Hopefully, when the Avantime gets an engine swap PD will start adding Hypervan Parade events.

Or, perhaps we’ll get a Euro-centric version of the Civic one-make events with traffic, with the Avantime, Kandi and BX providing the traffic around St Croix

How long has it been since they released a new track? I've been buying PlayStation 2 just for GT. I recently bought a PS5 and haven't had the urge to buy GT7. I'm still playing on PS4, but I don't think it's worth it. The only saving grace is the weekly races. Otherwise, there are almost no new cars. The coolest cars from previous versions, like the Calibra, Renault Space F1, Lotus, Sprit, Elise, Cadillacs—many others that have never been released. And the cool cars they do release, you rarely have a place to race. They can justify it by saying it's a game about the driving experience, but even so, to have that experience, you need good cars. I don't have one and don't intend to; it's a different style of game, but Forza, in terms of cars, has GT in the rearview mirror.

One year, one month:

That came one year and five months after the previous road course:

Though we did get the Lake Louise snow rally track in the middle of that period too.

Please explain to me why in the real world would you NEED to jump a 2-3 meter gap?
Tell me you live somewhere that the roads aren't cratered like the surface of Callisto without actually tellling me.

This is, incidentally, the same model that I referenced earlier when noting the fact that there's now a real, production car with 3,000hp.

A couple Vettes and... an Avantime?! Nice! I'd prefer any generation Odyssey instead, but that's just my bias. More vans!

Don't care about brands for one, but I also generally hate everything the car stands for. It's a car, we shouldn't be turning them into entire entertainment centers with giant screens for watching movies on instead of dashboards. Who in the world decided it needed features such as live sports scoring? ON THE HEADLIGHT BAR?!

The whole thing is a mess, where seemingly someone in the design process was never told "no". Every dumb feature they could cram onto it, they had to.

Because how am I supposed to drive if my taillights can't advertise a movie to the person behind me?

Overall, I find this thing to be a disgusting hazard to everyone on the road. If I saw someone driving one I'd have to assume they're watching Family Guy Funny Moments instead of the road. It shouldn't be street legal. The touch screen control trend should've died after the first time a manufacturer tried selling one.

I hope you don't overstay your parking permit, by the way. The car will snitch on you.

HAHAHA wow I thought this was a car, not a smartphone on wheels.

Anyway the Avantime is sure to be fun because of the novelty factor. It's something only a French brand could create.

Counter argument: You're just not Afeelaing it 😎

Seriously though, just how did they convince themselves that the final product was better than the initial concept back in 2022??

It's not the prettiest looking EV there is, but it sure as hell has a design to it!

It even had a color that wasn't in the fifty shades of grey the final product has!

Curious to see more people happu than angry with the Avantime across social media, considering the reaction to previous Vans/SUV additions😅
Part of it is that the Avantime is just objectively way more interesting of a car than the recent CUV influx; some of it will also be nostalgia in the "I don't want VGTs but I want the Nike One back" vein.

In a perfect world the CX.R would be GR.3. Oh well..

I have a feeling they are overly protective on the BoP of Gr.3/4 and thus are scared of adding any meaningfull race cars.

Yeah, I understand that but my latent point was more that these 1 gazillion plus ev cars are so far from reality and that reality is that the shopping car; cars that are too close to reality that everyone just wants an AMG, M, RS and they are all crazy horse power.

BYD has a super car that can jump 2-3 meter gaps….as much as I marvel at the tech I sigh that would be a feature you’d need in a modern world.

We live in the world of unaffordable, unobtainable cars, here is a 2008, to fill the gap 🤣
Here in Thailand, we have the real "super grocery getter" cars like BYD Sealion 7 AWD Performance, Zeekr 7X Performance, MG IM6, Xpeng G6 AWD Performance all offered 480-770 HP on tap it and they're pretty affordable here as well compared to the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry in the same price range.
A year or two ago it was the BYD Seal AWD Performance that humiliated BMW M340i on the unprepped old runway drag strip.
China is leading the way of innovation and often outside of the usual automotive thinking.
The normal Xiaomi SU7 Max with "only" 670 HP is only around CNY 299900 or around 41000 USD in China and the 1500 HP Ultra model is around 73000 USD.
I'm just glad that PD finally opened up for Chinese brand to come in and share some spotlight, I just hope that it isn't just only Xiaomi as there are too many brands over there waiting them with open arms with cars ready to feature in the game.
Chinese brands felt the need to prove itself to the world and impress, so I don't blame them showcasing cool stuff it's their way of redefining of what's modern supercar is, it is after all we're in the brave new world unfamiliar to most of the rest of the world so used to the German and Italian high end landscape dominated by super cars and rules written by them for decades.

is it GT7 still the same?

Looks like that one friend that went to a big city, and come back in holidays 5 years later, but now we don't recognize him anymore, look at him very snoob, vegan, with a electric SUV, doesn't hear friends, and family anymore, only listens to himself, but now he just want vegan cars, and he has Vision's (GT) yeah, that no one cares..

RIP GT7, once a fun game, now it's almost dead, vanilla PD, bunch of vanilla vegan developers nowadays, PD...
Forget my 80€ for the GT8 PD, you vanilla vegans...

I am saying this for 2 Years...!

What you have to do is shake your PS4, PS5 or PS5P. All the updates haven’t been shaken out yet. If that doesn’t work, tap it lightly. If that doesn’t work, turn it on and off eight times. An update will pop up on your screen in about twenty-five days after the first of the month. Then, if that still doesn’t work, leave your PlayStation at rest for a month and try again. GT7 ain’t dead, it’s still got a pulse.

All those stability updates are hiding GT7 updates!

Yeah…I don’t understand why many people here and many YouTubers are claiming the CX.R is going to be a Gr.1 machine.
It has a combined 2000hp and can potentially lap the Nordschleife in less than 5 minutes (according to leaked info from the reveal event). No current Gr.1 machine has those capabilities.
So unless there was a leak saying it’s Gr.1, it’s most likely going to be a 950-1000PP monster.
They are so much in a hurry to be first to post videos that they overlook reading infos, wrong news then spread everywhere.
You just need one guy to miss the point and there you go.

The only explanation I could come up with is that they might have thought the original design looked too similar to a Tesla and they wanted something more distinctive. I think the final version of the Afeela has that typical soulless, modern corporate look of a car that was designed entirely with the help of a computer instead of the traditional way (i.e. sketches drawn by a designer).

Automotive designer Frank Stephenson actually has an interesting video on his Youtube channel where he explains this phenomenon by using the example of modern BMWs.
