Will you purchase Power Pack immediately or maybe wait for Christmas, to be more precise Christmas Eve, as I am planning. Or maybe New Year.

No waiting. Must race. (when I get back from work in 10 hours :nervous: )

Using some of the money I luckily didn’t waste on Rennsport or PMR.

I took this morning off work… but I have to go to my daughter’s stupid Nativity performance!
May I suggest a solution to your troubles?

I'm not buying immediately bcs of purchasing PMR and now I have to wait...

I used to have doubt that cars from the power pack would be actual collectibles for the main games but the patch notes about Swap Engines lead me to think they will come to the main garage :
・Nissan Skyline GT-R GP-Tuned (KPGC10) (only available as rewards in the Power Pack.)
...
・Toyota AE86 Levin D-Tuned (only available as rewards in the Power Pack.)

Power Pack is up on the PS Store.
Interestingly they also added a new 5 mil credit pack as well. I guess for those who already have the Power Pack but still want to buy additional credits. I always wonder who that could be. But then if money isn't an issue, you hardly ever play but want to drive that sweet 20 mil legendary cars anyways then there is probably a market for it.

@F4H Super GT around half an hour ago by accident :lol::lol:

Yeah, but peeps' choosing OP setups would ruin the competitiveness of the races 'though wouldn't it?
All cars and upgrades have a finite number in terms of possible specs. Finite value of grip, acceleration, speed, etc. Yes, there are millions of possible configurations, but AI tools can analyse all that data and propose sensible race restrictions to minimize (or eliminate) the possibility of players' cars being OP.

In early GT games we had a considerable freedom to choose many cars for a specific event and this "freedom" approach would break some events for sure, but now we actually have very good tools to get the best of both worlds.

Sneaky from PD (or Sony? ) putting the "only" 5mill credits pack on the main screen!!!

I agree with you mate but I took possible shenanigans into account, such as so-called "glitches".

The AI projections would not include them of course; that'd be "impossible".

Anywho, I'm not-fussed. I can live with it being curated. I also understand your "concerns" - freedom was curtailed.

Given this, I don't see the harm in adding a 4th option to bring your own cars to the races. Make it as such that you don't get a bonus in doing so, and then make the bonuses in using the default cars higher by 10/15/20% depending on the car chosen.

Ya know, that's not a bad idea mate.

Not impossible that the option could be added to a future update IMHO.

Not ideal (I would still focus on optimizing the event structure rather than penalizing the player) but an acceptable compromise

Looking forward to your feedbacks on Sophy 3.0 and the new power pack events (are race really more enjoyable ?), they might push me to jump from ps4 to ps5 (well, that, + the PSVR2 option, + Flight Simulator 2024 release :)). Thanks guys !

I must say PDI is very good at pissing people off. 30€ will piss off quite few people and when the sales of this dlc tank they will put the DLC on sale and piss off people who paid the full price. They just can not win anymore. 19,90€ or even 24,90€ would have been acceptable, but no, they decided to try greed instead.
Really ? We just witnessed the atrocious launches of 2 long awaited sim racing games in Rennsports and PMR, and you really think the GT7 dlc price is going to piss people ?

The description on the German store states this: "Die "Power Pack"-Erweiterung1 für Gran Turismo 7"... (The Power Pack-Expansion1) :odd:

Price is not the issue here.

My main point for buying PP DLC is to send a clear message to PD that we want this type of SP campaign for GT8.

Other than my gripe with pre-defined obligatory car for each event, this type of events should be the cornerstone of SP campaign for GT8.

Everyone? No. Some people? Yep, absolutely. Not that Rennsport being a mess and a title from Ian Bell having launch issues should have come as a surprise to anyone who follows sim racing.

too late

Sophy here isn't very fast, the field spread is massive and the races are short.
So far this seems like it isn't going to be close racing the experience people (or I) want it to be.

"The races are short" or "this race was short"? Surely a 24 hour race cannot be classed as short?

And were they that spread and slow in the race itself? You've just posted a screenshot of qualifying...

Genuinely curious as I'm on the fence as to whether to purchase or not

Can anyone pls check out "Nordschleife Tourist" event and tell us what exactly it is? Thank you!

Can someone who has the DLC please try the same race twice and confirm if there is any prize for completing the race the second time (e.g. credits instead of the prize car) or are these like the existing missions - I.e. one and done? Thanks.

I can't say what the end-pack race lengths will be like as you can only see what you have unlocked. The starter ones all all that short and based on where the later ones we know are (Gr.C Daytona & Gr.3 Daytona) they probably peak at about 20 minutes.

I feel like it's going to be "short" races (5-7 mins like Daily B) - "long" races (15-20 like Daily C), and then probably some bonus endurances chucked in at the end. But we'll see more in time.

Race is the same. I biffed the chicane on the last lap so add probably 1.5-2s (ish) to the delta. I was about a second per lap faster overall.

Any scope for adjusting suspension/gearbox ratios/etc in these stock cars?
