So, Nations Cup! Originally I was planning on going to use the Lexus- even did some practice with that car. But then I realized I don't have a livery, and so as I was searching one I remembered @RCKakashi14's Jollibee (a local fast food chain) livery and I said hey why not use that instead for a good laugh! The livery was on the GT-R though so... I switched cars last minute

Onto qualifying, and it was a flawless as it could ever have been. My first hotlap I overstepped my bounds and got a .5 second penalty, which, to my surprise was good enough to hold provisional 3rd (eventually 4th) at the time! Anyway, I'm confident I can do much better so I got into the pits, changed tires, and did the remaining 2 hotlaps. What do you know it was good enough to place me 3rd! I'm ecststic these people behind me are usually the ones I see fighting for major points in the front field, so getting to see that view for myself is amazing

Onto the race. Lap 1, Turn 1. I'm sort of scared thst anyone might crash to me so I went wide and extended the track limits. No harm done, didn't get a position because of the extension, but that did allow for 4th to get much closer. And oh boy, this whole race 4th was chasing after me like a hungry alien ready to dine on my mortal head

I didn't want to go 110% again like I did last time- it's too risky considering I'm planning a no-stop. I also sort of forget how to defend and stuff when I go into quali mode, so there's that quirk as well

For the majority of the race it was just a defensive battle against 4th. It was amazing, side by side battles, undercuts, outbraking each other, you name it, we probably did it. Eventually we moved up to second and third as the NSX in P2 had to pit for new tires (the only guy who pit in that race I think), but it looks like that was the way to go. With only 4 laps remaining, I turned TC to 1 fearing that I might choke it with these mauled tires. Good thing I didn't, but my pace was so way off, even in relation to third behind me who didn't pit either. They eventually got past me, and now the NSX was on my tail as well. He did no effort passing me at all, but he had a 2.7 second penalty (had a .5 myself though), so all I had to do is get within a second of him.

Last lap, last turn. He brakes, I brake as well but a bit later. @sundaydriving was right, the start/finish line was way closer than you think ended up fourth due to not being able to properly burn my penalty. But ya know wat, I ain't complaining!

Well I managed to go from pole to finishing 17th in the Manu Series, thanks to heavy damage and my stupidity. On lap 6 I came out of the pits in 5th, passed 4th place easy enough. I made 4.5 seconds to catch up to the driver in second but he just would not let me pass and in result we both lost alot of speed, that allowed the driver in 4th to catch up at the right time and he passed me. So I sat back and let them battle it out and wait for my opportunity. Last turn on lap 7 they were wheel to wheel and drifted wide, so I took the inside but I gave too much gas coming out, spin into the wall and damage everything. I had to go to the pit to repair(luckily they were right there), so did one of the other guys battling ahead of me. The lesson here? Had I been more patient I would have been able to get 3rd since one of those guys ahead had to bail, not to mention I most likely would have passed the other driver because I was really driving well and I believe he had mediums and I was running softs. And then of course I spun out and hit the wall at the exact same place on my next out lap and had to go BACK TO THE PIT, so that's how I ended up at the very bottom. Absolutely brutal race. I was racing my fastest I think I ever have, it was my first race using my wheel after practicing hard on it all week. Such a bummer to have such a gut wrenching finish.

Good thing Cipher didn't bear witness to possibly the worst race I've ever raced on this game. Bottled both qualifying laps, glanced the wall of chumps on lap 3 forcing a two-stop strategy which obviously didn't pan out. Finished last.

At least I managed to repair my shaken confidence in the Nations race after, though not before bottling two more qualifying laps. But I eventually set a 1:21.5xx and had a good race. In other words, I didn't get killed on lap 1.

One of the most exciting races I've had in this game yet. Lots of very close battles and overtakes.


I picked Citroen because it was the weakest MFG after the first week. It's a fun car.

Damn, that heavy damage is a DR killer in FIA races!
PD need to adjust this damage rate, for every small race incident you may loose a lot of engine power plus extra seconds in pitstop .
The first corner in Red Bull Ring race sent a lot of guys in pitstop yesterday, right from the first lap and it wasn't bad behavior from anyone there as far as I saw.
Looks like it's better now to start the race from the back of the grid, they put fear in your heart with that heavy damage!

@ramurel . I took exactly that philosophy. Didn't even bother setting a qualifying time and started at the back. By the end of lap 1 I was 12th just from passing penalty servers and damaged car. Bit of a stalemate in midfield so pitted early at the end of lap 4 for clean track. Ended up 4th after all the pit stops without really battling for position at all

I sometimes struggle with close wheel to wheel racing and not losing out to more aggressive/better racers so always try and think of what @Tidgney says of "try and race smart"

Nice win. There was no way I was going to catch let alone get close enough to overtake you towards the end.

I had a hairy moment the same lap and corner that Nik crashed and I dropped a good second or more to you. I can imagine he saw this as an opening, got greedy and spun off. I took it a bit more cautiously after that, especially through t1. Which allowed the guy behind me to draw up real close, eventually losing the place to a stupid penalty.

He was on mediums front super softs rear.

Odd as it sounds I'm almost glad for the track limits at the first corner there. It helps to avoid first corner incidents. Not that they can all be avoided.

I Keep ramming the car a second behind me with my right rear suspension. The same thing happened twice in one race so I guess it must be my fault

@speedychicken how did you get damage into T1? Did somebody tap you from behind, or was it just a bit of late braking?

I asked Nik how the races went and he said that Lion-Face lagged braked into him at T3 on L2, so he received front spoiler damage and Lion-Face got away clean. He said he messed quali up too, was up 4 tenths in the last sector, went a scratch too wide on the 2nd last corner, and a penalty meant minimal improvement, though still good enough for 2nd row. :/

To stay at ~1 second behind 1st with front damage for around 9 laps, considering he had to put up with more tyre wear is a very good effort, though it's a shame he spun out as he did.

@sundaydriving you two might've been able to have a good scrap for 2nd if Nik didn't spin out. How many pts were up for grabs?

1st was 2.5k points also, i crashed into the wall at t1 took it too wide hahaha, didn't want to hold up anyone behind but didn't think how far ahead i was until i hit it and looked back lol

I won my first FIA Race! Couldn't believe it. Didn't think my qualy lap was anything special, turns out was good enough for 3rd. Was into 1st by turn 2 and kept it for the rest of the race! Bit of luck involved, but stoked with the result!

Speedy appear to just run too fast through the corner and ran wide into the wall. Unfortunate as he had done so well to get pole and had the pace to win.

And I assume by 'lag braking into him' he means that I put on the brakes at the regular time, and he hit the back of me. Only slightly, it was minor and I'm surprised he got damage. Also explains why he didn't catch me again as I wasn't running overly fast, just pacing myself.

Nik said previously that you both braked at the same time going into T3, but just before the turn in, your car appeared to move a few metres backwards instead of forwards lol. XD

I'd say it was a little less careful from his side though because there was still another 11 laps to go and backing off and attacking later would've been the way to go instead of a chance of suffering damage for risking a lunge a little too far back.

I'm no fan of heavy damage either, but I'm torn. On one hand it's certainly more realistic. One little mistake can easily ruin your entire race, your fault or not, just like real life. On the other hand, we're playing a damn video game, who cares let us race!

My ideal version of heavy damage would act similarly to light damage except the effects are more exaggerated and last longer before they fix themselves, an extra pit stop just takes way too long and in such short races compared to real life it is just too much of a killer.

It's very good to drive , need to be smooth and concentrate on the driving line.

Some others are around 3 seconds slower but also very fun to drive , like the Nissan R32 , Alpine A110 '17 , Ford GT'66.... but the 2 cars above are really superior for sure.

i lost 1000dr points in the manu race last night. got hit and spun into the wall on lap 3, major damage, limp to pits, took an eternity to fix. ended up just driving to the end in last. although my car number was 16, i could have maybe finished better had i not been taken out. the person who took me out finished 10 and with no penalties. tough race!

A nice as it is I think the S-FR is far too slow down the straights to be useful in the race. Not sure about 3s off the pace either, especially the Ford. KTM would be a blast. Ford seems more stable.

I've tested those cars , check the top 10 americas , 1 KTM for 9 SFR . Of all the +3sc cars the one i prefer is the Nissan R32, it drive so well , a real pleasure.

bit late but here's my Nations Cup race from Wednesday - didn't have time to do both races sadly and i fancied a go in the Gr.2 cars for a change over the same old Gr.4 cars



qualified 3rd which was slightly better than i expected, but got a rubbish start (totally missed the lights for some reason) and dropped to 5th. the car behind was definitely faster than me but seemed a bit cautious trying to overtake (fair enough, would rather them be over cautious than not at all!) so couldn't make a move stick. then for some reason i decided to do the no stop strategy and moved up to 3rd, but was losing 3-4 seconds per lap on the cars who did stop. ended up dropping to 6th, a few seconds behind the car i had been holding off before the stops. whether he got ahead due to putting in faster laps when he wasn't stuck behind me, or because the strategy just didn't work for me i dunno, but i'll take 6th - bagged me my highest points total of the season and put me 2nd in London for the season so far 👍

Trust, I thought about the R34. Tyre wear is the unknown. Look how much weight is added to the FD. Imagine the Skyline.

Seeng as there are more Japanese players in my/our region, maybe we'll see some classic Super Taikyu or JGTC liveries. Shame it's only one race.

I seriously thought I messed it up. I had TCS 0, was sliding out of the final turn to start my lap. Felt slow through T1. Set TCS 2 and just got on with it.
At the back straight, the speed looked good at 200km/h. I hit the brakes real early. Too early. I scrubbed off lots of speed way before turn in.
Felt slow in the esses only used 3rd gear through the middle section.
The Four Brothers took forever.
When I crossed the line, I knew I was slower than my previous best. First lap in the M4:

1.6 seconds faster than the A110!

Edit: After 8 laps. I believe someone with skills can use this to beat the X-Bow/GT40/S-FR. Tyre wear might be tricky. BoP reads like the Supra, A45, RX-7.

I'm imagining the N300 DT Gardens race is going to be inundated with X-Bow's, M4's and S-FR Racing Concepts... I want to use at least one of those cars but at the same time I'm really tempted to go with the FD or the R32.

I just realized that you can actually cut the sausage kerbs and serve the penalty in the braking zone into the hairpin .
