Xkubunt, you need to stop thinking about what you perceive your best time will be.

It's all about setting myself a target last time my target was to break 2:14 and I did it after a few laps. In all honesty I'm happy as long as I feel I've done my best, my number one opponent is myself.

Plus after watching back my laps I can see where I've lost a load of time through early breaking and not being smooth enough.

Guys I've been thinking about this qualifying. Ten minutes on Silverstone is going to equal less than 5 laps (2.1x5=10.5), and one of those is going to be an out lap, meaning we get at most 3 laps.

3 laps isn't exactly a lot of laps to determine your future in this series. There's a good chance that some of us will need up invalidating at least one of our laps, and with a couple of mistakes on the other laps, there's every chance that someone who genuinely very quick has only managed to post a mediocre time. There might even be a few people who don't post a time at all.

I'm thinking that we should increase the time to something like 20 or even 30 minutes, to give everyone enough time to get in the best lap they're capable of.

That's an interesting subject.

That 10 min limits effectly the push you put on the car. You don't try foolish things. You want at least one clean lap and after that you can take risks.

I think 15 would be a bit of both.

I think everyone will have the setup ready before 31 so that's a lot of time.

I am asking myself if I should just go at it easy and even post a slower lap time but more representative of my average time in a 1 hour race.

I am in a different galaxy of the sort of scott or zachspeed and it would be very bad if someone got in the top tier without having the experience and skills to follow the group.

Afterall that session will decide our racing tier for a whole year basically.

Oh really? I remembered the 10, but as you can only select a time limit and not lap limit in qualifying, I must have got them confused.

Like you guys say, we really don't want people to end up in the wrong tier because they didn't have enough time to post a time representative of their skill.

Speaking of qualifying, how exactly do we think this is going to play out a far as recording times? I would suggest running it in practice mode and a steward timing it so no one goes over their allowed time limit.

We could run it as a 30 min practice and we all take screenshots of the results page at the end or from the pause menu. That way there's no risk of times not being recorded and additionally no risk of people using more than 30 minutes.

Also I think we need to run some test lobbies to check the net connection between us Europeans and the US guys, make sure there isn't any noticeable lag with 10+ players online.

Anyone got any wheel recommendations btw? I can't justify getting a T300 so I guess it's down to the T100 and the T80 and I've heard that you're better off with the DS4 then with the T80. I had a DFGT before so of the T100 is anything like that then I'll be happy.

im in the US and have been playing thew UK version obviously, but i havent had any probs with net connection, being a host. each tier should have a specified host each time, will definitely nominate to be a host since ive had so much time on it already with zero problems.

as far as times and results, can easily screenshot the ending result then update the spreadsheet accordingly.

As long as the hosts have a decent net connection it shouldn't be an issue but it's best to make sure.

The only thing you can do with the USA copy is play that 1 race over & over until it's officially released on psn store updates around 3-4:30pm est.
