Is it possible to get the maximum rewards/stars using a car from your garage?Had a look. You can use any car in your garage provided it meets certain specifications.
Like the Bump Draft race you need to be under 720PP. Doesnt even need to be a race car.

the important word here is "choice"Well, imo that's a step in the wrong direction. Look at 90% of the world circuit events. They are dull because events aren't well balanced because you can use a lot of different cars. That makes tweaking the difficulty very difficult or nearly impossible. Power Pack didn't have this problem because you got only three cars, so the devs could balance it...and it did work! Power Pack events are by far more entertaining than the world circuit events. Now with the free choice of garage cars this undermines it. It also makes me slightly pessimistic about the career in GT8. I know that GT was always about free choice of cars in the career races but it also was a "catch the rabbit"-esc procedure. Start last, finish first.
At least they didn't erase the 3 cars selection for every race...
Not convincing me. People tend to do it the easy way. Imagine Souls games would have difficulty levels. Fascination of these games would drop immediately and the balancing would be mediocre. No, having the choice isn't always the best. That's why rules exist.the important word here is "choice"
You will always have people who chose the hardest mode anyway. I prefer to be free to chose what level I want to tackle. Not convincing me. People tend to do it the easy way. But have fun. It's just not working for me.
I completely agree...Not convincing me. People tend to do it the easy way. Imagine Souls games would have difficulty levels. Fascination of these games would drop immediately and the balancing would be mediocre. No, having the choice isn't always the best. That's why rules exist.

so did they become easier? They adjusted the difficulty because I finally managed the two chilli civics on Suzuka
The chilli’s event are still tied to the specific cars
I won a race from last place on the grid and got just one star. And I was under the suggested PP.Is it possible to get the maximum rewards/stars using a car from your garage?
Can we assume you previously finished second in this race and there was only 1 star left to collect?I won a race from last place on the grid and got just one star. And I was under the suggested PP.
Looks like it. @bliprunner ? can you expand ?Can we assume you previously finished second in this race and there was only 1 star left to collect?
Yep. Just leathered the first Hakosuka race with a 660PP Maserati MC20 for all 20 stars. Is it possible to get the maximum rewards/stars using a car from your garage?
Ah yes, I guess that is the reason. I don't think any stars should be awarded really, I'd like to see them add more challenge, not less.Looks like it. @bliprunner ? can you expand ?
Well, imo that's a step in the wrong direction. Look at 90% of the world circuit events. They are dull because events aren't well balanced because you can use a lot of different cars and the AI is garbage. That makes tweaking the difficulty very difficult or nearly impossible. I'm glad I waited to start it.The ability to use garage cars is a huge improvement mainly for the road car races and endurances. Tailoring the car to your liking has always been a big part of what makes GT the experience it is, but until now everyone was forced to use cars that were terrible to put it mildly. Suspensions so low that there's no room for movement, so stiff that the previous point becomes moot as there isn't any to begin with, and LSDs so locked that it's either understeer city or powerslide galore. Now I can at least look forward to the endurances without dreading the thought of hours of driving a car that has all the compliance of a block of wood with a welded differential.
Further improvements could include stricter regulations, such as year and nationality to prevent things like @Famine 's MC20 mentioned above, and lower PP limits for the chilis but it's probably a work in progress for the future.
I hear you, but GT at its core is choosing your own car and going your own way in the career. As you can still choose preset cars, you get the best of both worlds. Not convincing me. Disagree. Because the default cars are still there and there's still bragging rights to be had by completing all the events with 2 golden chili. In the end it increases replayability of Power Pack because you can try different cars, tunes, etc.Well, imo that's a step in the wrong direction. Look at 90% of the world circuit events. Agreed. Civic Si EG in the Civic race is too low for Suzuka. On the other hand, many cars have good handling and motivated me to explore tuning in the main game beyond what I already knew. The ability to use garage cars is a huge improvement mainly for the road car races and endurances.
