My son is asking if the BMW is still a turd????? Or did they fix it.

As a BMW driver i can tell you that I'm excited the M4 Gr4 got some love, but confused as to why not one of the Gr3 cars got touched. The M3 GT and Z4 are slowwwwww. I've given up on the Z4 and will probably move to the M6 for the rest of the season because I'm finally beginning to enjoy the M4. 👍

Not enough time and this season is meaningless anyways. I will stay put, fwiw.

They did say in an article related to this update that at the end of each stage, people will qualify for a World Tour "to be held at a later point". Which is slightly different to their previous wording of "there are no prizes for this competition".

I needed a few big scores to get myself back in contention for Alfa and that will be very difficult now.

With the Peugeot VGT being nerfed in Gr3 does anyone know the best car for the nation's round tomorrow? Apparently The 458 and beetle can 0 stop the race.
I‘m by no means an expert but i Love the 458 and did a 21:49 with a 1stop today in it.
@Mistah_MCA did 21:52 in it with a no stop so it might depend on your Grid position

I've seen that in a Mazda press release, but not a Sony/PD/PlayStation/GT one. Any source?

PD is bad at copy/pasting outdated information.

Stage 2 notification says:

[World Tours]
According to the results of each Stage, players will be selected for participation in World Tour events to be held a later date.

I did see this previously in the 'official' championship page, I can't find it in the current series overview at the moment:

In any case I am treating it like it will eventually count for something.

Crap, managed to get my SR back to S after all, but still not sure if I am racing. Was feeling ok about heading to DTS in Nations, but just realized it is forward. Not so smooth in that direction.

Am I the only parent here hating the Saturday lineup schedule? By the time I get things settled with dinner and bedtimes I am looking at stepping on for the 9pm NZ time race as my first chance. Needing to be up at some human hour the next day I am still up to at least 11 if I try to do both competitions. With work on a Sunday every few weeks this is just silly.

The idea of leaving space for the Supra cup is understandable, but I can't enter that anyway unless I skip dinner with the family, that is on the off chance I am not working that sunday as well.

I like the FIA races now despite not exactly doing well in them. They are a great break from just dailies all week and have some fun variety with tracks we don't see enough. But the times and no limit to entry slots seem to be aimed at people who will give up their whole day or night for them. It is definitely not a deal breaker, but is really annoying.

I feel the same. It's super hard to get any racing done on the FIA Saturdays

Stage 2 announcement
Nations: https://www.gran-turismo.com/world/gtsport/news/00_4424383.html
Manufacturer: https://www.gran-turismo.com/world/gtsport/news/00_5798333.html
Manufacturer Affiliation Contract Update Notice: https://www.gran-turismo.com/world/gtsport/news/00_4864383.html

There are two "Settings:Adjustable" Nations races, 14 and 20(Top 16)

I'm lovin' the Nations lineup. So eclectic, lots of novel combos to really test drivers.
-Straight up 2 N class races :D
-240Z at Tokyo? *Wangan Midnight intensifies*
-Zonda R
-Gr.3 at Spa Rain :scared:
-Gr.1 at Laguna
-F1500 at St Croix C. What the hell happened to PD??? I can't remember seeing that car and that track used in any FIA race ever, and now we got both at the same time
-Tuning for the 240Z and F1500 race. Man that could have the potential to really shake up the order.

Manu is a bit more sedate, but still has a few surprises (St Croix A and Alsace in the SAME season!). Customary Nurb 24h around this time of year and most importantly, single digit fuel/tyre multipliers for all races :D FF and 4WD, it's our time! :mischievous:

Quali being longer is the only thing I don't like. If anything it will just make the slipstream roulette worse as people have more time to dawdle and let others by. Dammit PD, just make it single car, single lap, no fuel/tyre wear. How hard can it be?

Also I can't say I feel sorry for people whose manufacturers got nerfed by the latest BOP. It's called balance of performance for a reason. The idea of Manu is you pick a brand that you like and are proud to represent. Not one that is OP or will give you the best chance of WT because no one else chooses it in your region. LIGHTNING has proven time and again that you can win in any car, as long as you're good enough. In real life, some race series also rely heavily on success ballast added throughout the season to make the championship close until the end (e.g. Super GT), the drivers just deal with it. Just enjoy, don't stress, do your best and most importantly HAVE FUN :) 👍

I tried a practice race for both Nations and Manufacturer this evening.

I'm not sure about the fuel strategy for the Nations race. I tested out the 458 and I actually liked it, even compared to my 911, so I decided I'll stick with it. In the race though, because I use a G27, flipping around with the fuel maps constantly really isn't a viable option because my hand has to come off the wheel to do so to reach the D-pad on the shifter (believe me, I tried), so I tried ultra-short-shifting (below 25% of the redline bar) and if I kept it up, I would only be able to complete 12 laps. So I might go for a less-aggressive fuel saving strategy since, if I have to pit anyways, I don't think the time gained from the shorter fueling phase of the stop will make up for the slower pace. Please correct me if I'm wrong though, since I won't have any time to test out this theory.

For some reason, the Cayman felt much heavier in a lobby than it does in the free practice. I understand the added weight from the BoP, and I know between lobbies with fuel on and free practice with fuel off the car feels different, but this time it was much worse in my opinion. In free practice I could lap a mid-high 2:03, while in the practice lobby race I could barely eek out a high 2:05; it was mostly low 2:06s with that turning into 2:07s as the tire wear got worse.

Just re-signed with Chevy again. Tried out Maggiore with the new BoP, and went 0.4s quicker than yesterday, but it took A LOT of laps to even get that out of the car, to the point where I felt like I could've found that time before the buff as well had I run that many laps. I know it's still over 3,000 lbs, but I figured I'd be able to feel a 60 lb weight loss. I didn't expect a radical change in handling, since to my knowledge no settings changed, but I was expecting a bit more responsiveness.

Edit: Now almost 0.6s faster after at least 60 miles of driving.

I'm currently signed with Subaru, but as we can now change I'm tempted to do so. The problem is which one to pick. I usually prefer to stay away from the "good" ones, going with the underdogs. I'm thinking about Dodge, Aston, Ford and Hyundai.
If you are looking for an underdog then the Chevy or Jag teams are definitely looking. Maybe Hyundai for a real wild card.

Forgot about the Jag (seems like PD did too). Seeing as they got a slight buff with the new BoP, chose them before I could regret it.

Alfa now too. 👍

Good shout, the Gr4 is... was so good, shame it got nerfed hard.

For anyone not using the HUD. I ran a 10 minute Custom Race at DTS, same conditions(no tyre wear though), 10X fuel. Grid Start from 20th. Full throttle as much as possible trying to navigate AI.

EYrUCRrUcAAIyoB

Ran out of fuel starting Lap 5. Since the numbers start at "0". I did turn on HUD to see how much fuel was at 100%. 3.5 laps of fuel was calculated, once I got up to speed.
The Nations race is Fuel 5x, 13 Laps. So, with a bit of light throttle application, will be an easy no stop.

Editg: Well, lets see how we go
EYrXHTCU4AIbae6

Edit2: Even waiting to be one of the last on track, people still smashing at a couple of corners and me having near misses. Car felt stable.

Edit2: All smiles. No HUD. Got a penalty for I don't know what. Might have been due to someone hitting me from the rear and me hitting the car ahead.

THat was fun too. Car was smooth. Didn't notice any tyre wear. Felt consistent.

Shifted before the last yellow and kept my pace. Others were pitting a little before mid race distance.

Found myself in a four way battle for 1st. With still a good chunk of the last 1/4 of the race to go. Dropped the revs a bit more, but ran out of fuel before the final turn. Got me to end of Lap 12. I'm impressed. Just a little more saving during the start of the race and I would have been right there at the line. Definitely going again.

Firstly, I'm surprised the tyres held on this long. No stop. Everyone ran RM. Second, hard racing. Patience, giving room, no blocking, setting up for passes and even capitalising on others mistakes all equalled fair racing.

Me, the M4 and both GT-Rs battled all race, until one of the GT-Rs got a penalty. Atenza looked strongest, in the tighter turns and the final series of corners. The 86 joined the party, but it took a while from the back. I guess for the GT-R users, from what I could see, the car ain't bad. AWD does suck, but they did have fight in them.

My fastest lap was on Lap 8, after I had a bit of clean air. One and done.

I'm using the GTR this season and it just suffers with tyre wear. I like to think myself as really good on tyres and fuel, but damn that Gr4 Nissan is **** on both.

It's also got the longest gearbox you'll ever see meaning you'll have to rev the **** out of it to even get to the next gear safely. I very rarely even get to gear 6 and it almost feels useless by the time I do reach it.

Yep. I basically can’t do Saturday at all so have to look at Wednesdays races in the schedule only. No way can I stay up til 11.20pm to do the last slot after a day with the kids
Really annoyed they changed it. Was hoping they changed it back after this season. Oh well.
