Which is why other PS3 games have better sound?

Doesn't make sense to me either. Sure, NFS-S is overdone. But, hearing my '71 Challenger roar through the turns at Road America is by far a more thrilling experience than burning around Eiger in my Hoover powered Integra - no matter how great the scenery.

I think kaz is waiting for release for the sound

Why would he do that? Think from a business standpoint. Sounds in GT titles are poor, why would you not announce an improvement? It's like selling the new Mustang GT and letting people believe it still has the 4.6L V8 with 315hp.

Don't know if you ever saw that... just simply A.M.A.Z.I.N.G (sound and skills of the driver Ken Block) man, the sound of this little ford is crazy!

maybe for GT7? the impossible Ken Bloch Challenge with the Supra realistic sound!???

Anti-lag sounds amazing.

I believe in the TGS breakout session, Kaz has already announced that for the sounds.

It all has to do with being different game engines...there might be more power/memory allocated to the graphics and physics than say the audio engine...I don't think anyone can make a blanket comment and say "PS3 can't handle it" nor "other games did this..."

The PS3 has a limit and I'm sure PD is doing there best to create the balance they want between how much processing power they want to dedicate to engine sounds...

That said I do hope they improve the sounds :)

I definately would'nt accept the problem is the PS3,
We know PD have developed a great sound engine, its their engine sounds that need improving,
The game runs with the sound engine and poor samples, so one would figure it could run just aswell with its current sound engine and some improved samples,
Perhaps thats over simplified, but as has been said, if the PS3 can handle the graphics and physics then I can't see why it can't handle the sound either.

I'm cautious about it, but I still do hope for something better. KY is usually really careful and doesn't speak more than he needs to(often less than he needs to;)), but he did say that the sound will receive total overhaul in an interview, so I hope it will...
We've seen stuff appearing even without any notice, like skidmarks/reverse lights/etc, they just showed up in the more recent builds, so maybe the new sound engine/samples is the last thing to present itself as a cherry on the top! I hope so at least...

He said improve, not make them awesome and the best ever. And they haved improved them from GT4.

I dunno, I would say every one of the sounds in GT5:P sound better than the ones in GT4

If you mean Standard cars, then you have a point :)
But those might have been improved as well, as they probably figure they have to remodel those cars in the future anyway and will reuse the same sounds, or they already have the raw samples from previous work, and finally have the resources to make them sound better due to better hardware

I love the sound of the straight 6 RB26 from the Mines BNR34 in GT5P.

I hope that the straight 6 2JZGTE from the JZA80 Supra sounds like this. Oh and that it is a premium model.

Has the same idle tone of the real thing
Really hope they add that cavernous reverb down the main straight of Fuji and other tracks

I can't imagine how it would sound in a tunnel with a 5.1/7.1 system.

Gimme the Maserati GranTurismo S :drool::drool:

0:42 is even better!!!

You guys sure this is 458 ? That's totally different engine sound than the previous build. BTW I hope I'll be able to hear this wind sound(Intake?) with the car's engine sound .. makes a good rev limit sound just like this one in the video. OMG!!!
