Judging by the handling and gearing characteristics, I wouldn't be surprised if they were bone stock what comes to the settings of the parts equipped. For example the suspension used is anybody's guess though but the ride height can give clues.

Hmmm? was going to buy the power pack today with me being off work this week. Not so sure now after reading replies on here. I am mid level player been dabbling in custom races vs sophy and enjoy that. Got fed up of maniacs on daily races and thought the power pack could be a good answer...any suggestions?

For what it’s worth I think its some of the best GT content we've seen in quite some time. I am a mid level player too by my estimation.

I’m a C level driver and I’ve won all but 4 races before the update (excluding the endurance races). I really enjoyed it.

Hey there!

A bit of context about me:
  • Extensive custom races with Sophy (I made a series called the Sophy 590 cup - details in the custom race thread)
  • Ranked A driver (with a goal of A+)
  • Completed all but the two 24-hour races of the Power Pack - and all but two races total I completed pre-update
  • Most races I've completed between 1-5 times and a few with multiple difficulty ratings.
To me, this is very worth the money.

The races are scaled to skill; using the primary car has the least difficulty all the way to the two chili option. Now you can use your garage cars as well. Additionally, there are now weekly challenges where you only have to complete three races to get the bonus (vs. a podium finish in the standard weekly challenge. And a couple of the cars that are exclusive to the Power Pack I actually drive in single-player time trial pretty darn often #PSVR2

If you're tired of the online environment, want a challenging race environment, enjoy the idea of a practice/qualify/race format, enjoy longer races and the option to grab cars from your garage when you want to have a different livery (or just want a different car to race) I think the Power Pack is a great choice.

As always, that's just my opinion. I hope it helps.

I have recently gotten back into the Power Pack races. My recent fun has been tuning race-tuned road cars and race cars for these races. One question on the GT500 races, does either of the McLaren F1 GTRs show up as opponents?

Yes, both do IIRC. I know for a fact the Longtail does.

Just finished the 8 hour Spa endurance.
I had rain for over 3 hours, then completely dry till the end.
Two Mclarens F1 were on my tail the entire race. I was only able to close the gap due to the quit/resume method, otherwise I would have finished with a 2 or more lap gap.

OK so now I'm confused about the Spa 8hr race.

I tried the softs but the loss in the later laps has me wondering whether or not the mediums would've been a better bet.

Then there's the fact that the leaders are pitting after stints at least 8 laps longer.

A member said earlier that they slow down towards the end of the race and "come back to you", something I repeated based on this to another member earlier, but now I'm wondering why it is that they slow down.

Ignoring a possible slow-down, I'm struggling to see how even an A+ driver can win this, given the length of pit stops and the greater number required due to the fuel-consumption rate of the 2-chilli car.

I only had less than an hour to sus it out, but that's how it's looking to me ATM.

Everything about the endurance races is so horribly and disappointingly half-arsed. I’ve jibbed my Spa 8hr half-way through. What with the lead cars being faster and going twice as long, the wildly unpredictable suspend race “feature”, and now a bug that removes the HUD lap history two laps into resuming the race, it’s just not giving me any sense of satisfaction. I still maintain the very premise of the Power Pack is flawed with the “challenge” being based around car nerfs rather than differing levels of Sophy skill (unlike Custom Race). PP Sophy feels way more scripted than Custom Race Sophy.

Kicked things off with the one chilli car, majorly underestimated the power pack.
Didn't help I was trying to set off in 5th gear after qualifying 8th lol
What you described I felt in my soul. I thought I was "all that and a buttermilk biscuit" and even after qualifying first with the Supra at Trial Mountain . . . I got left at the line.

Not to mention using the GT40 at LeMans . . . that was an ego check.

I eventually decided to use the default car the first time in the series and scale the difficulty up from there.

'Cept for Eiger. I'm not ever trying that at Eiger. I'll take a 959 to that track before the two chilli option.

I like the challenge n'all and will stick to the one chilli car, but thoroughly enjoying the race experience in the power pack, rather than the chase game on regular world circuit races.

Same here.

Since the garage car update, I would have sunk many more hours into it by now if they could streamline the experience, with Garage/Tuning Shop access straight from the PP menu and things like that.

So far, I've been dipping in exclusively for the Weekly Rewards using randomly selected cars.

I would agree. I did the European Oldtimer race at the Nurburgring GP and didn't know until I was in the weekend that I needed Rain tires and the Race Shop isn't in the menu during the whole weekend. Another thing is not being able to tweak your setup while in the Practice and Qualifying sessions, which I don't understand either.

Just finished the 6hr of Suzuka race. My pace with the NSX just wasn't fast enough to win, so I had to go full Flavio Briatore at the end and use the resume feature for my advantage. Similar story with the 8hr of Spa. Will wait for the next update to tackle the 24hr of Le Mans, my last race of the Power Pack. I'll give the Suzuka race a second try with another strategy, maybe then I can win it fair and square, it's quite the challenge.

That might be the most enjoyable race I've had so far in the Power Pack. I didn't use the resume to my advantage; it actually worked out pretty evenly

With the one-chili option I won the endurance race by . . .

about seven seconds.

I could not hold on for so long 😅

Ooo, first gripe found. Thought there was no retry option, really bugged me now that I know I have the option. Took away an element of realism..on a brighter note had a fabulous race with carrazza an de bruin earlier. last 5 laps of a 10 lap race was the 3 of us exchanging places...thrilling race.

You can join me in the "pretend it's not there" club

That wasn't there initially, but they added it after the release. Part of me likes it, part of me doesn't (for realism reasons). So I also just ignore it and go on as if I don't have it.

4 hours in LeMans 24 hours race and playing with the 2 chili car feels like playing on easy mode.
I am leading the entire field by 1 lap. I've had 3 moments where I had heavy rain for 2 laps and then semi wet track. The AI is making some very bad pit stops. First they pit for Wets, when the heavy rain stops they switch to IM tyres and 2 laps after they switch to Medium or Soft tyres while I just stay on IM tyres the entire time.

If anyone really thinks there isn't rubberbanding in the Power Pack, explain this. My qualifying lap was a bit shoddy, could have done a 1'53 easily, and as always there's no fuel weight or tyre wear in qualifying. Against that background my low 1'54 in the race checks out pretty well but that's where it ends. In the race there's a 100 litre fuel load and wearing tyres, yet Carrazza went a full second faster and Inostroza almost two while fighting with me. Call it adaptive AI, always having someone to race with, or whatever - in the end it's still rubberbanding.

And it sucks because if I improve my skills it should mean I'll have an easier time because I've put in the time to practice. Everyone didn't, for example, suddenly begin running the 100m sprint half a second faster when Usain Bolt entered the scene just to give him a challenge.

Still hoping someone can help me out with this.

Now there's a "new one" - Suzuka.

Tried the mediums and softs. Got way-closer with the softs, but matching the leaders or even reeling them in slowly wasn't enough, especially since they pitted every 16 laps and I 12.

Thoughts and / or tips for either of these enduros would be so very much appreciated; I'm at-a-loss now. :gtpflag:

Suzuka is definitely possible on pace. I think Spa from what I recall is an absolute mess but Suzuka you can out drive the AI, I was just under a second faster than them per lap from what I recall.
When the weather comes they usually make awful decisions and you can pull off a couple pitstop gaps in from them both pitting too often and staying out too long on dry tyres.
