Time for Pug power!
About to enter the 9PM Manufacturer race, my internet cuts out
Enter the 11PM one, everything's going fine. Last lap. Me and two other guys are following each other around - I don't think any of us put tyres on at the pits, since we were all about the same pace. Going through the final left hander before the hairpin one of them slings it up the inside, knocks me into the wall, I get a three second penalty
To make this worse, I've just checked the replay and they were both on fresh tyres. If I'd changed, I would've won. I've been irate at this game before but this sort of despondency is a new feeling.
I never even realised that was you! I think this is the first time I've been in a race with someone from gtplanet that I recognise. Not sure if there was contact between us at the first corner, I just remember coming out of the second part and seeing you with a 4 second penalty veering off into the wall. Unlucky.I was in your race. Qualified P3. We both pass the Alpha before T1 and I'm on your inside. I should have thought better of it but I was really concerned about being swarmed by the pack. I thought I could hold my line just fine but come off the brakes a touch to early understeering into you pushing you into the wall and giving myself a 5 second penalty. To compound that I damn near spin coming out of T2 which I've never been close to doing before.
To compound THAT I get ANOTHER 5 second penalty on lap 2. Moved back up from P15 to finish a disappointing 10th in a race I had high hopes for. My consolation prize was somehow getting the fastest lap
I have to learn from it but guess I got too greedy at the start.
I watched the replay and you were unlucky for sure, especially with the penalty pushing you even further down the positions.
Penalties are a harsh mistress on the streets of Tokyo.
Sorry for the contact in turn 1. 100% my fault.
Manufacturers was so frustrating, the Aston doesn't have good top speed when the straight is super long and I just couldn't keep up
@OutlawQuadrnt someone won the weaker top split 3rd time slot here with the Peugeot VGT
Should've used your Manufacturer Series car and a 1-stop tbh with ya.For the Nations race I tried to no stop a lexus, but unfortunately it didn't really work. Not sure if it was the lack of my pace at Bathurst, but ended up qualifying in 15th and could only make it up to a mediocre 12th.
I got 1433 for 6th so roughly 1900 for 1stHow many points for timeslot #3?
I started 12th and finished 6th in slot #2, courtesy of two penalties in front of me on the final straight of the final lap. I figured as I had a clean race and wasn't close to winning either 1st or 2nd timeslot then I would bank the points for it.
Bathurst. First race I get a lobby with rubilar, turismo jara and others. Disconnected before qualifying.
Not that I was going to do much in a lobby like that.
Second race, I get pole and my teammate p2. I let him through in the hairpin and slow down the cars behind.
Hit a wall and serve a .500 penalty.
Now I'm p3
After pitting I get caught up behind no stoppers. Manage to get past them but now I'm p4.
Manage to get within a second before the last 2 corners and p3 goes wide. P1-p3 for the team and 1384 points being my best result this season. Unexpected but very welcome.
Also had someone try to overtake me on the inside at mcphillamy park at bathurst, the nose bumped the inside of my rear bumper, pushed me wide onto the grass, gave him a 5 second penalty and in the chat post race blamed it on my "incompetence"
Well, I was in that second race, and it was me that lost the car at the last lap at the Chase...I finished without the right front tire, even saving in the first stint using hard tires to do 5 laps. Those tire multipliers are complete killers to me. At least I managed to keep the 4th place at the end and improve my points in the championship. Anyway, congrats for the pole and the good result, this race was full of players with consistent pace (I believe that more than half of the grid were in the same second at the qualify) and you deserved the podium. We will probably race again a lot through out this Championship, because in Central/South America many players aren't racing too much because of the way the points are currently computed, so getting good points is an achievement.
Ps: I still don't know how I made Murray's Corner at the final lap without tires.![]()
Good race man. Shame that last corner. I figured I had to try and stay as close as I could. From your first stint I could tell your car really eats tyres like its nothing. I screwed up my pitstop.
Spent half a second too long refuelling.
Had to do a crazy three man overtake at the chase to get past the no stoppers and not lose too much time to you.
Looking forward to racing you again.
How can this be still going on? Licenses need to be revoked. Where are the stewards PD?
All the penalties and "risky" behaviour was because of the nature of both tracks this round, they both have lots of walls and it's hard to pass unless you're on the straight. The manufacturer's scoring system incentivises maximising your score every single round if you are in contention to be the top contributor to your manufacturer in your region. For some people they have decided to take certain risks compared to if each round was "one shot" and/or didn't have to make every round count. In terms of the penalty system, that's been a well documented joke for a while now so it's not new.I was wondering why it seems everyones decided to start playing FIA like an idiot. We're talking top lobbys here.
My guess is two things, the broken penalty system is causing people to lose their minds and as everyone this season gets 12 chances to score a single good result in Nations the risk calculation in skewed way in favour of doing stupid stuff just in case it pays off.
After reading some of the posts on here about how Manufacturers is scored I haven't even bothered to look at it. I assume it is setup to incentivise risky behaviour somehow as well.
That's what I'm doing. 2/4 I've done have been disasters but it's a lot of fun with the full qualifying sessions, you get more time to get to know the guys you're on track with and i've found that makes the racing good.I didn't bother last night, watched Tidgney's stream and thought it looked ok! I think in future I'm just going to do them and see how it goes.
My DR just isnt high enough to get a chance at real points. I think 40k DR is about as good as I'm going to get. Winning Honda would be nice...but the 2 A+ driver still haven't done 3 races yet. So we shall see
The quali time is increased to 15 mn for this raceDoes anyone know how qualy will be for N24? I think it may have featured in some of the test seasons but I don't remember. Obviously there is not enough time for an out lap and hotlap in the alloted time.
