If the car in the middle is Delta, it was finally added 12 years after PD scanned the actual car.
2/3 so far. That 4/5 (🤭) would be an amazing addition.

I absolute don't mind the updates but I would like that GT offers a bit more than that and provides us with DLC that I would happily pay for. PD is based on japanese carculture and it is looked at differently here in the west. KAZ is obessed with details but imho he must do something right since it is a flagship franchise. Just look at the forum. Years and years of debating the same issues with every single game but still many of us keep in some way linked to it since it had such an impact on our gaming experience in the early days.

Personnaly I have a love/hate relationship with GT. There can be weeks it is highly enjoyable and other weeks where I think it is a really terrible game and nothing more than fancy graphics. Still , I come back and play it. I can scream out loud I won't be buying GT8 because of this and this, I moved on etc etc but in the end, what crosses my path GT8. It's simply an oddball for me :dunce:

But hey a BX and a 2008, I don't complain for once :D

"Mom car" is an American term derived from a suburban lifestyle where housewives needed big cars such as minivans (nowadays SUV's) to drive their kids around to various activities, such as soccer. It's not a term natively used in Europe.

In dense European cities everyone prefer smaller cars for easy parking. It's not a trait unique to European mothers. In Europe we call that kind of cars city cars rather than mom cars. The term "mom car" does not describe a car that is easy to park, on the contrary "mom car" are often harder to park than the average car, due to their size.

Cars well suited for families are better referred to as family cars.

Young families are one of the main target audiences for most cars. It's stupid to refer to them as "mom cars" because of that. First because it doesn't really say anything about the qualities of the car, and second because it reinforces conservative gender roles.

It's a dumb term. It implies that it's the mother's role is to take care of the family, to care for the safety and practical arrangements and that she should drive a different type of car than other family members. You've also implied that she thinks it's difficult to park, even though that has nothing to do with how the term "mom car" is typically used.
Thanks for the explanation. Then i have simply misused that term as i am not a native speaker.

I like less-represented and weird (up to a certain limit) cars. An example would be GT2 Project A-Spec adding the Nissan A100 Cherry Deluxe '74 and me driving it often in Time Trials and Arcade Mode despite the fact it can only tune up to 86 HP.

Random fact: A certain game has the aforementioned car as the Satsuma.

I just wished there were some cheap sporty cars that are the modern equivalent of the bargains you could find in GT4's UCD. The closest you get to that in GT7 is the Swift and Cooper S. I want to see something like a 120i, Twingo 133 Cup or Fiesta Zetec 150.
The Polo GTI and Clio twins represent the small hot hatches.

I know nothing about the Citroen. Couldn’t find many models on YouTube with the rear quarter window.

What's interesting about this to me is this isn't the first indicator we've had of a car taking around a decade to get through the pipeline - there's also the case of the Ferrari 500 Mondial, which has data in GT6's car tables but didn't get into that game, skipped GT Sport as well, and didn't show up until GT7's launch eight years later.

Only two more years for Loeb's 208 to arrive...

Remember, any SCG car might never appear as Glickenhaus and PD couldn’t come to an agreement about licencing amount$$$$$$$$$$$$.
Exactly, I was about to say the same to curb the enthusiasm about the P4/5, but you beat me to it

When I 1st saw the silhouettes on Reddit the other day I thought someone was trolling. I’m always happy to have new cars but this update ain’t my cup of tea. That’s cool because I’m not going to like every car the bring into the game. I will probably use the Delta in 700 pp races and I will at least try the Citroen. Hoping for some new Sophy tracks and new engine swaps at least

Hope we can turn the BX into a Group B like this:

:) (Picture from Hagarty, so I'm hoping PD know of this bodywork and are including it. 😇)

So many folks complaining about the car choices like they drive anything besides Gr.3 911s and the 787b
There's two entirely different mentalities, the first is the meta car, the second is looks/style or the car being fun to drive apart from fast or easy to handle.

Wow. The 911’s now gr3’s meta? I have been away for a while lol…. The ffb for fanatec has taken a beating over the past few updates. Its just not a fun visceral thing anymore. Even with psvr2. 😔

The Integrale is nice but I don‘t understand why Kaz insists on adding these boring crossovers. Nobody wants these cars in a racing game.
Yes, very strange. I wonder if these cars are training assets or older models they are updating. I think I called it “scraping the barrel” before. I also wished they’d focus on sports cars. We only need a few oddball cars, not dozens

Honestly, as said by a few members previously, I think theses "oddball" are here as a starter cars for next GT. I also think they are keeping "the good one" (like new GT3/Hypercars/Legends) as selling point for GT8 (even though I'm not expecting 100+ cars we all asked for in the next game)
And it's also part of the GranTurismo soul to be able to drive these "Alien"

Usually I’m totally onboard with these crazy, weird, often very slow, niche cars being added, but the past few months with all the (semi) modern suv’s / crossovers, with often boring cvt transmissions, being added, even I am getting kinda disappointed… these cars are so soulless…

For a ‘Real driving simulator’, it’s funny there are only race tracks to drive on…

It should only be race tracks - which I think you also mean closed road courses like Grand Valley Highway or the Tokyo tracks.

This isn’t GTA or Forza. If GT7 had real towns the you’d have to consider the politics of road traffic laws and driving behaviour that Sony probably wants to avoid.

There’s plenty of race tracks in the UK and other countries where for the price of a family fast food meal you can drive you car just like you can in Gran Turismo - and that’s what people should be doing, not street racing.

I don't think the right car is the Citroen you addressed.
In the pictures you can clearly see that the car has 4 acids and that there is a window between the C and D-pillar. This cannot be seen in the Citroen.

What is an "acid"?

Also:

It's a BX, and either a 1986-1989 BX19 TRS or a special edition from the same timeframe.

Dunno..
Ac evo strikes me as the most exciting game in a decade because its decided to include a town rich in driving history as an open world, and its tracks, and the realistic trim packages offered. That, personally at least, seems more like a celebration of car culture, and driving. Whereas as gt7 just feels lost. They market on esports. Yet they don’t evolve the selection of race cars. They offer many quirky cars, yet you can only drive them on wide race tracks, with the exception of the nurb 24. The best thing is has going for it is psvr2, which has been ignored since its release. The ffb, for fanatec wheels at least, has devolved into something quite boring, achieving the antithesis of visceral.

Its all rather perplexing and doesn’t really speak to a celebration of car culture. In fact each update seems more like a celebration of the dead art of car photography, than anything else.

Fully agree AC Evo having race tracks and a town to drive around sound amazing there's room for both and I'll be there day 1 when it comes to consoles.

Gt7 track problem could be solve with a track maker or editor like gt5 and gt6 had why they removed those 2 features is still a head scratcher to me to this day.

Hello, I was wondering, how I can contact some marketing/ceo people for Gran Turismo. Would like to ask/ Tell them to make the game available for the PC. Would love to play the game and see how it can really do with PC hardware. I feel like it probably would do amazing for the game if they made the game playable on PC, Better FPS and much better graphics also too for a racing SIM. I'm pretty sure a lot of PC gamers would buy it including myself. $$$

It probably shouldn't be.

Even fictional circuits now have their locations scanned and terrain-mapped (which is why they're taking just as long to produce). To create environments for a track editor they'd need to visit and scan the locations.

In addition they'd want the created courses to be not of significantly inferior quality; they can't get away with 1080p textures any more, and making the lighting work for user-created tracks would take... a while. To say nothing of how it'd function on PS4 (not that they're averse to excluding features from PS4 users).

I doubt we'll see it return. Or at least any time in next game or three.

You can't.
