Not really, just showing the state of the RS's just prior to pitting, if they wear much more than that the traction really drops off and the lap times suffer a lot.
I don't keep count of laps between pitting, I just run the car until only 1 lap remains on the estimated range. I think it comes to 13 laps but will try to remember to keep count as I'll probably finish the race today
Hey thanks man.

Just one thing:
"... just showing the state of the RS's just prior to pitting, if they wear much more than that..." still doesn't tell me anything 'cause I can't see the pics.

Could you maybe describe the wear / red zone as a rough percentage? Thanks mate.

Has anyone else noticed that the Sophy AI is a bit more "all over the place"? I have mostly done the Daytona Bump-Drafting race, even in other ones, Sophy's car placement is worse. It seems to me that they are less aware of their surroundings that before the update.
Yeah I've noticed. I put it down to Sophy's being trained on the old-physics settings.

Around 40% tread remaining. If you're using a wheel it's quite easy to not abuse them now because the FFB update has a very clear indication once you steer beyond peak grip and start scrubbing the tyres. It used to feel a lot more subtle, now it feels more 'gamey' like an on/off switch.

I've thrown Gemini the part of the picture with the tyre wear and here's what she tells me (roughly what I guesstimated with my current eyesight)

  • Front Left: ~40% available
  • Front Right: ~40% available
  • Rear Left: ~30% available
  • Rear Right: ~30% available
P.S. Ooops, sorry, too late. Much better than just raw numbers, as explained by @Bonneville120 with the wheel feedback as well.

2 hours in to 1-chili Suzuka endurance. Running 18 lap stints on mediums. Only me and 2 Supras now on the leading lap. Some rain in the distance but it doesn't seem to be getting nearer to the track. Will resume after a red flag tonight for another long stint - so much for my hard-earned lead.

Having to make up time through the bends in an underpowered car is not my usual method of racing, but keeps things interesting. I do think the Sophys have changed since the update, especially as backmarkers. They now seem to purposefully get in the way as much as possible. Had to nudge a few into the gravel.

Got too bored and retired from the race about 3 hours in. Endurance is not for me. Those 4 races will forever stay uncompleted.
As they will be for me also. The same reason as well. I have no desire to mindlessly do laps for 8-24 hours.

Throw some music on and lower the engine sounds? That’s usually what I do for offline races in general.

All races in the PP have their rabbits, it's literally the same as in the regular game, the only difference is you can qualify, and the only reason you can qualify is because the cars are more evenly matched. It's just a different brand of artificial.

Personally I prefer the regular game than a DLC in which the AI cars are sped up while you are slowed down if you choose the worse car. Not to mention the large inconsistency in difficulty.

Also, there's no "racecraft" to be improved when all races (except endurance) are sprints and many have no fuel/tire consumption. It's pretty much just push hard all the way until the end. No traffic management either, as, if you're good, you start in the front row anyway.

Praise the PP all you want, but not for its difficulty. This is actually one of its weakest points.
The problem with the regular game is very bad and inconsistent AI, the regular AI is not always very bad in all cars on all tracks, it's just that Sophy AI 2.0-3.0 is exceptionally much more fun and human like. While if you're saying custom race then we have most of the options we want, but that is not a championship and even doing a one race in the power pack is more fun because of the options and start from standstill and start first!!

We're making our own championships in custom races, and I have to say that (to me) it looks like they are building the AI with championships in mind, because they work really well.

They're obviously not though because it's just not a feature in the game. It'd have to be always assuming every event you do is part of a theoretically infinite championship and at that point it's just a regular race again anyway.
Like it's good you've built up a story around what you're doing but it is a story, the games not actively influencing that.

Yeah, we need to have option to link races like the World Circuit Championships.

I get the Asia-Oceania and European Championships don't have qualifying(again, something PD half-assed and then added to a mode of the game people have to pay for), like Sport Mode and Power Pack, but at least there's something resembling a championship.

Are these two championships in the power Pack?Or have I missed something somewhere?

Well, we don't know and we can hope. Many have been asking for a custom championship tool and the Power Pack set up would have a home in something like that. I doubt they'll implement this in the main game and it would be unlike them to throw away systems they have created.

It's very much a PD thing to create a portion of a full feature and release it to see how the public reacts. Fingers crossed.

Hello everybody !
After finish the Classic races of Power Pack yesterday on
🌶️🌶️ difficut , I decided to begin the Endurance races today.
I began the 06 hours of Suzuka on 🌶️🌶️ with the NSX this afternoon.
My qualification is on 4th 1:58.480 🫤🤔
I start the race on RS and I am 1st on the second lap (De Bruin & Drumont start RM) and, for the first 12 laps stint, I pit and I change RS to RS and refuel 2 laps. Idem at the lap 24.
I lapped 1:58:xxx to 2:00.xxx (1:58:349 best)
I switch to RM and full tank at the lap 24 (De Bruin & Drumont on RH). I lapped 2:00.xxx to 2:02.xx on RM.
After 01 hour (30 laps), I have 1:20 minutes gap.
My questions, It's normal to have a significant gap with the De Bruin & Drumont Supra like this ?
After resume the race (red flag), It's the same strategy for them or they change (RM or RS) ?
Many thanks for your clarifications 👍😉
PS : the traffic is awfull, they don't care about blue flag 😤

Remember than, in endurance races, blue flags work differently to, say, F1. The cars to be lapped only have to be aware of you (which I doubt Sophy is sometimes) but do not have to move away or give way. They're doing their own race. You still have to earn your overtake.

@tonidavid5 Many thanks for your response.
I understand this but they are very slow on 130R for exemple !
I nearly crash the F40 and the Diablo 😱🫣
And for the rhythm, is it "normal" to have a gap like this ?

I haven't raced any of the enduros yet but form what I recall from others who have you're basically doing fine with those rhythms. It's true that specially in Suzuka Sophy is quite slow on turns and then just shoots off on straights. If you search for "suzuka" on this thread you'll find plenty of feedback.

So I don't worry about that and yes, the Supra and McLaren are very fast on straight !

I have search this morning but I don't find pertinent feedback.
Many thanks for your response my friend 😉

I’ve seen this sentiment expressed before on GTP, but GT7 literally displays on-screen “Blue Flag” and “Give way to faster cars”. That’s the GT7 rule, irrespective of race type, and it should be respected by Sophy too, but it isn’t.

No GT AI has ever been subject to the same rules as the player, since GT3.

Sophy cannot, for example, receive penalties - not even those for yellow flag infringements.

They kind-of obey endurance racing blue flag convention (and that'sa convention, not the letter of the law) which is to drive predictably, not make sudden movements, and only leave the racing line if it's safe and practical to do so.

But they don't half move back onto it sharpish.

That could possibly explain why the power pack doesn’t seem to apply any penalties to the player, or at least I’ve never received one, unlike regular AI races.

Has anyone with prior experience on the 500-hp Trial Mountain race tried it after the update? This is the first power pack race I'm trying post-update and after ten laps in practice I'm 2 seconds off the fastest time, done in the same car I'm driving.

I was able to beat every race on hard up to this point, and I wanted to know if the 500-hp races are just that much more difficult or if the physics update has benefited Sophy in some crazy way.

Hey ! I haven't test it after the Maj but I have finish regular races on 🌶️🌶️ this weekend.
Maggiore Supra 500ch and Autopolis NSX have a good level but not very hard.
Deep Forest Skyline R32 1000ch is very hard (see my post on Weekly challenges thread).
I don't redo Trial Mountain Supra 500ch but I remember before the Maj, it was very hard too, the blue Supra flying on the track !
I'm on the NSX 06H of Suzuka so, when I finish it, I redo this race for fun 😅
Certain races are very hard on 🌶️🌶️, others are quite easy 😉

I've been going though the Power Pack each level at a time, so all races (except endurance) have been done at no chilis, now I'm working on 1 chili. Did anyone else have real trouble with the Civic race at Suzuka?

I can qualify P1 no problem, but by T1 I'm always down to 3rd or so. I can make my way back to P1 by the time I get to the Degners, but the hairpin every time just kills me. The 1-chili Civic just doesn't turn at low speed, so I can be well over a second or so ahead, but by the time I exit the hairpin I've lost places again. The others cars just glide around the hairpin.
Quoting myself for context: I don't know whether it's the new physics or a change to car tunes, but the Civic race at Suzuka has been transformed. The car actually turns now and I've been able to rather comfortably win by a fair few seconds at 1 and 2 chilis.

I logged back to GT Planet to report this...

Suzuka Civic Race 2 peppers was my go to race when I wanted a get humbled. I tried different strategies, always clean racing, no shortcuting, could never do better than 4th position.

Tonight, first try since the new update, I get Pole Position 5 seconds ahead. I finish the race like 30 seconds ahead.

There is clearly something wrong, the AI was holding back.
This race is now broken. If all the 2 peppers race are like that, it's meaningless. Or maybe I am the greatest driver now!

I agree with your comments, the car is easier to rotate with the brakes, and a slide in tight corners is easier to control.

Hello everybody !
Yesterday, I have finished and won my first endurance race, the 06 Hours of Suzuka, on 🌶️🌶️ with the NSX 🥳🎉
My recap : Qualification => 4th, Supras are very fast, especially on straights, you can't beat them.
The McLaren F1 "short tail" beat me in the last minute 🫤
Not a bad qualification 1:58.464 but I wish to be 03, between the Supras. Less 1:58.000 can't be possible for me 🤔
1000254881.webp

Race => A very good surprise. FM1, RS/RM
I started on RS, for maximise the potential of the NSX (FM1, brake balance 1 on rear)
I overtake Lopez McLaren very quickly, the Supras before the end of the lap 02 👍
After this, I unrolled until the end.
RS->RS>RM->RS->RS->RM ... 10/12laps on RS, 17/20 on RM. No rain for this race.
For the fuel, 14 laps for RS and full tank for RM.
I have save 4 times so, when before I stopped, I pit to new RS for the future rolling start.
It save the lap gap if you overtake a latecomer !
After every restart, Drumont Supra passed me but I overtook very quickly.
The traffic is awfull : they can't have a good position on the track so you have to be patient for overtaking. I crashed and bumped many times, l'IA tend to brake hardly in certains turns 😤
Supra Drumont race on RM and De Bruin on RH : they lapped on 2:02:xxx on RM and 2:04:xxx on RH but they ran with gasoline vapor so their stints are very long !
1000254882.webp

For win, you must be lapping on 1:58:xxx to 2:03:xxx for not be catch up. You must optimise the Time when you have a clean way because, when you have traffic, you spend quickly 01 to 03 seconds for clean overtaking.
1000254883.webp

If I don't crash or spin, I can drive more 01 or 02 laps. 173 laps isn't bad I think 🤔😅
Now, I want to choose 12h Spa with the 🌶️🌶️ McLaren F1 GT3 but I don't know how about it's difficult to win ?!
Many thanks for reading my recap, I hope I haven't polluted your thread 😅
😉
