Anyone have any tips on strategy for Interlagos this weekend? Medium & Hard are both required. It feels like one stop is the way to go? Also, I'm 99% sure the lobbys I've been in are running the correct settings but you get left with so much fuel in the tank by the end of race. It's basically double what is required?!
One stop. Fuel is not an issue which is perfectly fine by me.

With the current penalty system(or lack thereof), that’s when it’s time for Good Will Punting to make an appearance. ;)
Oh I loved that movie! Heard it won an Oscar.

Outrun Slophy for tonight. Since it's RS tires I gotta try it out and see what sort of Thunderdome chaos ensues.

After 3 catastrophics races on my EU account , bad qualif , mid pack , lot of contact sended to grass several times.
Then 1st race south america , good qualif + stream , good pace , no mistake ,people wanting to print pace more than unecessary overtake . 2d place and very good fun race.
Brands hatch 17 laps need a lot of concentration or you're out.

Only had time for 1 go at the Nations tonight and it turned into a very strange race. Somehow qualified in 2nd with a 1:27.9, on what felt like a pretty scruffy lap, but accepted it.

Race kinda followed the scruffy approach of the quali, with me making lots of little mistakes. Fell back from 1st fairly quickly and got snaffled by the guy in 3rd when I was slow out of the 1st corner. Managed to sit behind him until the pitstops, and thought I would go a lap longer and see what happened. Unfortunately for me when I did the pit stop, the tyre change went ok but the fuel just kept going in no matter what I pressed. Ended up taking the full 100% so that dropped me back into the pack so ended up 6th.

Managed to get my composure back again and started pushing the guy in 5th, but coming around Sheene he went a bit wide so I ended up on the outside going into Stirlings which left a little bit of space for the guy behind to try and push into. He gave me a couple of taps and managed to get a little ahead going into the last corner. I thought I was far enough along that I could hold the inside, but he attempted to take the corner normally and we came together.

Unfortunately for me he wasn't very happy about that and then he chose to use the penalty system to its fullest and gently guided me into the gravel trap at the 1st corner which dropped me back to 14th. Ah well, live and learn :)

Filthy racing at Brands Hatch this evening with the penalty system being "disabled".
This is the two last laps of my Nations race this evening. It features me bottling turn 1, a spaniard sending a frenchman to the shadow realm and a desperate hunt on the last lap.

Originally, I was going to pass on today's Nations race, but with my DR on the verge of A-rank, I had to do it.

I qualified 6th. Could of had a better lap time and possibly started higher, but on my second go around the track where I was getting faster sectors, I overdid the final turn and spun out. Disappointing, but I'm glad my original time was enough to start in the upper positions. The race went well for the most part. The only issue I had was after pitting on lap 7, where I encountered a McLaren on a really worn set of mediums. Even during the race, I could tell his tires were bad because he was sliding around a couple of turns. But he wouldn't give up his position at first, which was quite irritating, but he fortunately decided to back off enough for me to get around him after the back straight. It was smooth sailing from there, as there were no other cars near me for the rest of the race.

I potentially could have finished higher if I didn't mess up my qualifying, but my DR is now A-rank, so mission accomplished. :)

Don’t know how people are going 8-10 or even more laps on soft tires with the Trophy, mine were fried after about 5. Decided to do 7S/10M. Was out to lunch on mediums but probably would’ve ended up getting in the grass on worn softs. Luckily had enough of a gap I still got 12th which isn’t terrible with car #9 and qualifying 13th.

Surprisingly clean race in the NA 3rd Split (?), didn’t see any contact all race and only a few people ended up spinning on their own.

It’s probably been a few updates since I’ve driven it but the Trophy seems a lot more fun to drive than it used to be.

I saw your post before my race and figured I would do 6S/6S/5S. But somehow after 6, my tires still looked decent. So I decided to see how far I could stretch them I pitted on 9 and grabbed fuel. I ended with just a 1 stop. I think steady driving is the key. Even my 8th lap was within .4 of my best lap at the time and was also my second fastest at the time. I ended up doing 9S/8S, and Q5/P4.

I didn’t have any traffic to contend with. It was just me and another guy for most of the race. That may have had something to do with it!

Had to run 2 races in tonight's Nations race. In the first race I was 1 of only 3 non-Slophies in the race (2 Alfa 4C's, myself included, and a Lexus RC-F were the only interlopers in the Slophy Cup). I qualified and finished 15th after some sloppy driving in qualifying and the race.

In the 2nd slot of the night, after some practice, I calmed my driving style down and actually qualified 5th. 1st place ran off and left 2nd through 6th fighting each other until the pit stops. In the end I finished 4th and bagged 151 points. I was also the best-finishing of the non-Slophies (there were only 2 of us in the race - my 4C and a Cayman that finished towards the back). I'd actually planned to skip this race because I've always hated the Brands Hatch GP circuit, despite it being a fast, flowing circuit, which is usually the type of track I like best. I didn't even think I'd get a top 10 here.

Anyone having problems entering the Manu race? Using my alt account, I've restarted my PS4 3 times. My normal account is working fine.

My screen is stuck with the red background and loading circle.

Edit: Dagnabbit! That's one slot missed.

Everything was fine. I was racing in my main account. Switch to the alt and it was stuck in the MAnu screen. Restarted 3 times. Restarted again, cleared cache, the race screens are trying to load, but all the race info is displayed. Posting video shortly.

Edit2: Restarted again(5th time). NOW it wants to work. Incredible....

Were you at any point logged in with both accounts at the same time? I once had something weird happen that persisted through multiple restarts by doing that. I concluded the safe thing to do is to restart the PS4 every time you want to switch users, or as a minimum first log out from one user before logging in as the other user, rather than switching users which leaves you with both logged in at the same time. It could have just been a coincidence, but my problem happened close to when I logged in as a 3rd user at the same time.

See how we go...

I log out when switching accounts. I'll start restarting the PS4 each time I switch.

Edit: Well okay then... 93pts.
The 2nd place SLS got bumped off at T5(?) 90degree left-hander, by the 4th place Jag. It hit my right rear corner first, I moved left to avoid the SLS and the Jag finished it off. That was messed up. Pitted when the leader pitted( Lap 6). I switched from RH-RM. Brought it home.

GT-R surprised me. Wasn't laborious like I thought it would be. Stayed composed the whole race.

I’m getting this with my main account. Has happened last couple of FIA races. Just hangs on the red screen for ages. Missed a race last weekend because of it. Did the whole rebooting thing that didn’t make any difference. I’ve just found if you wait long enough it eventually goes through. Just means you have to leave plenty of time to enter!

Please help me because I've got no idea!
Just did two Man Cup races at Brazil, and both times I've been slapped with a post race 20 sec penalty and I don't know why?
Even got a clean race bonus in the second race, but still got bumped down from 4th to last after I crossed the line.
Is it because I ran RM tires the entire race? That's the only thing that I can think of...

You needed to use both RH and RM tyres; it is in the race lobby screen and in the race details tab.

Not that but I did have a really weird glitch today that’s never happened before, my right paddle wouldn’t do anything and my left paddle was shifting up for some reason? It’s never happened before and all buttons were mapped properly I unplugged the wheel and nothing changed, took the rim off of the base and it didn’t help, reset the game and nothing, I had to reset the whole PS4 for it to go back to normal. It was really weird.

Was in @Lost Sheltie's split for the race yesterday. My quali lap was ok other than Graham Hill Bend where I almost lost it which cost me a decent chunk of time and that put me midpack. The first stint was pretty clean, was just trying to stay out of trouble whilst saving fuel so didn't fight anyone too hard. Pitted lap 8 and managed to jump 4 people once all the stops were done. About halfway through the 2nd stint I had a quicker driver behind me on fresher tyres who I also let go, mainly cos I didn't want the pack behind to catch and I thought maybe I could latch onto him to chase the guys ahead but in the end nothing much happened after that and I ended up with my best score in the Nation's Cup for this season. Relatively happy with how it went, don't think I had the pace to finish as high as I did.

Yesterday's Nation Cup went well for me!
Went with the Slophy, but it was my first time driving that car since I've got the game, so there's my excuse.
Did one race only, was terrible at qualifying, so started 16th. I went with the one stop strategy, pitted on lap 9, went in at 6th place and came out 13th, went up a bunch of positions, had some great battles against people and finished 5th! :D
For my first time, I'm pleased with the result!

Manu at Interlagos
Looks like mediums for 4 laps and then one stop for hard tires for the rest.
Any other strategies out there ?

That's essentially it but stretch out those mediums for as long as the lap times are faster than you can do on Hards.

It will be car dependent of course but look after them and you should get more than 4 laps from mediums. I guess FF and 4WD cars will be a challenge though.

There's also the question of which tyre to start on. If tyre wear is an issue it might be better to start on Hards so the car is lighter when you switch over. If people around you start on mediums you'll be under pressure in the early laps though.

Yep I think you summed it up well, starting tire for me will depend on qualifying, if I'm 10th or lower I'll chance starting on the hards and hoping to stay with the pack till I pit. Hard to get away with it above 10th as like you said you'll be under so much pressure there's a good chance of losing the slip stream train.

So, last night i had one of my greatest races so far on Nations Cup. Being familiar with Brands Hatch and the Mégane, i put a little more effort on the practice sessions. First race, first slot, staaaaacked lobby full of the Red Puma Shirt guys - Didico, Hellzfire, Bonelli, Loyrot etcetera. I didn't qualified well, started 11th and got disconnected on the beggining of the race, total bummer. Had time for only one more slot, hoping things would go better this time, and oh boy oh boy

Pole Position baby! Against the red shirts, on top of that! :D (Nevermind Didico binned his flying lap and started last, thankfully). I just murdered that lap, sure it's just qualifying but the adrenaline burst i felt when i got that was something else.

Hooowever, starting first means i had no slipstream to save tires or fuel. Yet, i was so focused i was getting only 1'28s before the pit, instead of some 1'29s at the end of the stint like i did on practice. Managed to keep my 1st place till the pit stop, but since i had a little less fuel than the opposition and overfueled a bit, i got out at 3rd place. At the end of the stint, as usual with the pad, my times began to drop, and i fell to 4th place. And then, out of nowhere, Didico comes flying past me to claim my position. Almost fell to 6th on the last lap, but not only i managed to defend well, i gained a position due to D1 running out of fuel on the last straight.

Didico started last and almost won, just to show how these guys are on another level  Major respect and congrats to Hellzfire too for the victory

As for me, a very satisfying 4th place, though i think i could've been on the podium if i fueled less, i finished the race with half a lap on the tank. Something to watch for on the next races, i guess. Thanks for watching :gtpflag:

I'm really starting to regret choosing the Megane over the Megane Trophy when I signed with Renault Sport. The Megane is so rough on the front tires and I keep on hearing how much better the Trophy is on tire wear. I haven't had a lot of time to do practice laps this week but I do think I got a pretty good feel for the tire wear for this race. I really don't see getting more than 4 laps out of the RM with this car. And I don't see getting 8 out of the RH, either. That makes it a two-stopper when everyone else is doing one. I'm going to try 4/4/4 the first race and see how bad that works out for me.

Do you have to use both tires in todays Manufacturer Race?
Yes.

The regular Megane has the same terrible tyre wear as all the other FWD (and 4WD) Gr.4s, but it's very fast in a straight line. The Trophy is among the slowest, but has good tyre life and probably the best brakes and huge grip through corners. As braking and tyre wear are directly linked, you can extend the tyre life even further by braking slightly less in the same place as everyone else - or out-brake and out-corner for position.

At Interlagos, the Trophy will probably be absolutely dumped on considering the huge full throttle run up the hill.
