The thing for me is, play without regards of credits does not work with custom races since a SuperGT grid for example costs in the millions. You need a certain income to have fun in the game as well (for offline players). Timeattack only gives me a million a week or soSeeing is member of GTP since 2009, chances are he got GT7 a while ago, so I hope by now he got rid of the grind and can play without regards to how much credits any activity in the game is rewarding his time.
Well if you want a grid full of specially livered expansive cars which are the same model, I feel you. Hopefully you are not looking to recreate the lineup from Le Mans 66 😅The thing for me is, play without regards of credits does not work with custom races since a SuperGT grid for example costs in the millions. And the only bit of information that this fear is based on is the fact that in one screenshot the car used in the championship is not the car in the top status bar. That's pure conjecture. You can play missions over and over, but they only pay one time and you don’t get to choose your car.
The fear is that these are one time pay (not play) events with pre selected cars.
Tuning random street cars might be the reason their AI is all over the place. That’s a lot of factors to contend with.Ideally, they should have a selection of cars that are eligible for the race's particular theme (they already have this function for other events), the races should have a PP limit (they also have this function), a selection of eligible tires, but tuning should be allowed i.e. suspension/aero/gear settings etc. So all of it is perfectly feasible.
But it's Polyphony so.. They may just not want to, or can't, for some reason we don't know because they don't share much information. My guess is that, for balancing and testing reasons with Sophy, they could limit it to a specific car with no tuning. Why, I dunno, but it feels like they are more concerned with providing a winnable scenario that isn't too hard for most people instead of a balanced scenario that is harder for many people.
I really hope it's flexible.
And I'm still betting the "Championship" is not a championship like we want. I think that's just what they called the event theme. The difference is meaningful because say 8 of the 50 races may be the "Japan GT Championship" (a series of race thumbnails seen in the picture, where you unlock/complete them progressively) vs 1 "Japan GT Championship" actual championship event where it is only one of those thumbnails, you earn points based on position placement for each race, but has 8 races contained within it. So only taking up 1 of 50 events. Something tells me it's going to be the former. Which means 50 events may only be 6 or 7 different "themes" instead of like 15 themes.
"Theme" examples being four already shown on the Power Pack DLC page: '90s GT500, Group C, GT3 Nurburgring, Civic One-Make.
(Not exactly related to what you're talking about) Yea, which is why I think E-sports and online racing is such a huge burden to the game. They have to spend so much time trying to balance things that it sucks any fun out for everyone else. But this is only offline so it shouldn't be a concern for them. I dunno.Tuning random street cars might be the reason their AI is all over the place. That’s a lot of factors to contend with.
Most other racing games you can only work on your setup so there’s no fudging things or getting just the right combination of tuning parts and setup to clean everyone’s clock.
I do enjoy tuning, but it really throws a wrench into things when racing only PP and tire limit. You can do weight and horsepower but some cars have more torque. It just comes with the territory of having like 500 cars and trying to have a decent AI when you can bring anything within its parameters. You can run the P4 in Ferrari races but not many other spots and so forth.
In short, they don’t really know what the cars are capable of because there is car tuning which means you could have like 30 different versions of one car.
Well most of that is GR3 cars which I don’t care about and those are probably the most balanced out of all of them. You can’t beat one make/no tune races but that’s not exactly fun all the time either.(Not exactly related to what you're talking about) Yea, which is why I think E-sports and online racing is such a huge burden to the game. Super GT covers Spec 3 and the DLC and mentions the B-Spec option. It would make a WHOLE BUNCH OF SENSE for the 25 hour races.
One extra hour for the cool down victory lap doing enough donuts to feed a bunch of hungry youngsters25 hours??? One extra hour for the GRIND
I'm sure it's possible since he mentioned adding to My First GT. That was free, but still could happen.I don't know if anyone has brought this up yet so just putting it out there:
What's to stop PD from adding events / championships to the Power Pack down-the-line?
I'm thinking that'd be awesome.
However: I did grab a used copy of GT7 as an early Christmas gift for my old housemate who was sharing his PS5 with me at launch, and dropped it off at 4am in Oregon. Turns out GameStop still charges $45 for a launch edition without the original box.Kay, but they don't do Platinum/Greatest Hits any more. The lowest GT7 has ever been - during this summer's Summer Sale - was two-thirds off, and even that was only the PS4 version.
That was $19.79 for the PS4 Standard and $29.39 for the PS4/PS5 Standard with dual entitlement, for reference. We've seen normal discounts for GT7 of about 50% ($24.99/$39.89 respectively) and the Digital Deluxe version is rarely on sale (Days of Play in 2023 had it at $59.39).
I'm expecting the DLC to be in this $20-$40 area - comparable to a heavily discounted standard version of the game - so I'm expecting the game to revert to its usual price before they announce the DLC price in order that it doesn't look too similar to buying the whole game. Probably not in the $50-$60 area, as reflected by my choice in this thread's poll.
The current median price in the poll is $26 and buttons.
A cool twist would be that the DLC is $4.99 USD (or less) and there will be fifty races added every other month for the same price until the release of GT8.I don't know if anyone has brought this up yet so just putting it out there:

Much rather pay $4.99 for tracks and cars if they could spit out 5 muscle cars one month and 1-2 tracks another. Then 5 other themed cars. If group 3 I wouldn’t bother but it’s better than getting one chevelle in an update with some other cars totally unrelated.A cool twist would be that the DLC is $4.99 USD (or less) and there will be fifty races added every other month for the same price until the release of GT8.
One can dream.
Well, half of the F1 fans these days have the same lingering questions about the stewards each and every real Grand PrixI wonder what the strictness of sportsmanship rules will be during these races Power Pack racing events, 'cause if they're active for the players but not for Sophy, then yikes.
I'm not sure how this could be any clearerWhat if December 4th is the day when Power Pack becomes available in Store to buy but it's not the day when Spec III and Power Pack patch becomes available in game?
On 4 December 2025, we will be releasing the 'Power Pack' DLC
There's that misconception again, that if you just throw money at PD they'll be able to scan cars & circuits quicker or obtain unicorn brand licences.Much rather pay $4.99 for tracks and cars if they could spit out 5 muscle cars one month and 1-2 tracks another. "It will be available in game with 1.64 Spec III update on December 4th", for example, would be more clearI'm not sure how this could be any clearer
Well one thing that hasn’t been mentioned specifically is that…Reaaaaally running out of stuff to talk about here it seems.
Woah! You are right! Actually, what if it doesn't come out in Russia at all?!Reaaaaally running out of stuff to talk about here it seems.
I just noticed that while it clearly says "On 4 December 2025, we will be releasing the 'Power Pack' DLC" it does not explicitly say "On 4 December 2025, we will be releasing the 'Power Pack' DLC in Russia".
What if this comes out later in Russisa!?!
Discuss!
