What do you expect the Power Pack DLC will cost?

I know it's already been mentioned, but just how do they expect us to complete the 24h race(s) without B-Spec?

I'm still crossing my fingers that B-Spec will be arriving with Sophy 3.0 (because the number jump from 2.1 to 3.0 implies--to me anyways--a big change ala Sophy learning to drive our custom cars) and they're just keeping their cards close to build up more excitement. Still, I wouldn't put it past PD to just say, "use the suspend feature lol," because that emphasizes a key PS5 feature (and, of course, being SONY and all).

There was a 24 hours of Le Mans game. You played it in chunks, but you had to race for 24 hours.

That's how you do it. An hour a day for 24 days.

It has been said that you will get a "Sophy Agent" and we have seen video of the "B-Spec" option in the pause menu. I for one used to like leaving B-spec to race and checking the TV while I did stuff around the house.

BTW, I saw some images in a Facebook group that shows the new cars have optional parts that (I assume) you can change in GT Auto.

Lewis Hamilton DLC never went on sale.
That's what I was thinking as I took the "I'll wait for a sale" approach with it and never bought it, thanks for confirming it.

I am going to get the DLC at some point and if it is likely to remain the same price forever then it might as well be sooner rather than later.

I think the bottom shot is from a Gr.3 specific race (notice the BMW M6 on the left) and so we're just looking at the back of the regular Mustang Gr.3.
Yet the wing is VERY different from the Gr.3 despite car sharing the diffuser. As far as I'm aware, you definately can't change the wing on the GR.3 car.

That was how I did it at the time when I got it. Got to a point where I used it as a countdown for the real race itself for multiple years before GT5 came out.

Yeah. I think we're going to have these questions until someone actually gets there

I can't imagine they'll want you to suspend your game repeatedly until you've played a single game through a full, day-long chunk...

Okay about the D-Tuned Levin. That interior looks black. It’s either red or blue, but from all the photos, it appears black. The blue can be seen even with shade and shadow, but I’m seeing black dash and interior. May be minor to many, but I’d like a “normal” black or grey interior.

but, it doesn’t say you cant pause & resume later..

I’m assuming we’ll be able to pause the race and let the console power down. When restarting the race will be resumed from where it was paused.

This is how it works now for shorter races. Usually has an effect on wheel responsiveness making it more “floaty”. We don’t have long to wait before finding out.

Hello, everyone my first comment. This is a pretty good deal if they give us 5,000,000 credits when we buy the DLC. One question I have is that I read there is a free update that adds more content. What does it contain?

The DLC contains a few more cars + more racing features such as endurance races etc. There's much more to be honest. But this only is available for PS5 users.

Spec III is a free update, for both PS4 and PS5, with two new tracks and eight new cars, along with some other features and changes:

The Power Pack is a paid DLC for PS5 only that brings new races, leveraging a new version of the Sophy AI, featuring a "race weekend" setup with practice, qualifying, and the race:

Well thanks for the quick reply, mate. I have a PS5 so that is great to know but is there any info on what the supposed free December update contains or did I read that wrong?

The preloaded update that weighed in at 16GB, I assume contains both?

There is one thing I would love to see added to GT7 and that is allows us to sell our cars especially if we've been gifted duplicates.

Most likely - and buying it simply unlocks it.

This was added more than three years ago.

You need to complete GT Cafe Menu Book 39 in order to access the feature.

Check the 1st page of this thread Mate. All Your queries will be answered.

It’s all in the gtplanet news article. Scroll down to Table of contents.

We’ll find out more when the Update goes live and we see the “Update Notice” that shows if there are engine swaps and other improvements and adjustments.

My longshot guess would be, as you suggest, that they'll be using Sophy 3.0 as the other drivers in our team. So we put in a 3 hour stint, pit, and Sophy Driver A takes over for 3 hours, then Sophy Driver B, then back to us, etc.

That would be my best-case scenario for the endurance racing in this, because just doing 24 hours by ourselves over a few days doesn't really have the same level of grit and tension. Plus to me, passing the baton off to teammates is a big part of the endurance magic.

Buuuuut I'm not going to be surprised if it's just "use the suspend feature".

Sorry in advance if this had been posted already. I can't keep up with the thread.

Someone on Reddit said their outlook on fixed cars is to see it like they're joining a team.

I like that, and while I would prefer free car choice, if they really want to curate a racing experience, I can see why they'd do this. And there is some choice at least with what car you can choose.

This is exactly my line of thinking. I'm hoping that if this goes well, GT8 will have a team management feature. A fully fleshed out B-Spec as I remember it (I barely do).

Will definitely make a 700PP version of the Supra and GTR Hakosuka along with the 911 if it can be lowered.

The mustang and AE86 also look cool; can definitely see Nascar liveries being made for the Mustang if the spoiler can be removed.

Why not re-affirm the need for GT8? We've been playing GT7 for more than 3.5 years and GT8 has not even been announced...
PD wouldn't drop such a significant update if GT8 was imminent. Expect to be playing GT7 Spec 3 for another 2 years minimum.

If that is the case, then they are tipping the scales to the result they have already gone down from the start of GT7. If you want to see how much people want, and would use, better offline aspects of the game design, put that aspect of the game out for free and see how many use it. They have now made GT games connected games (which should not be needed for those that play mainly offline :banghead: ) and a side effect of that is that the can gather data about what everyone does in the game, if they wish to get that data, and you would assume they are collecting a lot of data.

After seeing how GT Sport was kneecapped without an online connection, and how much user generated content disappears once they remove support, and users remove their content, decals, designs etc, has made me less inclined to play and create too much in GT7, and added to that the poor offline aspect has made me play less GT7 than GT Sport, and in no way that should have been the case.

This DLC was aimed to some degree for players like me, offline players, but no way would I pay for content that I believe should have been part of the initial game, and no way £25! Like I said, stack the deck for the result you want, no way are 100% of people getting this DLC, so that may skew their results. Stick it in a free update and see how many people use the new features, then you get a more accurate result. Just be aware that a lot of offline players may have already moved on.
Moved on to where exactly? Just a point about free implementation. Sophy 3.0 was never PS4 compatible, so how could it be a free implementation without excluding those users. You mean free for PS5 players? Which would mean you're happy to segregate one group but not the one you're part of?

I must say PDI is very good at pissing people off. 30€ will piss off quite few people and when the sales of this dlc tank they will put the DLC on sale and piss off people who paid the full price. They just can not win anymore. 19,90€ or even 24,90€ would have been acceptable, but no, they decided to try greed instead.
Sony and PD definitely maximized their profit with this DLC.
They knew exactly what they were doing.
They know and they are ok with the fact that not everyone will be buying it... But if most people do, which you all will eventually do, this is the right amount.

Selling it at $20, they would get the same amount of people getting the DLC, but it would be all at once.

Selling it at 40 or anything high would to take much much longer for them to profit.

At 10 they would cut even with the effort they put in to release it.

At 30, it allows them to continue working and fund the future of GT, you can't expect PD to work for free releasing update for 5 years....

This is the perfect medium.

Personally I agree that the content here for us players, is at best worth $20... But I trust in their quality and their future and so I am willing to chip more in, to encourage them with GT8 down the line ...
Seeing the progression system laid out like this, my main thought is I wonder how much Final Fantasy X the devs were playing while they were brainstorming the concept.

Feels like it could have been a lot, this is very Sphere Grid-coded. It even has the branching locks!
The original GT, GT and very apparently GT4 were described back then as the RPG of car games.

This PP DLC is very much in line with what we grew up.... This does not surprise me one bit, in fact the layout very much satisfies my OCD brain...

Exactly agree with you... Anyone else still moaning, you clearly have not absorbed nor accepted PD and Kaz strategy yet... Resistance is futile.

Apparently all pre-selected cars, zero races where you can pick from your garage? Thats a huge bummer for me, my biggest joys in GT is creating something from my garage that I can then keep using for other parts of the game/online.
I couldn't have said it better myself. I was SUPER excited for this DLC until I learned today that the cars are pre-selected. The whole reason I was looking forward to more events and longer races was more opportunities to use the cars in my garage. After 2,000+ hours I have 1,115 cars: one or three of every car in the game, in various states of tune. Most of them with custom liveries. Why PD didn't think we'd care to be able to use them is a mystery to me.

I suspect you will be able to save when doing a pit stop.
In GT5 you could save when pitting. I expect this feature to be available for every new endurance race maybe even as a new general option always available at any pit stop in any race but probably only the former.

In GT5 however saving during a race would completely lock down your game. When starting the game you only had the choice to resume your race or abandon it. No other chance to get back to the main menu. I would be extremely surprised if the new feature would work like this. There will probably be a "resume Power Pack race" button somewhere in there with the rest of the game freely accessible.

I gotta say like I said before. There will be players new to the game that now we see have to level up to Menu Book 9 to access the DLC. They probably will not have delved into the game as much as many people with large collections of cars. Similar to Sport Mode, it’s a level playing field to use PD built cars.
Shame there are no options to use our garage cars(that we haven’t seen), but PD control cars the players use and being even with what SOPHY uses is the medium ground.

Obviously, I have no insider information to any of the content. It just seems it’s the best way for all players to play regarding this particular DLC.

I understand some people's ambivalence due to the price of the power pack. But after so many free updates, especially as their biggest free update yet being released at the same time, since all the way back since GT Sport in 2017, let alone GT7, I think PD have fed me enough free tasty meals for me to acknowledge them with a tip. In the long term this update benefits all GT fans. Sophy AI is obviously a very ambitious and long term project, and the constant updates to the AI and new types of racing challenges will only benefit the next GT title upon it's release. Some of the money spent on the pack hopefully goes towards the next GT titles budget.

For the long term GT player like myself and others who intend on keeping playing GT games for years, the potential benefits could be immeasurable and good for the future of the series.

If the Power Pack icon is hidden behind collector level 9 then how would it work for a completely new player who buys both the base game and the DLC? I would guess that they would be very surprised that their $30 purchase is nowhere to be found.

Originally you couldn't, it was added in Spec 2.0 about a year after the release. I did both 24h races before the update by indeed keeping the game paused for about a week each and hoping there's no power cut or anything.

Not a nice experience and I presume most people who insist on having real time 24h events don't have an idea how repetitive it gets when you've already driven for 12 hours on the same track and still have another 12 to go. To put that into perspective, 48 of the Le Mans WTC700 grind races in a row for example. It's not realistic by any means and would really need either B-Spec or some kind of co-op to do properly.

That's perfectly normal for DLC across all different kinds of games though. And Lvl 9 comes very quickly. I don't think any significant number of players would be bothered.
