It’s like Hot Wheels or Scalextric. You can buy the pack for whatever. Good thing it’s not one and done. The challenge is mainly use the slower car for close racing. Collect the cars you like from the DLC and use them in World Circuit.

I’ll be straight up and say initially, I haven’t been through much of the tiers, it’s not worth it for those looking for a hardcore reason to purchase this DLC. It’s another PD can’t stick the landing when they’ve got all the parts to make it a ten.
No doubt, for me, I paid $45 for cars. No different than me buying scale models to just look at. At least I can use the cars at any time. Tune them and purchase them multiple times. Plus, go back and farm credits a different way with the DLC(I don’t mind the Practice and Qualifying).

I will say this should be in the World Circuit. However, it’s funny how this gives players a taste of the World Tour events, but players have to buy in to play at home.

Anyway, I think I’ll grab the Mustang next and make a Trans-Am series with it.

Waiting to see how they've handled 24h races, especially if you can save progress in Pits and if they feature Variable wheater or not like on regular Custom Races with Sophy 2.0

Is it true that power pack races does not feature tyre wear/fuel consumption?

The Supra costs $3,000,000 and has a unique sound that's very good. I only have mine tuned for 700PP but I imagine it could easily be tuned for Gr.3 events.

No it's not true.
I'm watching Mario Soler do one of the later GrC races and it has fuel/tyre wear. Also, he's not winning so there is a definite difficulty spike.

I read from Mario Soler YT Channel, that there are no 24-hour races. But there are only 46 races, this is true or false?

Given that there's a counter that says x/50 it could be that the last 4 are hidden for now and have to be unlocked.

On race start VR head position was bad (as often) and with my nose against the center of the wheel (not to this point but far too low and too much forward) I tried to do a trick with the pass-through button but failed to nail the correction, tried another time, not much better, and not sure why, by the time I came back on the track the race had started and I was last on the grid, with gearbox in rear (thanks cancel button = gear down...)
I’m glad I held off on VR, by the sounds of it, mine would be smashed to pieces laying on the floor beside the wall and I’m not a violent guy haha
Put the DLC on a wishlist and consider buying it on sale. We need to send a clear message to PD that we want these types of races to be the backbone of GT8 career structure. I agree with you about the pre-selected cars BS (I have elaborated on that in my previous posts here).
I shouldn’t have to buy something I have no interest in to send a clear message to PD of what we want in GT8. I don’t think this is anything like I’d want. There’s also lots of content on here such as wishlists they can look through. I think they’ve missed the mark personally but enjoy.

That doesn’t sound like Sophy 3.0 is all it wasn’t made out to be. Which we still don’t know the answer to that? What is different between Sophy 2 and Sophy 3. No more emojis?

I'm still not sure if they meant real-time 24 hour races or simulated (accelerated day/night cycle). Haven't seen anybody doing all the races yet so wait & see.

Paid $45 AUD. Is worth it hard to say. But so far I have enjoyed doing the Civic and AE86s races already. Keen to win the AE86 D-Tuned and do some liveries and mods to it.

Maybe already mentioned, but did anyone notice how it is stated Power Pack 1 in the description when you go to the PS Store? Won't jump to conclusions, but maybe there is more paid DLC on the way in the future to hold us over until GT8.

Yeah, I was thinking the same. The name itself suggest like it could be open for more expansions.

It has its quircks, some you can go around, some you have to live with (and hope for improvements) BUT I'll never go back to flat. It is a game changer, in terms of immersion and more importantly, to me, in terms of perception of the track, the position of the car, the speed, the cornering and so on. The difference is close to driving your car in real life versus driving your car via remote and getting the image from a fixed camera on the roof or hood, on your TV.

Yeah, I was thinking the same. The name itself suggest like it could be open for more expansions.
I hope they don't plan to add another ship lol

Does the Power Pack need to be purchased separately for each account where you want to use it, or is it available to all the accounts on a console where it has been purchased?

Given that the licences always allow you to access any content installed on any account on any console set as your primary console, the former. If it's set as the licence-holder's primary console.

My brother and sister got it and I’m the only one who purchased it.

I don't believe Sophy is implemented in the power pack races. There's nothing for me to suggest it is.

The info online all has references of Sophy 3 in seperate sentences, meaning it was maybe never meant to be included in the powerpack races themselves?

There's defo a huge difference between the AI in world circuit races vs Powerpack races

I can't possibly disagree more. I am VERY pleased with the DLC.

First, for context and for the benefit of those who don't have the DLC, the AI pretty much sticks to it's own lap pace. The cars at the front of the field pace faster than those at the back. This is important to keep in mind.

I went through all the tiers of first Hakosuka. Yes, the initial (easy/no peppers) is, indeed, easy and if you leave it at that, there is disappointment to be had. It doesn't feel different from the regular AI because it's easy to get to pole position and it's easy to finish first. You never fight for anything. The upside is that you can blast through it to get the cool cars and prizes if you wish.

Move up to hard and it's a different story. You have to be on your game.

FIRST ATTEMPT - The first time I did the hard level, I started myself last (given how easy played out). From 16th I managed to get myself to 10th in the three laps. I thought to myself "ok, this is going to require effort".

SECOND ATTEMPT - I started second ( I thought that was good enough). Muffed the start, fell back to third, and watched the two lead cars pull away. I managed to close the gap somewhat on lap three but I still finished 3RD about 2 seconds back.

THIRD ATTEMPT - Ok, now I knew what I was dealing with. You have to approach this not as "single player", but as you would Sport Mode. You want to get yourself to the front of the field and you have to focus on your line, of they will eat you up. I started on Pole and I knew that the field will pull away at the start (I believe it's built this way). Anyway, my first move was to Schumacher the 2nd place car and slice across his nose to force him to drop back. I was passed for 1st into T1, but we were 2 wide into T2 with me ahead so I ran him to the edge of the track, allowing the following car by. Now, with the two fastest cars stuck in traffic, I bolted. I started to lay down fast laps. On lap 3, the other front row starter got to second place and started to close me down. I pushed a little too hard and lost some time, while it did a Q lap. I finished 0.6 in the lead.

If this is what GT8 will be like, I am already excited. Now, it will likely be somewhat different, but still a very good sign. I understand now why they didn't include the handicap bonus in the regular single player, because it's in the DLC. I hope it carries over to GT8 where the cars lap and drive at a reasonable pace and you can buff or handicap yourself, and get rewarded for the handicap.

"it’s not worth it for those looking for a hardcore reason to purchase this DLC"

No offense but I will never, EVER, understand how, after nearly 30 years of Gran Turismo, people still complain about it vs "hardcore". As someone who has been at track days in real life, who has been hospitalized for such antics, and who has loved cars, motorcycles, and motorsport for my entire life, I will be the first to say that I HATE "hardcore" sims. Now, others love them, that's great for them, but WHY OH WHY keep asking to bring that experience here? When it has been a winning formula for 30 years? This is close enough thank you.

(don't even get me started on how some of these "hardcore" games are more difficult to control than real life, to appease those who think that hard=real)

As a "hardcore" Sport Mode player, this DLC is on par with that experience. Is it like being in World Tour events where everyone is an alien? No, and THANK GOD it isn't. Is it on par with a typical Race A without the grief? Yes, absolutely. My experience today is EXACTLY how a Race A experience goes.

If I start last, I finish midpack
If I start on the front row, I can be pretty confident of a podium
If I start on pole, I can be confident that I will win

And NONE of that is guaranteed. And, important note, there is no "restart". You screw up, you have to start over from scratch. Keep that in mind when you are 22 hours into a 24 hour event.

IMHO, I HIGHLY recommend this DLC for everyone. For single player fans, it's a great challenge. For Sport Mode fans, it's great training. All for the price of a pizza and drinks.

You can just make another account for cheaper prices.

AI Agent 'Gran Turismo Sophy' 3.0 is also used exclusively throughout all of the races for more realistic tail-to-nose racing action

My biggest question is rubber banding. Do we have anything definitive about whether PP races have some form of rubber banding or not? Will probably buy it anyway but I sincerely hope it is more "pure".

This is a genuine question, just to understand your previous experience with Sophy.

Did you ever setup a custom race with Sophy, following the guidelines on how to extract the best out of Sophy (setting a rabbit, weak boost, etc)?

Half the Custom Races thread is Voodoovaj talking about Sophy.
You're right. Didn't even bother to look at who was I replying too.

I'm dumb, move along please.

Also, Sophy at Fuji is new. So let us used it PD.

I managed to pull away in 2 races, the ai pulled away from me in 1 race.

My impression is no rubberbanding.
