Thought I'd give Mercedes a shot in Manu, as if qualifiers didn't warn me what's to come with all 4 gr4 mercs at last 4 places.

Ended up being my worst race since playing the game, slight touch of other car from the inside on straight after Hawthorn on lap 2 saw me carouselling off barriers for total car damage and car barely going in 3rd gear..
Race ruined basically from get go:(
By the time I made it to pit I was dead last on p19 and p18 was 40s ahead.

Figured i might as well finish it since I like the track, the general slowness of sls gr4 led me to being lapped by p13, never had it happen before lol

Somehow finished 16th since I'm guessing some poor souls ahead couldn't stand the car crashing.

I understand they introduced heavy damage that's almost similar to real cars, but those real cars don't race 10-12 laps, they have plenty of time to regain lost spots whereas in gts one crash means game over pretty much.

Nations was fun. Got blocked a little on my fast quali lap so only started 13th but managed to pick my way through the field. Was 12th at the end of the 1st lap when a guy in a Porsche came from miles back and just missed me at the 1st corner. I made sure there wasn't any space as he ran onto the green stuff, and then spun. Wasn't my finest moment, but he weaved on the straight and then I felt he dive bombed me, so I wasn't feeling particularly nice at that moment.

Was up to 7th at the pit stop, and when I came out in 6th I was relatively clear with a guy a second or so behind and someone 5 secs ahead. Proceeded to close down on him until I caught him on lap 12. That was when the fun started. i got the run on him into the chicane and he defended fairly. I was still close behind going onto the straight and he decided to weave and block my overtake. I could of course be mistaken and maybe it was accidental.

I then tried an inadvisable move on the back straight, and made a complete mess of it (just didn't quite realise where the apex was) :(

Race pace seemed pretty good in the Mclaren, but probably the Porsche is slightly faster. Should have been 5th, was 7th. Such is life :)

Manufacturers was a bit boring to be honest. When I saw the racers I realised I was in the top split in my Pug so knew I was in trouble.

Qualified down in 15th with a 1:30.1. Race started safely enough, dropped a place being 2 careful but ok. Then a couple of people crashed out, but the only pass I managed was along Pilgrims Drop when I got nudged out of the corner by a guy in a Lambo. Apart from that it was just parking the car on the apex when the tyres wore out and then using the straight line speed to keep my position down the straight.

It must have been frustrating to be stuck behind me, so here is the video of the last lap for them to 'enjoy'

Managed to build a little Pug Train by then end, and got 12th ahead of a few good drivers - so claiming a success on that race

To give you an idea of just how bad it gets in the Gr4 Hyundai... this was the state of my tyres at the end of the Brands Hatch race;

7jYQSCN.png

That was only a 5 lap stint too. With brake bias at +5 to the rear the entire time. Only thing that saved me was the driver behind following me in on lap 7, only to go back onto the mediums allowing me to pull enough of a gap before the cliff.

I have almost the same tyre wear than you... on mediums! I'm not doing this race, the Vantage is just terrible on tyre wear. Lap 3 on mediums i'm already lapping 30s.

Five laps is one too many on the softs. I've done M/M (6L/6L) and M/S (8L/4L) practice races in lobbies and tire wear was manageable in the Hyundai. Even with full 5 front brake bias.

Keep in mind though that I am coming from Subaru so basically any level of tire wear will seem moderate to me .

Yeah i did a practice with the 4C on Medium with no stop and it wasn't even that awful. Really hope PD fixes these.

Next time I'll be free to do some races I'll have joined the dark side hopefully and set up my T150 (should have the space finally), so potentially my last pad race :(. Pretty fitting for me it should be a Gr1 race to finish it off and what a race it was as well :D

Not a good night. I knew the Lexus was going to be junk at Brands Hatch. Had a lap going to get 2nd but the car inexplicably went sideways the moment I touched the brakes at Graham Hill bend. Ended up starting 4th. Now, I tested out a double softs stint before the race but I had zero tire life in the fronts by Lap 6. Therefore, mediums were the only options. Of course, I got run over twice the first stint but I stayed out until Lap 7 to try and gamble with the softs. Didn't get far before I touched the grass exiting Hathowrn. I was pointed straight and yet I got hooked right and into the barrier. Had to pit a second time and recovered to 7th. Even then, I had no grip at the end.

Nations worried me because I knew the 919's hybrid system was wonky. When I qualified, I was losing the power down the straight at the start of 4th gear! I knew I was going to be hobbled but it was getting frustrating that I kept losing time because of something I had no direct control over. Long story short, I was trying to hold 3rd but had a lunge at the final corner. I managed to avoid it but in doing so, I had to miss the apex, ran wide into the curbing and spun. Not the way I wanted to end the night.

I'd sure like to know what I was supposed to do so that I had enough hybrid power for the race. I tried a few things and I couldn't get anything to work consistently.

I was in the Nations room with you, was the idiot trying to keep up in the Mazda :dunce:

Were you noticing other Porsche's maintaining better speed somehow than you? The race was almost all the same car.

Did the manufacturers in the Lexus.
I had a horrible qualifying because both flying laps got blocked so I was happy to start 5th with a 28.9 I believe.

I decided I was going two 2 stints with softs. I was able to make them last decent.
Lap 1 I made up a place then I started catching @hellZfirE in the Aston. We pitted at lap 6 within a half second together. Lap 7 or 8 I got a decent run coming out of the second to last corner. Went for the pass but wasnt clear enough on inside and bumped him wide a little. After that it was a boring race.

@hellZfirE why did you go in pits? Was there damage? I'm sorry again, I didnt think there was much contact at all during or I would have given you the spot back. I got no SR knock.

Nations was a lonely race and very low points too. Qualy was Ok, only hit my first hot lap and race pace was also good, some mistakes here and there, but overall great race.

I was sure i wouldn't race Manu because this race configuration is amazingly bad for the Vantage Gr4. Impossible to use soft tyre on the race, so i had to use the mediums, and even so the wear was massive. Was holding a decent 3rd place until got hit from behind and got damage. I thought i had an enough gap to come back in 4th but i forgot that you lose more time fixing the damage. Came back behind the Ferrari and decided to go all in to try and recover 4... Didnt end well.

Group 4 race nearly put me to sleep it was so boring. The Cayman GT4 should be removed for a 718 Gr. 4 at this rate.

My yellow Cayman made it on Youtube! HI MOM!

Nations Cup tonight was a different story though, I managed to qualify P3 against some guys with TTG in their name (Seen the names but not familiar). Race was well run, some not understanding Fuji fully, but the TTG guys tried to run a no stop race. Knowing the impossible, they started slowing down and one holding us up because R18 and worn tires don't go well. The leading 919 and 2nd place had a collision, causing P2 to move into P1 with a 3 second penalty right as everything came into plan. I basically nailed the race finishing P1. It's about time I had a good Nations Cup race!

I killed a dudes race on the last lap, i could tell he was struggling with tires and tried to force a mistake but he came on the brakes really early :( Sorry CLEBER_S3_COBRA. He seemed pretty pissed after the race yelling at me in Portuguese i think.

Other than that good race up 7 from 14th -> 7th.

If you excused directly after the race, then he shouldn't yell to much.

I got punted in Nations race also on my rear in the turn to the long straight and did spin because of it. After the race he said sorry and for me its ok then. Meanwhile I take it easy, in the end we shouldn't forget that its just a game.

Hey man, good race. I was right behind you for a lot of it. I was trying to put some pressure on you in the first couple laps to see if you'd slip up, but you didn't! I thought it was funny watching your video of lap1 when you were wondering if I was gonna go for it (I wasn't). Haha, I was on softs for the first 4 laps and you made a couple mistakes so I was pulling on you. You're right though, the hairpin is really one of the only good options for overtaking, and you got me there because I was being lazy and not protecting the inside like I should have been.

Overall I'm ok with 10th because I really do suck at Brands, and only became familiar with it a couple weeks ago on the dailies. I think any race at Brands where you don't put yourself in the sand is a good day. Went from 15th to 10th for still over 1000pts, so not bad.

You know not that many people do these races when you can get into the top lobby with 44k DR. Went with the Peugeot 908 in the Nations for a bit of fun but was in the top lobby. Pace could've been much worse given I only did 4 laps of practice, but my strategy really messed me up. Tried the no stop but bailed out on lap 9. Didn't have any major incidents or dramas that ruined the race and finished P17.

Was expecting Manufacturers to be better given that Brands is a good track for me. Unfortunately wasn't to be. Got damage from someone dawdling in qualifying on my outlap on my final run and then got hit off by the same person on lap 2, though such was how close the pack was I don't wanna really blame him too much. In the second stint I binned and spun it and in the end P15

Bit of a disasterclass overall but just gotta move on and hope for better next time.

Yeah i got damage, i posted my race above. No problem.

great race I really enjoyed the battle. See you out there next time!

Still can't believe I spun where I did at Brands. Felt so random. :grumpy:

Still don't know how the 919's hybrid system works.

Shame you had the last lap spin, SprintCup definitely didn't deserve that position with that dive. That driver also knocked me off line in quali's for that race. Considering they have good pace, you'd think they'd choose to use that instead of edging cars off.

Was excited for the N300, realised you can just dump the S-FR Racing. Killed the mood.
Well, St. Croix Gr.3 then.
(I wanted to use the C3 Corvette or one of the Nissans R33 or R34. Last but not least the 2000GT '67 just for the laughs)

Nice clean battle in laps 4 and 5. I was the guy in the NSX. I couldn't believe how off the pace I was in qualifying. I didn't hook up my lap but I also didn't expect to start last. I tried to take advantage of the NSXs superior tyre wear and started on softs which led me to gain seven positions in the first stint. Unfortunately, I threw it all away later as can be seen in your video.

Still hoping they bring in a day session for these. Tried my 1 manufacturers race on Sat 10pm (also my only race for the last 2 weeks as I didnt like the dailys/weeklys)... considering id been up since 12am working it was a disaster. Remember kids dont drive tired.

Yeah was surprised to see an NSX so far down cos it served me well around here, and yeah was a nice battle. I tried not to risk too much given that I had damage then tried the undercut but I guess that was never on with the repairs. Shame about you going off, when this track bites, it really bites.
Also nice to see another GTP'er on track :gtpflag:

I had a similarly disastrous Nations as you in my 919 on the 4th timeslot, which isn't the most ideal timeslot for points. Qualified 11th, finished 10th. This race also saw the best result from @Pubs16 so far; he finished 2nd.

Earlier on in the Manufacturers race, my qualifying was not the greatest; I only managed to start in 16th. But then I was able to finish 11th for some solid 900 points. Pubsie, who is in the same manufacturer as mine (BMW), fared worse here. Winner is just so happens to be you in the Genesis, Jay.

And on another note, I've sent you a Friend Request.
Thanks for the mention dude! We’re making a nice habit of appearing in the same time slots ;). 2nd in Nations is definitely my best result since before the official season. It was a great battle between 3rd, 4th and 5th at the start, managed to gap them near and after pitstops. 2nd seemed to have his tyres drop off cause I began to catch him fast in the last few laps. Getting him by the line anyway but he had a penalty to get rid of also, was a very enjoyable race. I seem to do quite well at Fuji compared some of my better tracks. Sorry to see you weren’t at the pointy end!

For Man Cup it was a disaster lol, no warm up didn’t help at all but can’t seem to make the M4 click round Brands. I did make it towards 12th from last but couple mistakes pushing too hard sent me way back. Great job for you in the Beamer.

Well, then slow down a bit :D Nuno and me had a great race behind you :D
