I'm starting to lose my patience with this game. Downloaded the 1.04 patch for the PS3 with the free DLC cars, game STILL freezes up when playing WSR mode. Reinstalling the game (AGAIN), followed by 1.04 and will see if it fixes it.

So, where is this update and free DLC cars? I can't find them myself.

The update should be automatic when you enter the game. It's for the next DLC which hasn't been released yet. The previous 3 DLC free cars you can find on PSN (Super Modified Civic, Drift Camaro, Performance Golf).

Ah, ok. Will these work only online or offline as well?

Spa DLC is live it seems. Some regions might take a while to update their PSN store though.

Judging from the reactions in the official forum, people think it's way overpriced. I'd agree with them as well, considering we had Spa in Grid 1, the Z4 in Dirt 2, and the stock Zagato already in the game. If they bundled this one with Bathurst then it might be worth it. As it stands, it's EA levels of rip-off...

I find it funny that many people give PD a lot of flak for Standard cars, when other developers are doing exactly the same thing. Sure they don't reuse assets from last gen, but PD's premium takes many more man-hours than other games' models. CM could've easily included all tracks and cars from Grid 1 and doubled it. You just wonder what they did between Grid 1 and 2. I know they made 4 Dirt and 4 F1 games in that time, but still...

I find it abit disappointing that they didn't even get the Current Z4 (E89), they just reused the Z4 from Dirt 2 (E85). That's just lazy considering they got the other three GT3 cars. I'm not buying anything for this game. That McLaren, Indycar and other DLC is is pretty it and I'm sticking to it.

Also, WSR mode is working now but I'm beginning to question if I should even continue with this game.

Not getting this one, for the reasons above. Will definitely get Mount Panorama and the utes though, at least they're some new cars (not sure on the differences between the rally Sierra and the ATCC version).

It hasn't been since I've gotten back on. Everything loads up just fine now.

So, apparently, there's a demo, at last. Having just tried it out, I'm left speechless. I can't believe how poor this game actually is. It looks and plays awful. Poor graphics, jaggies, terrible framerate, blurry UI texture and the TrueFeel system is a complete joke.

Multiplayer must be also one of the most unpleasent gaming and racing experience I've had in a long time. Very poor framerate and screen-tearing just about everywhere. Not to mention the competition the game attracts. Forget everything you know about clean, close and intense racing. I tried.

I was going to pick up a potential ''Complete Edition'' of this game but that's entirely out of the question now. Visually unimpressive (GRID1 looks far better than this garbage on the PS3) and poor gameplay. Underwhelming to say the least.

Must be the PS3 version then as it looks and runs fantastic on PC.

Yes, it is as I mentioned. While the PC version usually looks superior, this is just straight-out repelling in comparison. I don't understand why and how it manages to look and play this bad. Every other game from Codemasters that I own (GRID 1, Dirt 1, 2 & 3) looks and plays fantastic on the PS3.

I guess I will have to install the demo on my PS3 or 360 to see what your seeing, I am curious.

I'm playing this on a 42'' TV. It does perhaps play a part in why I find the visuals so massively dissapointing but none of the previous games I mentioned have looked this bad. Washed out, blurry and low poly. It's as if I'm using component cables. I'm usually not a graphics-whore, but I cannot help it but to find it atrocious.

Giving it another chance as we speak, the TrueFeel system is simply woeful. You either grip or drift. The transition between them is almost non-existent. I had a good laugh at Codemaster's PR bullcrap about it, and for a good reason. For a now dedicated racing game studio, the physics should've been so much better. I've had no problem getting accustomed to it so far, but it's not exactly the most optimal for a racing game.

If I'd have to highlight some positive aspects of the game/demo, it has to be the California Coast track. I really like the flow of the track and its sorroundings. The damage model gets an honourable mention.

I AM using component cables, and for me it looks great, on par with GRID or better. Unfortunately that's it. There is a LOT that is awful about this game, one thing I have been raging about in particular, and seeing as there are TWO Global Challenge overtake events in Chicago, which has asphalt equivalent to ice apparently, I'll make one more enraged statement.

After attempting to do these in a clean NSX(God Awful doesn't begin to describe it) and SLR(better but not by much), I believe the only way for the persons who 1)thought it up, 2)thought it was a great idea, and 3)programmed the AI trucks that make George W. Bush look like Einstein, the only recourse I can think of is that they voluntarily string themselves up to the rafters somewhere by their toes with piano wire. I am sooooooooo pissed right now, the only thing I can think of is bashing someone's head OFF with something. Why am I being punished for participating in you're BS Codemasters?

With the Online experience of last week, the Challenge BS of this week, AND the retarded penalties in F1 2012, I can't go on. Codemasters can consider me lost money, because they obviously don't give a damn about the players over the money.

Grid 2 is an utter waste of money! Worst on line gameplay one will ever experience. Tons of frustration rather than any enjoyment. 99% of all players I've met online all behave like 2 year olds who just want to bash you out the way at any given chance.
If you are considering this game, my suggestion would be to rather save your money and DO NOT buy this game.

In my online experiances, I've actually managed to find rooms that have collisions disabled each and every time and they were just quick join rooms.

Thanks Racecar. Will look out for rooms with collisions disabled. If I have no luck, I will jus set up my own room with those settings and wait for people to join. It would be awesome if we could set up a private room strictly for gtp members who have clean racing etiquitte.

As usual, I have no idea where that is, so it's probably nowhere near me.

Oh and don't tell me to Google it 'cause I'm on teh fone and internet is slow enough as it is. :grumpy:

I assume the name Southam means it's up north.

I considered participating when Loore posted it on your official forums, but...
  1. I most likely would never be able to make it (due to work and other time constraints).
  2. That's not how you ''hype'' your game.
  3. You've got plenty of feedback on your forums and on social media already.
  4. Announce the ''super-secret'' game when you feel it's the right time to do so, tell us your vision, goals and deliver accordingly. If possible, show us some early gameplay footage, screenshots or artwork.
  5. And lastly, a quick tip for the future: DLC should be your very last priority and based entirely on community feedback. No more worthless and retail specific pre-order packs or severely overpriced DLCs. It's not only confusing but off-putting as well.
