Although I'm excited for the newly revealed cars, I think I'll hold on to pre-ordering GT6 until I have more info on the car packs presented such as; what the special edition cars even look like.

Think we'll get to see then ahead of time? Were screenshots of chromeline and stealth released before hand?

Agreed in full. Although I actually think that the new paint chips could be shorthand for saveable files a la full wraps. Hence exclusive liveries.

You think the term paint chips which was used in Gt5 to signify paint chips is now shorthand code for custom livery wraps?:odd: I would venture to guess it means the same thing as it did before.

It's the second coming of the "Standards will have interiors" movement from 2010, when people got very creative interpreting the words on the official site.

💡

I raised my hand to pre-order. only thing is, those that haven't pre-ordered before, prepare yourself as you may not be able to use those cars in certain events. I couldn't use the chromeline Cobra or Gullwing in any vintage car events; couldn't use the stealth Gt500 cars in super gt only events; no aero parts available for the chromeline cars. the cars can not be sold, only deleted by deleting your game data if you want to "clean out" or organise your garage.

Oh, I'll still pre-order. I think none of the above will matter with the focus back to driving enjoyment of a bone stock car.

Yes... but do keep this in mind; wherever the extreme right may be, the extreme left can be found. ;)

Well they already said livery editor is technically possible. Like with A.I, engine sound, time/weather and such, it all boils down to time it seems. What we should hope for is that they have enough time to do everything rather than them implementing things we want at this stage.

- Turn 10 and Forza have a livery editor.
- Eutechnyx, a small company, has a livery editor with NASCAR the Game (in their first NASCAR title)
- iRacing has a simple, yet acceptable livery editor on their website, and I won't even get into TradingPaints. That's a whole different dimension of livery editor.

They've had 7 years to implement a feature I'd like to think is relatively simple for them (and very sought after by the community). How much more time do they need (assuming of course it didn't make it into GT6)?

They're all late to the show. Papyrus had a livery editor for their Nascar Racing game back in 1994. As for Gran Turismo, it'll get there sooner or later...

I recently placed a pre-order but I did not know different shops get different versions. Why it has to be so confusing.

Everyone seems to be saying that the fact the the 15th Anni. Ed. being livaries for cars along with paint chips brings their hopes down for GT5 having a Livary editor of some kind. Odd because as soon as I read it I thought exactly the opposite. It confirmed a sort of Livary Editor for GT6. I immediately thought that it's going to work like Motorstorm. Where you apply livaries to a car, which you can apply in various ways to get different looks. Then we go in and adjust the various colors of the livary with our paint chips. Then again......like Motorstorm, you can then apply stickers on top in various locations.

That's just how it comes off to me, but who knows. At the very least, we know there are livaries that can be applied to cars and they can be painted. How in depth that's going to go, who knows yet. But that alone is pretty good when combined with the thousands of body parts and rims. As long as it's all applicable to "standards" as well, which they pretty much said would be the case........the game's pretty much pure, hardcore car porn.

Not sure if posted yet but from playstation blog...

...It’s the largest program to date, especially since all 20 cars will have custom Gran Turismo livery enhancements only available through pre-order. You can also unlock each car in the game, but it won’t have the special visual & performance enhancements

Sounds like stealth cars. Im game for that.

So for the US, Does anyone know if we will get the anniversary edition with all the goodies? I really want the steelbook and would rather not go to gamestop to preorder.

I might not be seeing it, but details on the anniversary edition seem a little vague.

Oh I don't deny we'll have a livery editor in GT at some point, but the question is when? I expected it in GT5 only to be disappointed by it's absence. If it isn't in GT6, that means we'll have another good 2-4 year wait before we might see it on a PS4 GT title. All the while various other racing games continue to improve and evolve their already-existing livery editors.

PD have been applying their own liveries to their 3D models since GT1, it means nothing towards us being able to do it in game.

My understanding is that the Anniversary Edition will be available everywhere.
Also, that the Anniversary Edition is the only GT6 that will come with the 1 million credits and the 20 additional cars.

All pre-ordered GT6 will have the four car pack.

The Amazon and Gamestop deals are upgrades to the standard game. So I assume that if I order the Anniversary Edition from these two outlets I will only gain the four car pack , as the cars and credits are already part of the Anniversary pack.

Agreed?

I'm sorry but didn't you listed the entire GT5 DLC just now?

Just emailed dutch retailer Bart Smit and they replyed that they are not sure yet if they will sell the Anniversary Edition... I also asked this on dutch Playstation Facebook (they shared the announcement from the blog) and they replyed that it will take some time for the edition to be available at retailers but they did not mention it not being available so I guess we just have to wait for retailers to put the product on their websites.
