party invited you, and then continued playing matches.

Yeah probably, sorry for the inconvience I may have caused. Although you probably would have put a end to my winning streak....:scared:
 
Ok, I presiged last night, and dident play afterwards, I have to tell you, its really not that bad, you just have to put up with a ****ty gun for a day... If it takes you longer than a day to unlock some other guns, you don't deserve the new icon...
 
I'm already rank 28 or 29. :crazy:

I've actually used the M16 the most anyway (so far I've Marksmanned III the M16 and the M4. MP5 soon.)

Anyway, I was wondering if anybody is with me on this. Who hates Search & Destroy? I hadn't played it in forever but it came up in Team Tactical. For some reason I find it very uncomfortable when all your teammates a watching you... :/
 
I love it, I suck at it, but 50 points whenever I get a kill? 👍

I quite like it, only on a good connection. Most games you can get away with it but reaction time is key in that mode.
 
I felt like that too when I played S&D.

I kept thinking: man, these guys must all be talking about how much I suck at this...

Especially because spectating in 3rd person makes many of the things the player does, like where he's currently looking at, what really is in his line of sight at that moment, or even if he's checking to see how many players are still alive on the map, look stupid for whoever's watching.

...and also because I sucked.

And if I'm gonna toot about the good I guess I have to own up for the bad... just went 0 & 8 scoring 2 pts in a TDM :dunce:. Playing with GT no less. I can has suxrz.
 
Reminds me of a weird match at Countdown. I had 2 kills, 8 deaths, and 10 assists. Apparently G36C w/o Stopping Power isn't strong enough outside of hardcore for my playing style.
 
Well those Search and Destroy matches with you and whoever last night Ceiling_fan were pretty bad, I probally sucked the most, Although I'm getting much more confident in carrying the bomb... although I really do die way to fast in those matches...
 
:lol: Well, last night (and ceiling_ran knows this), I kept getting in games where the host would end them right as they started, and I was getting within 20 points of level 51, and I finally got into a game, which ended about halfway through, and put me at 1 XP from my goal, which I then proceeded to join 3 more games that all ended at the start, until finally when I joined feiling_can's party, and I got 15 kills in one match :p

Speaking of running, I sprint too much. A LOT of my deaths are from not drawing my weapon fast enough (but then again I get a lot of knife kills...)

My problem is (being primarily a sniper or sharpshooter of some sort) is being caught out by dodgy claymores in laggy games, i set the mines up covering entry points, enemy runs through BOOM, enemy keeps running despite having been ON the mine on explosion... enemy is now firing full auto at me, i now have:
a) half a second to live
b) blast with single shot weapon (USP or G3 atm) and hope they die first
c) KAMIKAZE KNIFE CHARGE!
d) RUN AWAY LIKE A LITTLE GIRLIE!

If the gaps big enough i often make the flee and set up some kind of trap as they either chase or try to cut me off, but if im upstairs somewhere i often have to blast and hope which is fine and usually gets the kill. But why cant my mines just work every time! The knife charge sometimes just seems to shock people, they sneak round thinking oh, easy money he has a sniper, then AHHHHHHHH the nutters actually advancing towards me!

That was a really funny post. But yea, if you run really fast, most of the time, you can evade a claymore with just being injured. Try adding sonic boom to the mix if you can afford the perk.

BTW, I'll send you a friend invite today, I could use some sniper support. haha.
 
It increases the damage of explosive devices. Nades, C4, Claymores, etc. I dont know how well it works though, ive never used it.

I could use any sort of support. Not having a headset makes it really difficult to get any assistance. Anyway, dont expect me to rack up lots of kills, i generally finish kinda mid table in games but have a really good ratio. Accept Vacant, I rarely manage anything special on Vacant with any weapon unless i get the outdoor spawn.

I assume this works with Martyrdom as well? That's a recipe for ownage at HQ Shipment... :scared:

Everyone gets shot or blown up by someone elses 'nade before your Martydom one would go off! I dislike Shipment with a passion unless its a very small game OR a private knife only / headshot only :P.

In other news almost got my blue R700 Wednesday night thanks to the latest patch almost doubled the headshots i had with it previously. AND I currently can't join any games online :scared: it says 'downloading game settings' AFTER i hit 'Find Game' and just wont load. Am i alone in that??

Funny you mention that, I had a really fun private match today. Here was the setup.

10 people
9 lives each
old school mode
knife only
regular health (so you die in one slash.)
no airstrikes or grenades

It was so funny jump-slashing like crazy. :lol:

And I won with 18:9 ratio D

I'm rank 35 now. :crazy:
