Reaaaaally running out of stuff to talk about here it seems.

I just noticed that while it clearly says "On 4 December 2025, we will be releasing the 'Power Pack' DLC" it does not explicitly say "On 4 December 2025, we will be releasing the 'Power Pack' DLC in Russia".

What if this comes out later in Russisa!?!

Discuss!
It could just mean it'll be releasing to the public for purchase.

Also I just noticed the caption for the Power Pack mission screen says "Europe, Historic Cars, Nürburgring, and more—50 events across six themes celebrating countries and automotive culture."

Is "Europe" or "Historic Cars" considered a theme? Or is that a subset of a theme?

I just hope we get some QoL changes.

I'm so tired of having to avoid some cars or being forced to drive in bumper cam in this game.

Who thought this was fine? And this isn't even the worst ofender. Just let us remove or have the steering wheel not to move like other games do.

The radar in game, sucks.

Cockpit view needs a virtual rear view mirror like on bumper cam since you usually can’t see out of the cars rear view mirror or side mirrors.

Some cars you can’t sit high enough in and it feels like you’re a 3.5ft tall driver and your nose just clears the dash.
There's that misconception again, that if you just throw money at PD they'll be able to scan cars & circuits quicker or obtain unicorn brand licences.

It reminds me of people who try and negotiate how long their food will take to cook by offering to pay more.
Shouldn’t have to scan any original tracks. Just build them.

As for cars, by offering dlc, it might help them focus on grouping some cars that actually go together rather than getting updates with Willy Nilly choices. It may also reduce the amount of SUV’s, trucks and quirky stuff we get, if they put out an suv pack and nobody’s buying…

Maybe they can only “cook the food so fast” but if they were to dlc like that, they might find out some of the food they’re cooking isn’t actually getting eaten and their long painstaking hours on such food is just going to waste.

The irony here is they announced spec 3 as a free update, and then suddenly the Power Pack came along which is a paid update. Both are being released on the same day. Seems pretty obvious they're using the Power Pack to charge for a DLC so they can keep the "we don't charge you for content" stance.

I would imagine this will be the trend if there's any more big content updates in the future.

Blind spot indicator or better radar would be great, the radar is too low on the screen to be really useful.

In VR the head height is often annoying, and if in single player you can pause to adjust it by a quick trick, online you can't and you better be ready to move your head down before entering VR view each time (and know where this particular car puts your head by default), and don't forget to do it again when pitting, otherwise you end with the eyes lower than the wheel 😅

Rennsport has bad mirrors, but its radar is very good I think.

As long as the game doesn’t become pay-to-win, I think providing extra content for additional content after 3.5 years is entirely reasonable.

Take a look over at EA, for example. They've been rinsing poor suckers on an annual basis for at least 20 years now. And that is very much a pay-to-win situation, at least in the online space, AFAIK.

I disagree sir! I don't want a virtual mirror ruining my clean cockpit view!
Give us cockpit view adjustment instead, so we can see the actual mirrors.
That's something so basic it really should have been in the game by day one!

Fresh ideas.. from 2020. I think Kaz has long ago argumented these choises as "handicaps" to even out the driver performance in different views. Yes I know it sounds weird, but its PDI.

Maybe they could just finally give us settings for views, mirrors etc as any other racing game has. (Almost wrote "sims" there, but that would have started an unnecessary debate..😅)

Anything than the current radar would be welcomed. I’ve always suggested they should make about an inch on either side of the screen glow yellow of somebody is near, orange of they’re closer and red if you’re about to contact. It’s out of the way, simple. Bumper cam darkens like this but you need bumper cam to access it and also bumper cam to get a mirror so you can actually see behind you. They make weird choices. I’ll have to look up blind spot indicator. I don’t remember it. But I didn’t play that game much. You know… chewbacca tire squeals and all haha

Pay to win? This is where they could setup their online lobbies better. Letting the host choose which cars are available for use. That way of some meta car you can only buy rolls into a lobby, you can block it. Like the boss Mustang, at times people roll in with that and next thing you know the whole grid is boss mustangs. Haha. So it already happens. In sport mode, well it could just be there to use, no tuning only setup. Just like I rent cars to do time trials and whatnot.

You don’t have to turn it on if you don’t want to. But you’re right PD is all about one way or another, never choose for yourself. This is your HUD layout and you’ll like it or shut it completely off!

Yeah well Kaz has said he thinks taking three screenshots to send to multiple friends and typing in what aero, tire rim width, offset, diameter and wide body (all missing info from setup page) is an efficient or sufficient way to share tunes. It is obviously not.

Has this actually been confirmed that the spec 3 update will release on 4th dec? I know people are saying this is so but theres been no official announcment.Or am i missing something blindingly obvious.😄

A+B=C.

The blog posts say Power Pack is coming on Dec 4. They say that it needs update 1.64, as does Spec 3. Therefore both should be coming on the same date.

While normally I agree that this is sound logic, it doesn't neccesarily make it so. For all we know, Spec III could release a week ahead of the Power Pack. Likely? Not really I'd imagine, but not impossible.

What about the blindspot indicator? I think that works pretty well.

Blog also said Spec 3 is coming in December. Hard to do that earlier than the 4th.

“Also launching next month is SPEC III update”

Granted, but with PD, who knows. If anything it's just very much more than likely they'll both release on the same date, just not a 100% guarantee until PD states otherwise that it's the same day.

I really hope Spec III adds some updates for VR, I am BEGGING Kaz. I am on my HANDS and KNEES begging for them to add some QOL features like seating position because I remember trying out the Viper GT3 at Trial Mountain (because that was the meta) and that seating position was torture

It's really unfortunate getting into a car and finding out the seating position is cheeks; the R8 GT3 is another example because I feel like I sit too far forward and I can't see the head restraints when I turn my head.

It's in the HUD, see 14 below.

Oh those. Yeah I’d prefer to race with all of that off. Is that working in Cockpit view or only bumper cam? Because that looks a bit different to what I’m used of. All that looks higher up more closer to middle of the screen.

That same indicator is also in cockpit view, but positioned a bit lower (as the MFD gets moved to the right of the screen instead)

Yeah. It’s a pain in the butt. Just to be sure - you know the annoying workaround for this, right?

You can easily adjust the seating position by recalibrating. When you sit too far foward in the game just lean forward and hold the options button to calibrate the PSVR position. After that go back to your usual positon and you will sit further back in the game.

Same goes of course when you sit too low or too high in a car, just duck down or raise your head and hold the options button.

That's fine and dandy but when racing online you don't have much time to dance the lambada once you are in VR view, the race has begun. And you have to repeat those shenanigans each time you exit the pits

Yeah that's what I was gonna reply with. Single player, it's no issue, but on Sport mode, you're kinda screwed.

I really would like to know how PD set up the cockpit cams for certain cars; some of them basically have you eating the steering wheel

It would be good if it was the same for all cars though.

Some I can jump in and not have to move, others it will take me a few goes at getting it right.

The Power Pack isn’t “secretly funding” the free update. PS4 players can’t even buy it and still get Spec 3 for free. Your idea that it’s being used to pay for the update doesn’t make sense.

It’s completely normal for developers to release a free major update and a paid optional DLC on the same day FH/FM, ACC, NFS, COD, everyone does this.

Free updates maintain the game, Paid DLC funds ongoing development, PD are doing what most long running games do, and nothing about this contradicts PD’s stance about free content updates.

Thanks, still think it could be better or more intuitive.
