OMG THIS IS ALL I EVER WANTED!
The ability to use my own garage cars in the PP Endurance Races is amazing! Not only that they also opened up tuning for all the events as well so that's cool.

I am really impressed with this update. PD has really done something great for the players here. I know I'm going to be spending more time in the PP again just to see how ridiculous it can get.

Yet another reason why PD's decision making is so baffling to me... if all it took was hitting certain PP limits (amongst other restrictions, but you get the gist), then why the hell did it take them so long to implement this instead of adding it with the launch :grumpy:

Like I'm very happy the update added choice--I'll definitely use it for the remaining PP races on offer--it just feels so shortsighted (just like their horrible endurance race break "option;" reeks of "PD" trying to think outside the box for literally no good reason at all).

Maybe they had rushed the Power Pack to release alongside Spec 3?

Thankful for all the Power Pack updates they've been doing. It feels like a quite literal answer to my prayers about the main issues I've had since it's launch. Mid-race restarts, garage cars, a weekly challenge mode...now all that's missing is the option to turn off Sarah 😶

I don't care what anyone thinks, I'm using the Tomahawk in the 1000hp Deep Forest race. Not dealing with that cheating 400R...

As for the remaining Enduros I have, I have so many fun options in my garage...

You could use the Gr.1 Tomahawk, as the PP limit is a whopping 870PP. I felt no shame crushing it with my 787B. ;)

Here's a quick example. Gotta find a way to pay for those expensive new engine swaps 😅

$225k with the CRB for 7.5 minutes seems pretty good to me!

My qualifying lap was over 15 seconds faster than 2nd place Fraga 😳

To be completely 100% fair to PD if I were in their shoes I might launch the PP the same way even knowing users are going to be unhappy about the restrictions.

Basically I'll want to see PP uptake among the player base, how people are interacting with it, and also make sure to use that time to adjust Sophy where needed and THEN release an update that allows more player control when interacting with the content. Basically what PD did was the safest way to launch this in the most fair manner across the player base.

Lots of people didn't complain at all about the PP. Lots of what I call "highly invested players" did. I think the people complaining online are a non-majority portion of the player base.

EDIT: Does anyone know what the specs are for the specialty versions of the regular cars in the DLC?
For example in the Suzuka 6 Hour there's cars you can own outright and then racing versions of cars the game appears not to have.

I would really like to challenge the Suzuka and Spa PP Enduros with either the Viper or the Ferrari F40 but I can't seem to find any details about the specs.

Stoked to get back to the power pack using my own cars, for the simple reason that waaaaaaay too many of the stick shift cars were converted to sequential transmissions.

I’m going to do my best to relive my early Gran Turismo experiences where I would upgrade a single car as much as I could to see how far it’d take me

It was designed as a curated challenge mode. But the community saw it as a sort of second career mode instead, and wanted the according functionality, and now PD have backtracked to give people what they wanted from it.

I don't think this was shortsightedness at all for once, just a mode designed to give one experience that the community wanted a different experience from. Maybe this wouldn't be necessary if the proper career was better received.

For those who like deep cut racing game references: This is like if Riding Spirits II's Battle 100 mode let you use the bikes you'd acquired in Riding Spirits mode.

Me thinks they had something like this buried in the code, waiting to be "activated" if the survey they sent out said players very much wanted to use their own cars for the PP

I fully expect PP 2 to come with this by default.

I also expect this development to play a role in when/if Sophy 3.0 will be available in custom races. Sadly, I'm stuck at work until late, but I'm curious to see how the difficulty plays out in a garage car versus a provided one (with the relevant spice level, of course).

I've only completed one PP race with a garage car: Bump Draft Daytona. I used my own Corvette and easily hung with the leaders. Did not have a crazy speed advantage and even had to adjust my Aero to reduce drag so that I could go fast enough.

It is entirely possible to trivialize the PP races with garage cars and it's also possible to build a garage car that will provide multiple hours of close racing. It all depends on what the player wants to do.

LOVE the changes to Power Pack!

I said in the other thread that the "weekly challenges" are a nice addition to add replay value (even if slightly low-effort - would be cool if they rotated 3 different races each week).

The garage car unlocking is huge. It's a slight nuisance that the event restrictions aren't a little tighter (allowing a 2020's Maserati against 1970's Japan touring cars is silly) - but I'm all in favor of putting difficulty in the hands of the players. Until we get a custom slider, the only way we can manipulate the difficulty is by tuning our car accordingly.

Also, don't forget that they display the specs for the 3 pre-selected cars - so you have some guidance for what you should build to. The aliens can try to win at ~100 PP deficits and the average joes can keep try to win at the same PP level. Kind of like the "A-spec points" in GT4.

I saw the empty star above the ship. Entered the Power Pack and pressed the triangle to see the prizes, but no races. Weird.

I initially checked at 5am my time. It's currently 10:24am and I'm away from my PS5P.

There are no races.

You do any races you like. Do one and you get the first prize, two and you get the second, three and you get third and that's it until next week.

So who's gonna be the first to try and win the Nurburgring 24hr endurance with a Twingo? 😂
loses all advantages at the final straight

Wait you know what? I'm gonna try it first in the WTC600 at Nurburgring. Seems like fun lol
