Two pepper race crazy intense lol.. qualified 2 battled to the last lap lol. Had a great time with this especially because I won, but I don’t know if I like sweating this hard for AI. For me the 2 pepper races are the best! some are easy some give you that great challenge sometimes you get blown away lol. I’m loving it!

What a coincidence that I just did these two races. I did not do them pre-patch though.

Sophy times seem similar in both our case. Both races were indeed very boring despite double-chili option. I tried my best to keep within track limits, even went far enough to keep all four wheels within the white lines in latter half of the races since I was bored. Looks like PD overcorrected difficulty levels in both these events as well as many other events.

---------------

I think there is another change post-patch -> Sarah now never goes away. Pre-patch, Sarah went away after maybe four events. Now she is at every event. She constantly clutters the screen when the lead is frequently changing, gives me outdated lead info, and does not correct it.

Did my first double pepper race,,,thought id try Daytona oval...12 laps, was quite a fun race ,just too short....PD really needs to add the 24 hour Daytona(oval and road course)...there was one wreck which separated the field, front group with 7,back group 11 or so.....i only qualified 4th,Fraga was a full second faster but the fastest lap in the race was the Porsche....lots of lead changes, some tradin paint, little bit of blocking, was 4th starting lap 12 and got the lead back just in time.....24 hours would be great!!!

European Oldtimers at Nürburgring has an exploit

WhatsApp Image 2025-12-12 at 20.51.56_fda5cbf9.webp

The race will (likely) start wet enough for IM tires, but the AI starts on RH. Swap to IM before the race begins. The AI will launch past you, but by the back half of the track, there will be too wet for RH tires and the AI will pit the first time. (easy +30 seconds for you)

By lap 5, the IM's are past half use, and the AI will pit a second time. The game will tell you to change, but you're good to the end.
(another +30 seconds for you)

This is NOT an indication of difficulty. This is an exploit/bug.

I'm willing to bet that the majority of people finding this easy are using paddle shift, ABS, traction control and so on. They've made it easy, not PD.

I personally always drive without aids and my IRL race car is the same. I also can't be bothered with practice, either in the game or IRL. In GT7 I start with quali and do one or two laps then pit to fastrack to the race. Sometimes I miss shifts or don't get the rev match right, sometimes my dog licks my hand as I'm trying to shift gears and botch it.

I still win most of these races on the easy version, but at times the fastest two guys give me a good battle and I don't get the lead until the last two laps. It's good fun, I get my 20 stars and I'm happy.

If PD ever made it too easy I think it's got to do with the online races. I think they should make it mandatory to have h pattern shift, have to clutch in, no ABS, no traction control. No one deserves an A+ rating unless you're rev matching half a dozen downshifts on a formula 1 car.
I’m maybe average on a good day. Everything’s off except ABS, I’m on a DualSense with no wheel, and even I’m finding the races easy.

Someone just posted about a huge bug in the endurance races regarding AI fuel.
Just completed my first of the Power Pack endurance races.

2 things I've noticed that have been issues.
  • The results screen only tracks the player's number of pitstops from when they resumed the session, while for the A.I. it tracks all pitstops. Contrary to the results, I did not somehow complete this race with only 2 pitstops.
  • Likely due to the amount of fuel left in the fuel tank being remembered by the Progress Data saves for when you next decide to resume, the A.I. start severely miscalculating fuel on pitstops. e.g. if an A.I. had 30% fuel saved by the Progress Data, when you next resume it thinks that 30% is actually 100% of the fuel tank capacity, and will only fuel up to 30% at pitstops. It further miscalculates towards the end of the race where say you need only 50% to get to the end, it will fuel up to 15% (50% of the 30% it assumes is the full tank). This eventually would lead to them pitting every lap by the end, or going around the track with no fuel on the final lap.
Oh and the Spa 8 Hour race win awards 4 million credits, for those wondering that.

Suzuka is still quite challenging on two peppers.
But it's not difficult because the AI is too good. Although, yes, it's quite stable and fast. But the NSX is simply a piece of crap on the straights.

I did the 2 AE86 races last night and I actually had to race the opponents would you believe... I chose the Opera car for the race on Tsukuba and I almost won from pole position, finishing right behind Takuma Miyazono. If I had another lap I would've passed him. For the Fuji race I chose the red car and qualified first by more than a second, but in the race it was a different story. A few got off to really good starts so I had to do some actual overtaking on my way to victory. Adriano Carrazza's car was FAST with more top end speed than mine, so I would've been left for dead in the Opera car. Next race I did was Gran Turismo 300 on Autopolis and started first yet again in the MR2. Start was decent but I quickly found myself dropping back down the order as cars barged past me. It was mayhem and I got assaulted from everywhere. Not to be denied, I began to fight back and claw myself out of the hole, right up until I got whacked by Jose Serrano in his Silvia. That put me down to 8th and I never recovered. Turns out I can't race on Autopolis for ****. It was ultimately my fault I ended up where I did. Shouldn't have been soo far back in the first place.

I just started last evening with the Power Pack and I started with 1 Pepper, for the Civic Races, BUT I coluldn't keep up, had no chance to win(ended up 6th).
Even with Zero Pepper I had my Hard Time...

First stint non-stop 3 hours in the morning, second stint 3 hours at night.

Sorry… I meant fuel/tyres. I can only do about an hour a day so want to see how these races fit into my schedule

Started with mid-tyres and first pit at 15th lap, then every 15th lap i entered for pit. I prefer mid-tyres whole race. And full fuel everytime. Fuel map1 always. I hope these helps. Rain dropped last 1 hour left but no need rain tyres because rain is so smooth. No water pools happened on the surface of the track.

Hello,
So there's a way to drive for two hours, sleep, and then continue the next day...
How does that work, exactly?

Also the suspend/resume feature of your PS5.

Ah, okay... thank you... I'll save it to read again when I get there... in a month...😂😂

For example: Start to play at 09:00 in the morning for 3 hours. Your clock is 12:00 in real world :) then pause your race and set your PS5 to sleep mode. Same day if you wish or another day, wake up your PS5 then start your race where you paused.

That's perfect... thank you...

Either I'm somehow insanely good (i'm average at best LOL), or these races are way too easy now. I intentionally didn't qualify to see if I could actually pull off a "come from behind" win. Did it two times in a row. Both cars were the 2 Pepper options.View attachment 1498988View attachment 1498989
i'm crying: they killed the best part of the game after 1 week😭😭

PD did what PD always does. In the sim racing world, they have the best tech, great design, and great taste. And as usual, they just do whatever they want.

With the power pack, many races now have fewer laps. Does it matter? PD thinks it doesn’t‼️But I think it matters a lot. There really should be 30-minute and 1-hour races.I believe there are many online players like me, at A+ or A rank, who are tired of how repetitive online mode has become, and of the terrible penalty system. We want fun races with Sophy, bigger challenges, and we’re really looking forward to the power pack.

I could accept the Sophy AI before. PD is clearly trying to please most players, because Sophy is still not smart enough to fully adapt to everyone’s skill level. In the early days, some races on the hardest difficulty were really hard to win. You often had a slower car, but that was the fun part. You had to push the car really hard in the corners, then make time on the straights. It was challenging, but in a good way.For example, the early Nürburgring GR.3 race was only three laps. You needed to be about three seconds ahead on the long straight every lap to have a real chance to win. That took a lot of skill. Hard, yes — but not impossible. If this game is supposed to be a realistic racing sim, then it’s normal that not everyone can win quickly. Even finishing top five is already good. If you don’t practice a lot or qualify well, why should winning be easy?

The downshift logic was changed and feels more realistic now. But something this important was dropped in a small, sudden update, which is kind of strange. So yeah, is it fair to believe that Sophy 3.1 — the version that uses the full track and doesn’t “cheat” in qualifying — will come after the GTWS Finals?

And since Sarah is already wearing 🎧,Why not let her turn on the mic and talk during endurance races? Just let her speak — the more, the better.

Forgot to mention that they seem to make a lot more mistakes on tracks that don't support Sophy in Custom Race mode. Call it a hunch, but on Daytona's Gr.C Memories event there was a Sauber that spun in the back stretch chicane. Every. Single. Lap.

At the Watkins Glen race for Gr.C Memories, the turn where the Long Course rejoins with the NASCAR layout saw many AI racers crashing into the barriers or running off course. And this wasn’t exclusive to the field-filling opponents; Even the GTWS opponents were doing it.

I think ive got to the point, since GT7 was released, that I cant seem to get any better than what I am.It seems the more I try the more mistakes that I make.Im not complaining just taking it as it comes,I dont understand how players that claim to be the slowest,or below average find the races so easy.Like I said im enjoying it,ive never noticed the issue with downshifts though.
Theres a guy on YT that does tunes for Tokyo and he rams it down into first gear for the first right hand turn after the long straight.Poor engine.😄

I'm willing to bet that the majority of people finding this easy are using paddle shift, ABS, traction control and so on. They've made it easy, not PD.
No, it's simply people extrapolating the level of difficulty of the entire DLC based on one or two events, or as is the case with the Oldtimers event at Nurb, they are cherry picking an obviously broken event and using that to claim all the events are of a similar difficulty.

Let me use the GT One at Le Mans as an example. The 2 Pepper GTR is faster in a straight-line than the other cars. So, as long as you don't make mistakes, you'll be fine. This is an easy 2 pepper race.

Here is my 2 pepper Group C memories from last night. I won by almost a second. I included a video so you can see what the last lap looked like, and that video is a more accurate representation of the event. If I posted a screenshot showing that I won by a second, would you have expect that this was the last lap?

And you used the best car… The middle car is a great challenge.. the NSX I would have to lock in crazy and I am not about that life right now lol! Great race congrats.
FYI, for the long endurance events, the save feature can be used as an exploit. If you exit the game to force the save, the race begins again as if it were a red flag, erasing the gaps. That gives everyone a chance to get themselves into a good position to win. Granted, it's a little cheezy, but I'm not likely to do the 24 hour races multiple times.

In the 2 pepper Spa events, I've had a few crashed already from pushing too hard and the save will literally save me. Also, I've discovered (or, I should say I suspect) that I can run a full fuel stint on RS tires, which should increase my chances of winning. I'm going to restart the 6 hours of Suzuka and bump myself up to 2 peppers. I want the bragging rights of 2 pepper on everything.

I really can't see why they've given three car choices for each race. Why not one, or five?
Just done the Euro Old Timers events at Sardegna and Catalunya on one-chilli level (ridiculously easier since the update, but that's a separate issue) and there are only 4 car types in the race (155, 190E, M3 and Sierra). Only the Sierra is RHD, and RHD is what I prefer. So, of course, the Sierra is the only one I can't choose to drive...
I just don't get why they can't offer all cars, BoP'ed to be equal, then just handicap them by weight for each chilli level (+100kg for one chilli, +200kg for two chillis), just like they did/do in normal race series like jgtc/Super GT...
