Hello everybody !
Yesterday, I have finished and won my first endurance race, the 06 Hours of Suzuka, on 🌶️🌶️ with the NSX 🥳🎉
My recap : Qualification => 4th, Supras are very fast, especially on straights, you can't beat them.
The McLaren F1 "short tail" beat me in the last minute 🫤
Not a bad qualification 1:58.464 but I wish to be 03, between the Supras. Less 1:58.000 can't be possible for me 🤔

Race => A very good surprise. FM1, RS/RM
I started on RS, for maximise the potential of the NSX.
I overtake Lopez McLaren very quickly, the Supras before the end of the lap 02 👍
After this, I unrolled until the end.
RS->RS>RM->RS->RS->RM ... 10/12laps on RS, 17/20 on RM.
For the fuel, 14 laps for RS and full tank for RM.
I have save 4 times so, when before I stopped, I pit to new RS for the future rolling start.
It save the lap gap if you overtake a latecomer !
After every restart, Drumont Supra passed me but I overtook very quickly.
The traffic is awfull : they can't have a good position on the track so you have to be patient for overtaking. I crashed and bumped many times, l'IA tend to brake hardly in certains turns 😤
Supra Drumont race on RM and De Bruin on RH : they lapped on 2:02:xxx on RM and 2:04:xxx on RH but they ran with gasoline vapor so their stints are very long !

For win, you must be lapping on 1:58:xxx to 2:03:xxx for not be catch up. You must optimise the Time when you have a clean way because, when you have traffic, you spend quickly 01 to 03 seconds for clean overtaking.

If I don't crash or spin, I can drive more 01 or 02 laps. 173 laps isn't bad I think 🤔😅
Now, I want to choose 12h Spa with the 🌶️🌶️ McLaren F1 GT3 but I don't know how about it's difficult to win ?!
Many thanks for reading my recap, I hope I haven't polluted your thread 😅
😉
Congrats! Good race and nice recap!!!

Did the Supra GT Road Car always understeer like it has bricks for wheels? The 2-chili 500-Horsepower Tunning Battle at Trial Mountain Circuit feels impossible right now. C. Lopez is magically lapping a full second quicker in the same car. I swear I’ve never felt this much understeer in GT since the Civic races at Suzuka.

Thats because it isn't the same car. The 2 chili version is detuned with a ballast. It's not the AI cheating.

PP to get more difficult in December

Is this part of spec 4? Great that means ill have to do the endurance races again lol. I saw the collector level is going up again as well, hope I dont instantly max it like I did last time
Yep, spec 4 with updated Sophy as well

I really hope the upcoming improvements to Sophy are a complete rework of the current 3.0 implementation.

The biggest things for me are:

A much more subtle spread in AI lap times, and that reflecting in race (i.e. you are racing the whole grid, not just passing the first 10 cars in the first lap)
Higher difficulty coming from the AI actually driving better, rather than simply making the player's car worse.

If the 10-pepper difficulty means your car is massively detuned, I'm not sure that really qualifies as an improvement to Sophy. I'd much rather see the AI become genuinely faster, smarter, and more competitive.

I honestly wish the Power Pack had included an improved version of Sophy 2.1 rather than what we got. I was really looking forward to the "new evolution of Sophy," but the experience ended up feeling more like "detune the player's car as much as possible and try to catch P1."

We'll have to wait and see what the next version brings. Hopefully they take Sophy in the right direction.

Let's wait and see. It could just be a graphical replacement of the 3 chilis :D

I haven't found 3 chili to be all the difficult with all the updates.
There isn’t a 3 chilli difficulty option in the Power Pack currently.

Oh right, it's 0 chili, then 1, then 2. It's been a while since I've looked at it.

Yeah, I was really looking forward to the Power Pack and some “hardcore” racing. But it wasn’t hardcore, it was quite easy for many, races were mostly short, no penalties or damage, you only seem to race one or two cars, Sophy is laughably slow at some tracks like Le Mans because it doesn’t use kerbs properly, you can’t turn off the driver names and pics without turning off the whole hud… etc

And now, a year later, PD are saying “ok, this time it’s actually hardcore!” Well I hope so but I’m not expecting much, even if PD add 10,000 chillis.

(But I am a bit excited for the new tracks and shuffle races, thanks PD 👌🏻✨)

I ended up finishing this race in third 16 seconds behind the leader. The jump in difficulty over the other races I've done is insane, to the point I was wondering if the update had messed with something. Someone mentioned that this race was always a tough one, so I might have to give up on golding every race with two chilis.

I've already lost interest in maintaining 100% after that reverse Nurburgring circuit experience. I'm at a point where time is precious so I only want to do what I truly enjoy in the game, and this game's difficulty spread is the widest I've ever seen.

The Supra is pretty terrible in its own right though. Yes, it is detuned compared to what the AI runs, but no amount of setup work can make it actually good. Even with all that downforce it gets a better power to weight ratio compared to most other cars with a similar PP figure which can only mean one thing - grip issues. And that's exactly what it has, mechanical grip both in the front and in the rear is just about non-existant and the aero doesn't even help all that much.

Its supposed to be hard, its a 2 chili race

I mean the actual car, not how it's in the race. Having tried to tune my own copy it's really a futile attempt, the balance and behaviour can be changed but the overall grip level stays the same and it isn't even a bad joke. It doesn't really turn, it breaks the rear loose at half throttle in places where many other similarly powered RWD cars can take full throttle, and it's woefully slow as a result. No idea what PD was trying to do with it but as a whole it isn't noticably better than the normal Mk IV Supra despite being portrayed as a road going GT racer, you'd expect handling closer to the Amuse S2000 GT1 but it turns out to be just a normal Supra with more power and a bodykit.

Prior to this last patch, I had been running the Nurb 24 in the 2 chili Audi, and have had zero issue holding a lead after restarts. Now suddenly, the AI are running 10 seconds a lap faster than me previous fastest lap on the same tires. 18 hours into this race, and I'm now concerned I may not be able to win it.

I found post recent update that the DLC AI got incredibly stupid. I have spent most of my time at the Nurburgring Endurance race post update and the number of times per lap an AI car goes off track is greater than 1. Sometimes you'll get 4-5 cars going off on the stretch between the end of Pflanzgarten and Schwalbenschwanz (basically the whole Stefan-Bellof S's)

They also go off on the run between Flugplatz and Adneaur Forst. Pre update they would not do that. I think the problem is that they didn't update the AI code just the physics behind the cars and tires and now the AI is trying to drive lines the physics just can't handle any more or made too sketchy/uncontrollable.

It is not possible to code an AI for the computer cars that could provide a competitive race for long time enfranchised players and also people new to the game/genre, it just doesn't work. You've got to have difficulty sliders far more robust than the chili system we currently have.

I can take the BMW 2011 GT3, downtune it so that it barely reaches 700PP, and still win the N24 in the DLC by laps. I did the 2 chili and won by laps. I'm a B/S driver in online mode and nowhere near an A. I remember finishing Le Mans 3 laps up and being really happy about that and then GOTMAXPOWER posted screens of his and he won by nearly 10 AND his lap average was 3 seconds faster than my fastest lap. PD simply can't accommodate myself and MAX let alone MAX and someone who's completed enough of the game to open the DLC and has really never played GT or sim racing before. The skill gap is too wide.

You may need to "cheat" and by that I mean hit a restart shortly before pit cycles would begin. It's my understanding that this can "trick" the AI cars into thinking the fuel they have at race restart is their max capacity. If you do it right you can get them pitting about every 2 laps :D

Hello everybody !
I have a question about the saving process on Endurance race.
I'm doing actually Spa race and, I pit on the end of lap 69, I ran 3 laps, I saved at middle track on lap 74.
Good race, more difficult than Suzuka and the traffic is more manageable.
After saving, I control it and I saw it save at lap 71 🤨🤔
How can it remove laps ? I did make a mistake when I saved ?
Many thanks for your response 😉

It's works like a "save point rollback".
You must complete at least 3 full laps (crossing the start/finish line of the 2nd proper lap/completing out laps fully) before quitting, or you risk restarting with an empty fuel tank because this backup save works every certain number of laps.

There's an article on GTP about it.

That doesn't work anymore.

Best to do it without restarts if you can, so you maintain the delta. What place are you currently? Every now and then Drumont and the other faster drivers will randomly switch to Hards so you should be able to catch up. Also if there's rain they might get caught out mid way thru a lap which would help you.

It's not a save process, and you don't save anything. The system is designed as a backup in case of power, disconnection, or game crash issues during multi-hour endurance races, and is fully passive. You can only activate it by simulating a loss of power, a disconnection, or a game crash.

It operates like a red flag. In real life that allows for a change of tyres but not refuelling, and a rollback to the positions at the end of the last fully completed lap (so usually the end of the lap one before the one completed before starting the current lap) before restarting the race with the gaps for each train on the same lap closed up.

In GT7 that gives you a change of tyres but no refuelling and rather than rolling back positions only it wholly rolls back to the antepenultimate lap, undoing things like pit stops that may have occurred in that time. You then start, with new tyres, with all gaps closed for each train on the same lap.

As pointed out, we wrote a nice guide to how it operates back when it was introduced.

@Famine @tonidavid5
Many thanks for your explanations 👍😊
I read your top guide and it's clear/ok for the system of restarting 🫡
I know it's not a proper save system, I use this term for "popularize" this action !
I continue the race and I'm safe, the tank is on 3/4 😁

I post a recap when I will finish this race !
And sorry if I am a pain 😅

Can the mid-race save trick still work if you unplug the PS5 and plug it in again? I'm planning on moving this month and I haven't started Nurburgring yet cause I'm worried it won't work.

You can unplug it and even pack it. As long as you take into consideration how it works.

It's mentioned in the article I linked and was again detailed by the author itself a couple of post before... In Famine's own stealth purple writing no less 😆
