That's not the salient detail of my question.

They added new functionality to that feature in this actual update. It was added in 1.70 on Thursday June 11th. I posted it for you from the patch notes:

The question wasn't "why remove a feature two updates after adding it" but "why would they bother giving new functionality to a feature if they knew they were removing the feature mere days later"?

It'd be a complete waste of effort and, while they do weird and hard to understand things sometimes, they don't gladly spend effort on improving something they're about to delete.

That is what renders your notion unlikely.
Yes I totally agree with you, please, im sorry for thinking otherwise and it didn't make sense.
PD wouldn't bother removing the features that were just added, it  would be a big waste of time and resources and get the fanbase mighty upset.
Yes my notion is a moot point and more likely had been from the beginning for which i am truly sorry also.
I still am puzzled why I saw things differently as my perception was "there is a deadline and something is ending"
Was I wrong to even think of that?

Did Pd fix the pit stop bug after the reset? I did half of the 8 hours of spa with the mclaren f1 and tomorrow i Will finish it

That's what I came here to ask. I'm doing the 24hr Nurburgring and the AI seems to have no problem filling up to a full tank after resuming from progress data, although I'm still in the first half of the race.

I'm 15 hours in Le Mans, and haven't encountered that bug. They probably did fix it.

Two chilis in a nutshell - driving a mobility scooter against race cars, the AI not being affected in any way by fuel weight or tyre wear, and one designated rubber band rabbit being hooked to your rear bumper no matter what. Easily beating his qualifying time of course because otherwise you'd be able to get away.

And they're playing destruction derby as usual. One of those hits ruined my CRB and had I known it I would have smashed Serrano to beyond the circuit perimeter in the first corner and had an easier time for the rest of the race.

I thought that Autopolis was bad but boy was I wrong. Having just tried Gr.C Memories at Watkins Glen I'm pretty sure that's one that can't be won cleanly and with the fastest lap on the two chili turd that is called the Sauber. Whatever lap time you do, the rubberbanded Drumont and Serrano will better by a tenth or two, again being faster than their qualifying times by the time my front tyres are already toasted and they're showing no change of pace. I can take pole by about a second but having to fight through the race with entirely different physics compared to them is cra... no, make that explosive bloody diarrhea with a dysentery diagnosis.

EDIT - No idea what happened, but an entirely new attempt from the practice onwards was like a completely different race. The two Porsches were nowhere to be seen after the start and I traded places on the back straight with Miyazono's Sauber for the entire race, winning by about half a second in the end. Massive differences between runs.

Finally finished the Nurburgring 24hr today, and as a result, I joined the 1000⭐️, 100% 🌶🌶 club. Oddly enough, the entire race was rain-free; not a single drop showed up on the radar.

Completed it with the Audi? Any tips to beat it? I am currently 4 hours in and it's difficult to get a decent lead as I always lose time and speed on straights.

Correct, Audi R8 LMS. You'll want to be running somewhere below 8:18s on average in order to pull away from (or catch up to) the competition. If you're not quite there yet, keep at it as running more and more laps will help you memorize braking points. Just stay on medium tires and run 9 lap stints. When the AI switches to hard tires, you'll eventually be able to gain more time.

Are y'all pausing the game for the 24 hour races so you can rest, or are y'all just running the entire thing all in one go?

I remember in GT4 if I needed a break I could just switch it to B-spec and let it run for a bit. But since there's no B-spec anymore, I'd need to pause the game to rest. I can't do a full 24 hours in one sitting.

There's a third option...

From there you just need to take part in the race until you run out of willpower — it’s unclear if there is a minimum number of laps/time, but we’ve seen it as low as single-digits — but take great care how you proceed from that point onwards. If you click on the “Retire” button, that’s your race done; what you need to do is forcibly shut the game down from the PlayStation home menu, or turn your console off entirely.

Next time you boot up the game, head into the DLC (via the ship moored in the bottom-left corner of the World Map) and select the race, you’ll be presented with a “Resume” screen that allows you to jump back into the race — but it’s as if a red flag has been thrown.

That means you’ll restart at the beginning of your last completed lap, with gaps between cars on the lead lap now eliminated. You’ll also have fresh tires, but your fuel load will be as it was before you terminated the game — so try to avoid using the feature until a couple of laps after you’ve pitted.

It’s also worth noting that you don’t actually need to head directly back to your race. You can go and do anything else the game offers, including other Power Pack races and any of the three other endurance races, and return to it at any time.

I don't tend to complain too much since it's just a game but... here I go.

So I tried a European Classics event at the Nürburgring Grand Prix Circuit and I noticed... The AI has 433 HP Cars and I had a Skyline Super Silhouette 790'ish HP car and the AI had the biggest Slow Car Boost I've rarely seen in Gran Turismo games. Not only that but it almost felt like the game was powering my car down and lowering my handling and increasing both for them.

I could be wrong and I hope I'm wrong. Anyways, I only won because the A.I. Derped out and started with RH tires in rain to switch them after Lap 1 and switching their tires to RH again after lap 4-5.

Oh and... Rain was barely affecting them when it was about 50-60% when they were using RH tires.

I've been going though the Power Pack each level at a time, so all races (except endurance) have been done at no chilis, now I'm working on 1 chili. Did anyone else have real trouble with the Civic race at Suzuka?
Not real trouble, but that 1 chili Civic is a strong candidate to be crowned POS #1 of the entire Power Pack. Looks like it doesn't have a wide body modification so the tyres rival pizza cutters in width and are made of Bakelite, and on top of that it has a full racing brake set fitted which ensures the fronts will lock on the very moment you even think about braking and the rears do practically nothing as the ABS cuts pressure for the entire system. Or your foot if you don't use ABS. To make things even worse it feels like it has a welded differential that makes sure it won't turn one bit in that hugely long braking zone as you're trying to get the plastic to grab the tarmac. Then when you hit the throttle again the gearbox has ratios so wide that the second gear is just about useless for anything else than laying rubber down and from then on it drops out of the powerband every single time you shift.

Le Mans is done with the Sauber C9. It was a pretty straightforward race, remaining dry, and my strategy was consistently RM/FM2 for 20-lap stints. 460 laps completed total with Serrano in 2nd completing 452.

Only the Nürburgring endurance race is left for me to win everything here. I’m tempted to start tonight, but I’m gonna take a break instead!

This is a bit of a guess, but probably not entirely unfounded. I'm now on my third run through the PP - zero and two chilis done, one in progress - and now I have time to look at things. The thing in this case being fuel consumption and tyre wear.

Today I did the GT300 races and after Autopolis was finished I checked the replay just for fun to see how dead the FTO's front tyres were at the end, seeing that mine weren't exactly in good shape either. Whaaaat... lots better than mine. I mean half the wear, if even that. In a FWD car that accelerates noticably faster than the 400 bhp S15 Touring Car so something like 450 bhp on tap through the fronts so they should be in shreds, in reality they were anything but. The fuel gauge was also at about an eighth of the tank gone, I had used a quarter. Well OK, it's GrB swapped, but still. I had a race car instead of a tuned road car too after all.

Then I did the Kyoto race and the replay showed the exact same thing there too. No way that's a coincidence, and I remember from this thread someone doing the Spa endurance and being in trouble as the AI runs stints twice as long with a full power fuel map. Nobody has reported the same from the 24h races and I think I may know why. Those races dont have fuel and tyre multipliers - the other cases do.

The 8h Spa race has 2x for both, the GT300 races have 3x for tyres and 2x for fuel. I really doubt it's a coincidence that someone has the AI going twice as far on a tank at Spa, the same happens to me in GT300, and a FWD car has half the front tyre wear of my RWD. If I was a gambling man I'd put a significant amount of money on the AI not having multipliers at all while the player does.
