 BMW is one of the few manus that properly represents its GT3 and GT4 real-world offerings.
Yes. What I'm saying is, while PD were deciding to use the top cars in GT3/GR.3 as their basis for the same cars in Gr.4. They may as well made an M6 version.

A proper M4 GT4 wasn't homologated during GT Sport development. Only the Ekris Motorsport built, non-factory homologated M4 GT4. It's one possible reason why the in-game M4( and Mustang for that matter) aren't the official GT4 cars.

Again, I'm glad the GR.4 M4 is what we got. I'm not saying I want that changed to an M6.

2nd Nations attempt went better but only slightly. Got #18 on the door again and qualified 15th and finished 13th. This race has already canceled out the momentum I got from my win last weekend, so I’m a bit frustrated to say the least as my goal is to break into the 40K DR range. Going to go exam some replays again to see what I can improve on before the final race tonight.

Did another Nationals. Was hard to get a clean qualifier for anyone it looked like lol. Q12 for me.
Turn one was pretty bananas, I just held the line and prayed. Tapped a bumper for a 3 second penalty which was super harsh, but... end up on in p5 or so after t1, while ghost for almost half the straight, just scarred to move! So I’ll take it!
Great race from then on with some clean hard racing, and gained a few spots back.
Me and p5 battled almost 5 laps. Both of us super close all lap regardless who was in front. It was wild and fun!
He was way more nosey than me and the top of the mountain was so scary lol, I just stuck it and we hard a great race!
Slipped a little and he got away for me to finish p6
Awesome race!

17:20 Manufacturers Series: Kyoto Driving Park - Yamagiwa

I was worried about FF dominance for this race before entering....there was only 1 in my race, a RCZ. I enter with 13 on the door and qualify 11th. I outthink myself and start on mediums to get them out of the way. I end up doing 5 laps on them before pitting for softs. I eventually make it home in 13th.

18:40 EDT Nations Cup: Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit

I will take any chance to race the track! I knew what I was in for when I arrive with #2 on the door....of course I qualify 19th!
Lap 1 turn 1 was a massacre! I was P12 going into turn 2. I just try to keep it on the track and did a pretty good job. I finished 9th which I did not expect! It was good to see @x5abotagex86 on the track!

See you all out on the track!

Aight so today (USA EAST TIME) I was contemplating on whether to race manufacturers with my 86. I knew it wouldn’t be the strongest car. I was in and out of lobbies. Surprisingly, I did ok for the most part and there was a few FFs.

I decided to go for the first slot. There was one FF in the lobby, an RCZ.

Qualifying started and I somehow qualified pole. I guess the RCZ had a bad go but it qualified 5th or 6th, not far behind.

At introductions, I see a car that glitched, P7 was doing the sliding left and right. P8-P20 pretty much had their races ruined. They all bunched up for the impromptu standing grid start.

So the race when on. I had a decent pull off. P2 was a Cayman creeping up on me. As we headed downhill to the esses, I see he moves to my inside. I wanted no parts of that fight so I braked longer to avoid chaos. It takes P1, I’m right behind but lost enough speed for a GTR to join the fight. I fell back to P3. We go around the hairpin and the RCZ joins the frey. It had a better exit so I backed off a bit before the chicane. It passes me but messed up the chicane exit and ended up in the grass. I got P3 back and the was lap 1.

Lap 2, the Cayman was still leader with the GTR and myself on his tail. In S2 at the long left hander, the GTR didn’t take it tight enough, leaving a gap for me to zip through to take P2.

Lap 3, The Cayman didn’t take the downhill esses too well. Because of that I was closing the gap on it. We get to the chicane, Cayman gets a good exit....or I thought. Unfortunately his rear right tire went caught the curb wrong and he went off like a missile to the other side and hit the wall. I take back P1.

It was all clear from there. The GTR was P2 and it was on mediums and I was on softs. I was getting a good gap on it to pit and the lap 10 for meds and win!

So for all thinking of not doing the race, I’m glad I did.

Just did 2nd Manufacturers' slot, and I got placed into 2nd (?) split as door #20, with pretty much the whole room except me being DR A+...

Qualified and finished 11th (and still best of 3 Corvettes). Needed 6th for my goal of over 200 points, or 7th to at least have a meaningful improvement over some of my other scores. I could've at least been in contention for it had I not run wide at the penultimate corner and gotten myself a 0.5s penalty, then added another second to it by cutting too far to the inside on the exact same corner a lap later :banghead:. Fortunately I minimized the time lost in the penalty zone by pitting right after serving the penalty (I started on Mediums) on Lap 3. From then on it was just trying to catch anyone who hadn't pitted yet. Along the way I had a battle with a TT for several laps. He was JUST fast enough to not hold me up for most of it, but then he started taking very defensive lines into the hairpin after the chicane and at the left-hander after the esses. Eventually I just drove around the outside of him in the left-hander (not sure if he just backed off, or just went way to cautious and defensive). I got 154 points and actually a slight DR boost even though I finished just outside the Top 10.

Hopefully 3rd time is the charm. It would be a shame to have raced at my favorite road course and have nothing to show for it...
Hopefully I don't get up into a 2nd (or higher :scared:) split again. Maybe I should drop my DR (currently 48.2k) for the next 2 hours...

In the GTP race from a few pages back. That RCZ wasn't anything to even remotely worry about. He burned himself out by lap 4-5 when I caught up to him.

The start was only a standing grid for about 3-4 of us. Luckily some decent human beings behind us as they could've easily taken a few of us out before we got to the main straight. Ended up being a pretty good race behind you.

Skipped Nations and focussed instead on the Manufacturers round at Kyoto. As much as I do love Mount Panorama, road cars on road tires just don't work for me. And it turned out to be the right call - I managed a solid qualifying session and started 5th from very little practice. As the lights went out I made short work of the Cayman in front of me, and a few laps later closed in on the 3rd placed Mercedes, which lost time after sliding onto the grass beside the home straight. And from there on I cruised home to the finish, 3rd place and Clean Race Bonus.

Did the first time slot for Manu, #5 on the door and Q'd 8th. Right behind the lagger in P7, I got by during the countdown and could see Keith2324 stuck behind the lagger. HaydenFan69, were you in the white Ferrari I was battling with early on? I made it up to 3rd by the end of lap 4 and on lap 5, coming out of turn 1 I caught the curb wrong which shot me across the track and nose first into the wall. Rejoined last and finished 18th. Congrats to Trone_Colby on the win. Ran the 2nd time slot with better results. Door #20, Q'd 6th, Finished 4th and almost regained my lost DR from the first race,

Edit; Sorry HaydenFan69, it was the other white Ferrari I was thinking of.

He also had beef with people as well, especially that one Cayman (the one that lost it in front of me). He kept diving the RCZ. After that they exchanged hits. It was funny watching the replay.

FIA Manufacturers Series Round 22 - Gr4 at Kyoto Park

Had a forgettable first race. Forgot to change my livery to the FIA series white, after running the inverted black look in the Nations race last round. Was bummed to be assigned #1, because that means less points and a little more of a hit for a bad result, but it was cool to see @CurbHog and @Lewmatic on the grid. Nice race, HiortinTexas (4th)! I hope to actually make a good race with you worthy of your good YouTube videos one of these times, but this was not my race...

(First race, forgot to change back to standard white livery... but at least it looks cool with the #1 on it!)

Got totally held up in qualifying... why can't people figure out how to behave on the out laps?! WT*!?!? THE LAST TURN ON THE OUT LAP IS NOT THE TIME OR PLACE TO MANAGE THE GAP IN FRONT OF YOU! And... this race, the KNUCKLEHEAD in front of me was the FIRST car out, I was second... WHY would you slow up in the final sector on the out lap!?! To hold me up? It was all downhill from there as I never got a clean spot after four tries to get in a clean QT, and ended up with only one 2 minute window at the end of the session to make due with whatever I could-- Q17, stuck behind the same types of drivers that would hold you up in qualifying, ruined by plan to run fast on Softs and gain some ground as there are not many passing places on this cool track... and finished 12th after a forgettable race. (for the record, two TT's were 1-2, a M4 was 3rd. in a low A lobby.)

Wasn't sure I'd have time to race again, but was able to, and it really worked out well. Q5, after a pretty competitive session. Had planned on going with a one-stop this time, but with a good QT and starting position, decided to go all-out and gain what I could until I had to give up 6 seconds to take on the Mediums... worked like a charm. Was top-3 most of the race, pitted with 2 to go, to get a clean run on the last lap, and braced for a final showdown to keep a podium spot after pit stops cycled me back into 2nd place...

@afc5150 lurking in the background... he drove a good race and was right behind me all of the second half

But a Subaru and McLaren were on my tail, and the Subaru in particular was fast. I had to concede my spot to him as he outbraked me at the chicane in the valley, but when he went past, the McLaren saw it as an invitation to barge through and doored me, sending us both off track, but he stayed in front of me while I got a penalty, which meant I was toast. @afc5150 was the lucky benefactor, as he was on my tail for the last half of the race and was able to get by me when my momentum was uh... interrupted... but I have to thank him for being a great wingman, because it sure looked like if he could have move the guy aside for me, he was ready to, on the remaining half a lap! Good race!

So despite getting robbed of a hard-earned podium, it was a good result, with my best points haul of the season even in 5th, and I'm at a new peak DR as well (having sat out of the Bathurst race). Hope everyone else had a good round as well, cheers.

Almost had a well-deserved podium sticker to add over my rookie stripe again, but not this race...

I'm sure there are different opinions, but if you watch the whole replay of the race, which I posted on GTS, you can see how clean I race, and how many times I give and take, to avoid contact. Then after a great clean race, I get doored by a dive bomb that costs me a podium (and a bunch of FIA and DR points) well, it sucks. Oh well, you race and learn...

He also had beef with people as well, especially that one Cayman (the one that lost it in front of me). He kept diving the RCZ. After that they exchanged hits. It was funny watching the replay.

Imma send you a friend request. I didn't get the save, and sounds like I missed a bit of fun.

Edit; Sorry HaydenFan69, it was the other white Ferrari I was thinking of.

No problem, he and I are usually the only Ferrari's you most likely see.

Well, both races went about as expected. In manufacturers I ran a few laps in Practice with 6.35 left until the race started. Not too big a deal since I felt like knowing the track well and the Corvette I’d be ok. Qualified 11th with door number 5. Uh oh, maybe I should have practiced more today. Ran Mediums all race for a no stopper. First few laps were tough, the softs had an advantage, I made up a couple spots due to mistakes others made. Once their softs started to wear and pit stops happened, I made my way up to and finished 6th within .7 of 4th and .3 of 5th. Needed another lap...but i’ll take the 140 points.

In Nations my heart wasn’t in it. Car felt super sketchy going down the triple whipper windmill turn in practice. I put 20 minutes into this one and made a race car AT&T Livery on my car for it. Didn’t help. Qualified 16th with door number 18....got all twisted up at the triple whipper and binned it like a pleb. Front end and engine damage, last... took a good 20 seconds of sputtering along, maybe more before it all was magically repaired...served a 1.5 second wall collision penalty for the pleasure.....worked my way back up after catching a couple others who had a tuff race also and got back 16th. 75 points, lol.

That’s enough of that.

I’ve seen before people complain about being a lower ranked ‘filler’ in a fast room.
Both Nations I did were like that today, but I think it’s cool to share the track with faster people. Better that than driving alone in front.
I started last again but managed a solid 14th.
People might laugh, but I think it’s great.
Today was a good GTS day.

So, for the race at Yamagiwa, should I have done a lap on Mediums to start, then do the rest on Softs?

@KosmoKazi dude I feel even worse for you now that I've seen the replay. At first I thought it was track limits, and I briefly considered not passing you up the hill but, you know, changed my mind.

You really deserved that podium, and it was great fun trying to chase you leaders down. Having started 8th, by the time I got into 5th, I was just far enough behind you guys to have lost the draft. I would get close on occasion but that was about it. Again, great to race with you in one my most enjoyable races of the season.

:gtpflag:

So my hard earned 4th gives me 147 points, for my second highest score of the season, and a great night of racing in both series' tonight.

For Manuacturer's has everyone been trying to slipstream in qualifying, or going solo? The 1st 2 slots I tried to slipstream in qualifying as that seems to be the way to go in Gr. 4, but I'm wondering if that's costing me too much downforce in these fast corners.
I went faster without the draft, but it seems to depend on who you follow and how close. Bobbles Trying To avoid the draftees mistake cost me more time than solo runs.

Mine was solo. Someone actually slowed me down. Once I passed him and had clear road, I qualified P1.

Yamagiwa Race 22 (11min Race Edit)
I had a fun race.Im pretty strong on this track. Good to see friendly faces such as @KosmoKazi and @Lewmatic on the grid.
I had a good quali and started 5th. My strategy was to race Soft for 10 and then change to the Medium.
Well, lo and behold when I pitted in the end I ended up loosing two spots because of two drivers (The BMW and the Audi that I had battled) with different strategies as me. The Audi did a no stop on medium and the BMS was pitting on lap 7. He was very fast as he passed me when I was in the pit even though he had a 1S penalty on the straight !
All in all, good points that should improve my standing in the championship.

Lol forgot how to drive and couldn't get a single good lap in. Qualified 16th on my only timed lap in which I threw it away in the penultimate corner. Let's see how the race goes, but anything less than a podium is literally pointless. :banghead::banghead::banghead:
