Is this event punters heaven or is this event punters heaven? I got punted a million times the first 2 laps. Also got penalty two times because of a ****ing n00b in front of me wich was all over the place but still didn't get ghostified!

I tried the GTLM and didn't think it was particularly easy to drive... well, not compared to the Viper and Elise... might dig my gt06 out for a spin tonight (and I use the word SPIN deliberately).

If you're used to the GT06, nsx or any of the ferraris you'll find it's ridiculously easy to control. I basically get about +10mph round every corner and much quicker acceleration, tho it tops out a bit short of my stock GT.

If, however, you're used to a viper or vette then you'll have to learn to drive all over again. Try to imagine the steering wheel is just there for decoration - use the pedals to get you round the corners :sly:

I'm finding this now. Except my pedals aren't magic turning devices like yours and my steering wheel seems to be set to 'straight' or 'spin', haha.

Lift-off oversteer is your friend. Keep plenty revs on going into a corner and as soon as you get to the apex just ease your go-fast foot up and let the car do the rest. Yes you need the steering wheel turned a bit but not much.

*nods* thanks pent, seems to work. I get frustrated too easily testing new cars in arcade mode though, so I never really test them long enough to be any good.

The GTlm and it's little brother, the '06 are best enjoyed in online freerun with a bit of setup. Toe out at the front and in at the back to make it a bit less twitchy. Soft front springs and harder rear. Oh and go for long gears to make the most of that outrageous powerband 👍

Parked up too much lag on my side and to GTP_Dustdriver sorry about bump on first lap wasnt concentrating :nervous:

Hi All!

We save very good competitions in the evening yesterday, thanks for everyone, I feel myself great!

Cheers
ton

I really enjoyed racing you yesterday Ton! You keep getting faster and faster in that little Elise. Maybe I'll catch you today for a few races..👍

this is a bad time to play online, if it's not the lag then it's the school kids from Japan who punt you or the school kids from Europe.

I think i punted a GTP driver into turn 1 about an hour ago. I don't no who it was exactly but i apologise and your right uk86ez. there are alot of dodgy drivers on at the minute.

I'll be adding another 1 to that number at xx:02

Be afraid :scared:

sorry for the 45 race, i got a telefoncall in lap 2 and lost my concentration a little bit. :D

Whoops, trying new settings but didn't work out as I expected! It was all singing and dancing in the practice lap but felt horrible in the online race. Sorry if I caused some really slow driving, I was virtually tip toeing my way round that race.

Sorry for the sudden braking Rudi_Raser at the xx:17, I saw Grim_Reaper was struggling to get traction at the hairpin so I slowed down to avoid hitting him which led to you to shunt me from behind. Sorry about that!

Was it the one that I was in? :) ...I was just about to say sorry for that too brave overtake there.. so, sorry! :(

:)

3 punts in 1 race. one by a guy i stopped for in an earlier race for a much smaller tap, but no recip on an intentional block/hit. time to go play GTA.

yes Timo, this one. :D

PatchySan, the Evo 9 is in this online event a bit fasten than the Evo 10, believe me, ;) but hotlap times are nearly the same.

nice battle TimeAttack

You too my friend! Sorry for any bumping that may have occured in that one race...your car was glitching quite a bit. Good racing 👍

RPM: I sent you my Viper tune

Here's what I love: you follow a driver around for a while, very carefully avoiding bumping into him even when he drives & brakes erratically. You wait & eventually pass him cleanly, then you come to the first corner & he punts you & drives off. He obviously has absolutely no appreciation for the amount of effort you've put into not rear-ending him. :irked:

and when your driving behind street cars through the esses and have to hang back, but the guy behing you cant be bothered and pushes yu out the way...

This is a very succinct summary of the online racing experience. :indiff:

Place on Suzuka that are NOT places to overtake, generally.
- The esses

I strongly disagree with this, its a very very useful spot to overtake if you're in say a Viper/Tuned Vs say a GTR or other lower grip, higher powered car. A simple squirt of power on the final right hander before Dunlop when exiting (as if it was leading onto a straight) then you can be alongside BEFORE the next corner, which is key, you then have every right to hold your line. If they don't give in, then they're putting themself in danger, they should either give you the entry, or run a wide line. This is the kind of move p3nt refers to, for example, a high downforce, lower powered car, has to make this kind of move on the heavier, slower cornering but extreme powered machines. Otherwise the heavier more powerful machine is going to win, simple as. P3nt himself has witnessed me using this exact tactic on him during the esses when he was using a GT '06 V my Viper/Tuned.

On another note, glad to see a few people using my set up (or tweaked versions of it).

Agreed with dragonistic, that final corner prior to Dunlop is a major opportunity as a lot of people swing quite wide there and if you can maintain speed while hugging the curb... you're golden.

Yep ... story of my life when online :p 👍 gratitude is very scarce nowadays :sly:

You mean the Anti-Banked turn #03?

And do you also mean overtaking on the outside of that turn?
