New Release Date Discussion

I think it's safe to say the game is finished now. SCEJ is still sticking to the confirmed Japanese release on Dec 28th, which is only ten days away. Which means the game has to be in manufacturing right now. Which means they can't still be working on it.

There is no confirmed American release date.

My guess is that they wait and see how the manufacturing goes for the first batch
due Dec. 28 and they will confirm a date shortly after for North America.

The last update on that website was on september 21st, so I wouldn't bet too much on the information you'll find there. You can go to the shops in 6 days and wait for GT4, we'll see you there in a few months. :sly:

Yes, it was SUPPOSED to be released Nov. 16 of 2003 and then again on Nov. 2004, then Dec. 04, and now it's probably going to Nov. 05!

nope, sorry. The discs are region-coded to work only where they're intended to work. That's part of the (sick) fun, I guess.

You only can if you have a modded PS2.

I've pre-ordered the Japanese GT4 from http://www.lik-sang.com/
...but take note that you will pay dearly to get it quickly. It's costing me $90, including (the fastest) shipping. Oh well, that's the price you pay for impatience... :lol:

I don't know what the new U.S. release date is supposed to be....I've heard early February...but i just got back from my local blockbuster, and there release date was set at January 15....but who knows...PD hasn't set it official yet.

Thanks for the info, but unfortunately, the general consensus is that retail game stores (all of em) are just as in the dark as we are. That's only because polyphony digital and sony haven't officially given an american release date. So gamestop and the others are just guessing right now based on the "first quarter of 2005" info given by sony and PD. See ya round!

It would only benefit Sony to announce a launch date once it's concrete. And then you'll have trouble keeping everyone from yelling at the ^ of their lungs, requiring a change of underpants from the anxiety, and counting down the hours until they get to go camp in front of the game store...in a blizzard.

SCEA is probably just waiting until the Japanese date has come and gone, just to make absolutely sure that version is in stores. I figure we'll hear an official U.S. release announcement shortly after the Japanese release.

I've heard 25th feb. in the UK, and according to gamespot the US version is out 31 Mar. and I've been wait for the bloomin' game since Jan :grumpy:

. this year but it'll be worth the wait.

Like people have said before there is no point speculating because the release date until confrimed by Sony/PD is just that - Speculation.

However according to my understandng the US version comes out before the UK and PAL release (correct me if im wrong) so the above is probably inacurate.

I just saw on the Belgian site that the Belgian (pal) version of GT4 is "currently" listed for release on Feb 5 .
I hope that they stick to that date , because it is only a few DAYS away from my birthday .
I'd say this calls for a serious wOOOt !!! 👍

That's one hell of a birthday present. Just an idea, but....
instead of having a regular birthday party, you can have a GT4 release party!
The release is gonna be so freakin' huge in the u.s. that parties will be thrown and guns will be shot into the sky, just like new years day! :lol:

My birthday is February 7th.

. Oh well. It's been years since GT4 was released when I wanted it to be, so it's rather improbable that THAT will happen :lol:

Somehow I think that French gaming site is pulling your leg. However, those release dates seem potentially close to the truth.
