I had thought the Group 4 Slowbaru at Monza was one of the worst virtual races I've ever done but last night proved me wrong. Even the physics change has done little to improve the wear. I hope to have the right people look at this and make overhauls because this is hilariously sad.

And guess what? Seeing I had nothing to lose, I did the combo again! Without spoiling it, I might've been more excited at this result than winning at Tokyo East.

Well, Manufacturer's was bittersweet. The Ferrari was definitely not the greatest car around there, preventing me from fighting and forcing me to defend instead.

However, my score does give me 1st place in Ferrai N/A region. Hopefully I get to improve a bit more on Saturday, and keep the spot! My Regional ranking is lower than in previous seasons, but I'll chalk it up a win considering how poorly the Ferrari has been conducting itself in most of these races!

Kie25 raced Nations with a lower rated account last night to illustrate this. He qualified 1st and drove away from everyone. 2291 points. BUT, the thing is, his main account is on 13106 pts, average of 2621 pts for each of his best 5 races. So although it might have been really easy for him to get 2291 points in the lower split, if he raced in that split every time it would be impossible to match his points from racing in top split.

Yea, but that lobby was probably a lower lobby then he could theoretically get himself into if he wanted to. Obviously he's good enough to be in the top split, so if he really wanted to he could tank DR until he finds the "sweet spot" lobby where he would get maximum points and have the best shot at a podium almost every race. Like the 3rd or 4th EMEA split would be around a 2600 points and Kie is probably good enough to be in the mix to win it most nights, not a guarantee like some people think they are saying, just much better odds. It would be time consuming and not very fun to keep your DR at a certain level, but certainly possible.

I like @Tidgney idea for points, but without all the data PD has it's tough to say if it will really work or not.(tagged him because I always wanted to bring this up with him but a youtube chat isn't the place for an essay hahah)

Basically the way I see it is instead of the current DR only based point system, the matchmaking system would count all the DR in the lobby then rank the lobby from Lobby 1(top split) to Lobby 163 or whatever it would be and have set base points based on the lobby number. The top 10 in Lobby 1 would get the most points of any lobby in the evening, then P11 in lobby one gets the same points as P1 in Lobby2, P12 in Lobby1 is the same as P2 in lobby2, P11 in lobby2 is the same as P1 in lobby3 and so on and so forth all the way down the line.

I think for that to really work though we would have to go back to only one attempt at the race again. In my mind, if this system does ever get implemented, FIA DR should be separate from Daily Race DR too. That way if you finish bottom 10 or bottom 5 or something, you get relegated to the next lower split, and the top guys in that split get promoted etc. Thus, you can't just grind dailies to get your DR back up for next weeks race.

The more I think about though the more variables come into play. Like how we have 3 times slots, so how is the top lobby determined? Is it the top lobby of the night, so we won't know how many points we got until the next day? Or is it the top lobby of the time slot, so we will have 3 slots getting the same base points but all that is sorted because there is still a multiplier based on lobby DR strength like what we currently have to randomize the points a bit? I imagine that's probably the way to go. And I would think the base point would only apply up until to a certain lobby number, like maybe only the top 10 or top 20 lobbies get base points. Frankly us DR:B guys and lower don't matter, we aren't qualifying for anything as it is. It also gives people more incentive to be the top 10 in the region and stay there, I think it would make things extremely competitive and a lot more fun. It also gives incentive for us DR:B guys to improve to being DR:A so we can get those "next level points".

Getting ready for Lago Maggiore that I really like.
Set a really good time in practice. (Not like @Winnie847 ) But anyway ,,, Any pointers ?

That’s a pretty clean lookin lap! I don’t have much experience with that car, but enough to know it’s difficult to drive. The couple things that stand out to me are turn 4, where it looks like you could brake just a hair earlier and turn in sooner, which will allow you to get on throttle sooner for that downhill straight. Track limits are set to normal I believe so you can hang two wheels waaaay over the curbs if you want. Then toward the end of the lap, the two consecutive banked right handers, you turned in too early for the first one which meant you had an odd angle that didn’t allow you to accelerate out of it much. If you turn in a little later you have a straighter line through there and the bank won’t pull you to the outside as much, allowing you to floor it. I’m guessing you can shave at least a half second off by fixing those two corners. Good luck in the races tomorrow! Props for using that car, she’s a beast!

Edit: also the S’s leading up to the longest straight, it might be really tough to do in that car, but find a way to make it through without lifting, and if you must lift do it earlier on in that sequence so you can stay on throttle as long as possible leading to the straight. If you have to brake a little sooner or harder for that first left turn, so be it. Putting two wheels on the curbs through there is vital to having a straighter line and allowing more throttle.

Not sure if it's the physics update or what, but I couldn't keep it floored thru the esses either in the NSX. I had to lift 10% on the second left. If I kept it floored, it would understeer too far wide to make the next left.

Last round of Nations/ Manufacturers is tomorrow, still no announcement on the official manufacturers season or next round of Nations.

I also just noticed that the Manufacturer qualifiers for the world tour events were based on the Exhibition and Pre-season calendars. Makes no sense calling them that if people qualify for real-world events from them. (I'm sure I'm not the first person to say that)

The whole thing seems a little disorganized.

Really appreciate you taking the time ! I will certainly apply this and see if I can get some improved times !

@Winnie847 Just did a 1:55.643 !! Thanks !

It's been almost a year since i played the game and currently selected Ferrari as the manufacturer for the races.

Did i make a mistake? I've no idea about current BOP changes and i see no Ferraris around.

?
The only mistake per say would be hopping in with one round left in the season (unless you've actually been racing all season?), the BoP still doesn't seem to have changed much to favor Ferrari now compared to when you last played. I like to just choose whichever manufacturers I enjoy driving most, instead of by BoP. I like participating regardless so they can take the stats into future development (hopefully).

All this of course is just IMHO, though.

Nations seems to be a nostopper. How do people pull that off? I need two stops with the wrx, and one while fuel saving with the 911 :O

Any suggestions for Nations tomorrow? I saw Porsche and X-Bow in the rankings. Which one is the better choice for the race?
Don´t have much time for training tomorrow and changing the car and strategy half an hour before the race didn't work well on Monza :O

Saw this livery on an RCZ Cup car. Bought one in the Mileage Exchange. Did a 47 flat in Nations FP. Just had to buck the trend with not using the same cars on the grid.

Xbow is no stop at fuel 3 to 4 . It look strange but the car is still very fast .

Real jerk this TV Dinner whatever his name is. Just belts iunto the side of me in qualifying. Qualifying!. We all have over 2500 points and he has 600. Something isn't right from the jump. Messed up my flow.

Edit: Manufacturers 👍 Full race battle with a GT-R. I ran RMs all race. Lost two spots to the GT-R and a 650S, on the first lap. Again, tyres lasted longer than qualifying. Balance got better halfway through the first stint, actually.
I was able to pass a Mustang that started in front of me and concentrate on catching the 650S and GT-R. 650S was burning up the rears(TCS must have been Off). GT-R passed it and I soon followed.

After pit stops, an Evo just got ahead of us. After a lap, its speed was dropping off. Just a 3 lap battle with the GT-R side by side(at the esses & up the big hill)and nose to tail, to the finish(with me just 0.3 behind)

Nations Cup schedule has been updated with info for Rounds 21-30:

Some interesting combos in there, and good to see the return of Gr.B after what appears to be an eternity. Kind of curious as to what the mystery circuits are for Rounds 26 and 29, but I wouldn't be surprised if Goodwood turned out to be one of them...

EDIT: Schedule for Rounds 1-10 of the 2019 Manufacturer Series is also up:

Very Surprised to see more Gr.4 than Gr.3 races in Manufacturer!

Well at least we know one new track is coming in July at least, since there’s two Gr.4 blanks, and they wouldn’t both be at Goodwood, which only has one layout. Also can’t really see Gr.3 working there.

I was really hoping for a tuned Mini, or another classic car one make at Goodwood in Nations.

On a positive note it looks like they've reduced the tyre wear multipliers significantly, well at least for the Nations Cup anyway, can't check manufacturers at the moment

Given that the blanked out races are all in July, I'm assuming they'll be at a track that will probably be added in June

You may never know... they could be saving either of those for one of the final 10 rounds...
