Finally got a less chaotic room on the third try. Started 7th in this race and was focused on getting up to the front runners a quickly as possible because I knew there was going to be some madness and it was directly behind me. Glad I escaped and finished the race in 4th. Was good to see Vulcanan in the race as he ran away with 1st

Anyone hoping for the FFs to be nerfed for the rest of the season? Guess what?

21:00 Manufacturer Series: Sardegna - Road Track - B

There is not a lot to say about this one. I arrive with 4 on the door and qualify 19th which was DFL since someone dropped out. The top 3 are all Porches. Lap 1 turn 1 I pass P1 as something happened there before I got there.

I eventually am in a train for P15 to P19 but never get past it. I end up P17 for the race which was mostly clean. Throughout the race, the P1 Porsche that went off at the start, kept gaining on me and even passed me a few times but eventually would fall back due to either going off or being offed. He was quite aggressive with sticking his nose in on turns to bump past and it seemed that some did not appreciate it as I saw him bumped a few times, I personally had no issue with him because he would just fly by. I mean, when behind me by over 6 seconds (three different times) he caught up to me. He had great pace but his racecraft was crap. He ended up P19. I would’ve thought that with his pace he could have at least made it back up to P10 but it wasn’t meant to be.

I don’t understand how you have the pace but still feel the need to bump past people.....

See you out on the track!

Sharing the whole Rd 23 Manufacturers Series Race, as it was really one of the most fun, tough, clean races that I've had. The start had me protecting the insides to avoid being dive-bombed, or hit via chain reaction from some of the characters in the rear of the field, and from the middle laps on, a large group of us had a really fun tough race. When this is the case, the game is really, really fun, and really realistic. This track makes you work for a result and there are definitely some nice passing spots, though you have to be precise if you want to out-brake someone after a drafting run. As it should be.

You were in the same race @wedjim and myself were in. I remember admiring that beautiful livery on your Lambo! You were gaining as well on the later laps, went from 4 seconds to 2 coming onto the last straight, last lap. The dude in the Jag was quick. #10 on the door and beat the #2 in the other Audi....I couldn't keep up with either

I do love that livery, on @Master Weasel 's Lamborghini as well... always catches my eye when we are matched or I see it here.

Hey kids, don’t be like this guy, especially on the first lap. We lost the leaders because of this, and things were worse off for all of us who weren’t in the front pack that got away. If you have the pace to catch someone or win the race, you have time to do it. Can’t believe I have to deal with this stuff in top split.

The opening laps were expectedly frantic, as the short race meant qualifying/starting position was critical and any movement up the finishing order was going to depend on getting a position in the first couple of laps. This was my fear, too, but I was able to defend and the racing was clean in my lobby.

I can’t tell if I was getting rusty or if Hyundai really is that bad, even after the recent buffs. I felt like everybody was passing me, even though I still passed some drivers that had spun out. But the latter would explain why Hyundai seems to be a consistent minority in every lobby I’ve entered for the Manufacturers Series. Do you really suppose both Hyundais need yet another buff? Would that necessarily even fix their issues?

Not usually one to call specific people out, but this guy needs to learn some racecraft. Every. Single. Race. I’ve been in with him he pulls some crap and ruins multiple people’s races.

and because of PD’s infinite wisdom he got through this whole thing penalty free

Lol this guy has been needing to be called out majority of Stage 2 and beyond.

Decided to run the Slowstang last night in the first slot and did really well! I was expecting to get put into a lower split since I rage quit after last weeks race entering the race with only 39k DR.... however, nope. I entered the race with door #20 and TPC_Poohbear in the slot as well after doing a few practice races in lobby I knew I'd have my work cut out for me.

Qualifying went as expected 1:25.3xx only .100 off my normal QT from practice. Good enough to start 3rd behind a Ferrari and Poohbears Atenza on pole. This was a really fun race from start to finish between the top 4 guys. Lots of side by side action there for a while drove myself into 2nd but I couldn't hold off Poohbear for very long the Ferrari had started pulling away so I fell back to 3rd. I tried to stay with the top two guys however the guy behind me was a little aggressive and doored me a couple of times in the same windmill turns back on laps 6 & final lap did all I could to just keep myself on the track there! If the Audi would have worked with me Poohbear and the Ferrari might not have driven away but banging doors couple times slowed us down.

Ended up 4th for 189 points and decided I was one and done since this was my 3rd best total this year and first time I've ever put the Mustang up near the front. It's a miracle of some sorts, I really wanted to go again, I had a great pace there!

Seems I lost my mojo prior to entering Manufacturer race at Sardegna. Qualified 19/19 - 2 full seconds off pole and 1 full second off 18th. Drove around slowly (apparently) for 12 laps and finished 19/19.

No pace and no fun, at all. Not sure why I was so slow in the Merc, but I was. An embarrassing performance, really. Did not run again, on any of my accounts.

That looked fun, nice clean racing especially the last 4 laps. BubbaKyrie was in the Jag that won my race also. Noticed you hit your FL last lap. I got slower as the race wore on!

Yessir... I was proud of that, hitting my fastest lap at the end in the Porsche. I wasn't able to do that when I ran the race again on Alt account in the Corvette, which consumed the tires differently (and fuel... was getting low!). But the Cayman is really nice on tires... as the fuel weight burnt off, I was able to keep at 100% throttle on the last sweeper before the s-kink onto the main straight, whereas I had to blip the throttle to turn without understeer carrying me off in the first few laps, and I could also carry a little more speed through the slower turns.

But in that Alt account race, I was actually 5 sec faster over the whole race, in the Corvette. The reason is simple, though: racing traffic. Track position is SO important at that track especially with the tire/fuel multipliers what they were. I was happy for a decent qualifying time in my Main account race, but if I had been able to keep 3rd or even better my starting position, instead of messing up my final hot lap, I am sure I could have finished 3rd or 4th as a result. I have to keep practicing and focusing on that qualifying performance!

Yeah, it’s definitely not an isolated incident. It’s been awhile since I had issues with him personally, but it has happened before and I’ve seen plenty of other complaints since then.

This idiocy is a way of life all through A dr level. I was thinking I ought to add another acct, but anymore since I got my vanity A plus a while back I’m thinking now just take the game for what it is, race ALL the races I like and forget worrying about dr at all.
It’s impossible to take seriously when this is allowed. I couldn’t race at Interlagos yesterday. I finished 4 but I was hit seven times in five laps. I say ok try c race. I was doing well holding fourth final lap at Indianapolis by 1.75. BOOM punted into sand down to 10th.
This is just a way of life for these cheating losers. I think I may even be done taking revenge, it’s not even worth it. At my level on the account I’ve been using (just under 50k). I’m surrounded by a holes (90 percent of them will dive every opportunity). There’s one guy, I know of 3 acts he runs, just faster than me by a tenth or two, anyways at Interlagos I get a real good run out of the last turn, he and another car tangled on the last turn and I am passing both on the inside and he rams me into the wall on the left while trying to shove me into the pit lane.
This guy is always top 45-75 on qual. He’s an idiot.
After the race he MESSAGES ME saying “don’t dive on me again”
I just left. It’s just ridiculous at my level. Clean racing is the exception to the rule.
I could name 25 drivers around my level that are all complete trash. :(
Top split means nothing anymore. It didn’t use to be this way AT ALL a year ago.
It just shows the deficiencies in the rating system when it’s the same jackasses every damn time and at 99 sr!

On a better note, here’s a much nicer battle I had for P1. Unfortunately it was in a weaker lobby following a race where I was punted from pole position accidentally.

I had actually caused P1 to crash earlier in the night so I didn’t want to put too much pressure on him but also didn’t want to lose too much time to P3 who was catching back up every time we fought. It was fun finding that balance. P1 made quite a few mistakes towards the end but I nudged him along rather than go for the moves because I knew I was racing the next slot even if I won. Great close racing from all of us, even by the angry pad user behind who talked a lot of smack to me not long ago...lmao. Cheers!

To follow up on this, about fastest lap times and being consistent all race, and having good track position: in my last two FIA races on my alt account, I finished 2nd and 3rd, in definitely-not-the-META car at each track... both races having put in the 10th or worse fastest lap time out of the 20-car fields. But because I stayed on track and out of trouble, and was consistent from lights out to checkers, got nice results (starting from 5th in each, too).

And sure, racing in a lower-DR lobby (~15k DR) than my main account makes it easy... but there were ten or twelve drivers in each race that outpaced me (70-75 K' speed rating) at least once in the race, but I couldn't see any of them in my rearview mirror at the end.

Really goes to show you that much of the game is keeping clear of the trouble, and being consistent. Not just fast.

Lessons to be learned in every race! Trying to learn as much as I can from running in those alt account races.

Oh wow, there's a Nations Cup race at Route X on the 28th, I kind of want to race on my main account again just to try and join the top split to play Sweaver Sez with the Big Buckos.
Anyone want to join the Team Mopar hype/draft train?

Nope. They’re pretty average, and just not as popular of a brand as other average cars.

The Gr 3 especially has been very successful since they adjusted the BOP.

The Hyundai in my race finished 5th yesterday.
Then maybe it’s just what sort of lobbies I’ve been placed in, lately.

Whoa… two marathons on tap this Saturday, gonna be a helluva double header! First nearly 35 minutes at Lago Maggiore in the Gr4 cars. Then the Gr3 cars at the BMB infield course… which I really kind of like. Big cars on a small tr-a-ck!

3C1cTCh.gif

(Big car on a little track! Gr3 at Blue Moon Bay Infield!)

...that race also looks to be just under 35 minutes. Two long ones back to back! I’m resting up instead of practicing tonight! Hoping for a couple of one-and-dones! With 10 minute qualifying sessions, I’ve noticed that the lights aren’t out for the race until about 20 minutes after the entry closes, after the warmup, the qualifying, the minute break, and the long driver intros. That means it’s virtually a whole hour from start to finish for each race. Rest up, drivers!

Probably. I caught a round at Alsace with you where it was a struggle for me to finish close to the top 10, and I had a similar experience at Fuji that same week. Since participation seems to be down, the rooms have a larger DR split than normal.

I bled a little bit of DR from all that and was door #2 last night instead of door #19/20. Finished 4th (and blew the podium by being a dumbass). It makes a difference.

I've always done best with a low door number. Seems to be a good indicator that I'll run well with a door #18 or something like that. But a door #1 (twice happened this season to strugglefests) or #2 is just been bad luck. Crashes, no pace, etc...

Debating going with the Audi TT for the Nation's Cup. I know my Manufacturer's Cup 458 is not going to work at this track, but after FP runs with the Mazda and Megane Trophy, I bested my best by nearly a second in a very bad first lap.

Man, going through BMB Infield consistently is going to be tough, my lap times varied wildly over the 15 laps I had time to put in tonight. Because I'm not great at the very light braking that seems to be needed for the first section and the 2nd-3rd to last turn complex, I'm finding I need to brake while staying on the gas to not lose too much speed and stay stable, but there's not way that's fastest. Not so sure I want to run this one.

And Maggiore backwards. I still have little experience doing that, at least it's one of the short versions with part of the track cut out, but I just can't get the flow of that track down.

This weekend isn't looking too good, if I do go I might drop below 40k DR again.
