Well done PD you took something great and ruined it, They went ahead and modelled what is an iconic car, Yet due to whatever reason it is they change the livery on it, Now I'm sorry but if your going to do that then why not just model a generic F1 car and change the livery 10 times and have whole new cars, The point I'm getting at here is well its just not the car Senna drove, At the time tobacco sponsorship was at its prime and well if your not going to do something 100% don't do it at all, I'm sure its modelled beautifully but its not Ayton Senna's Lotus because it isnt true to the original, I know lets take A current McLaren F1 car and change the livery so it resembles a Mercedes instead, See my point.

As I say for whatever reason they change the livery its still not original hence not even a car he actually drove.
 
OMFG baby, Lotus 97T!!! Woah, stand back, John! I mean, we have no other 80's F1 cars so why in the world would they give us Senna's car? To race against 16 iterations of the same car? I'm getting less and less excited for this update. I'd much rather see some of the latest road cars.

Except while you're sitting here complaining about that, Tobacco Sponsorship isn't allowed in games (same goes for beer/alcohol sponsors) so they had to change it. Its the same reason we don't have "Silk Cut" on the Jaguar or "Martini" on the Lancias.

Tobacco sponsorship is illegal in a lot of countries, certainly here in the UK so it would have been impossible to have the original livery.

It's tobacco advertising, something that you can't put on everything like you could on 80's. If they do put JPS in the game, they would be enforced to change the ratings of the game to a more mature audience, which wouldn't do any good to a product rated for Everyone.

If Everyone buys it, more kids get to school, so Senna himself would approve.
 
Still no actual announcement from PD about what the content will actually be! That was just announcing the announcement.

Think we can be fairly confident the Lotus 97T will feature though. His McLaren overalls you can buy in-game suggest maybe we'll get another car.

Tobacco advertising is actually illegal in most countries now, so they couldn't do it even if they wanted.
 
No they didn't have to change it, They just simply shouldn't have bothered, The fact is it is not 100% historically correct, Something which PD seem to pride themselves on, My problem is the fact that it isn't historically correct, Lets be blunt here if people want to suggest that it is Ayrton Senna's car they are welcome to that opinion but you know something funny its as much the same car Elio de Angelis drove yet they say not a dickie bird about him now do they.

It is not the car Senna drove therefore its taking the mickey to suggest as much.

Yes it is.

It did run with this livery in every country that banned tobacco sponsorship. The same can be said of every other car that had tobacco sponsorship. They all had special livery for these races.

Again it is a really cool content BUT again it's a PD marketing trick ! I mean where are the community features,

The Senna update is a kind a "Bonus" not at all what we really want IMO.
 
It's nice and all, but remember one thing: It is May now, and we haven't received the February update yet. Chances of we getting the Senna update this month are as good as any of us racing on the next F1 race.
