It's the same for when I use the pad but I know there is a few changes in setups you can make between the two.

If I use negative toe on my Chaser, it gets all shakey and unpredictable, I can't stand it. As for starting a drift, I don't have any problems getting it going. Maybe its just completely different set-ups? I don't know?

Ill be on in a while to try it.
Now that I think about it, I have a bit of trouble at high speeds. I thought it was just my spoiler? maybe it is the toe?? Low speed I have no problems tho..

As I obviously don't know front toe that well, I do know that the more rear toe you use, the more unstable it is at high speed.

Makes sense, considering the fact I use stock toe in the rear xD

PS: The craziest thing happened to me last night. I was looking at a street light across the way from my house. Next thing you know its like "BOOOOOM!!!!" The thing blows right up while I'm looking at it. I thought I was going to have to go to the hospital and get my eyes checked out because I was seeing spots. Thankfully, they went away.

While drifting in GT5

Positive front TOE (TOE in)
The steering because more sluggish and the car isn't as easy to point in a particular direction giving a lazy feeling and increasing oversteer.

Negative front TOE (TOE out)
The steering becomes more active feeling allowing you to point the car a lot easier and gives a better feeling.

Positive rear TOE (TOE in).
I can't be too sure, but I do believe it gives the rear more stability (Only 1 i am unsure of)

Negative Rear TOE (TOE out).
Increases the chance of oversteer, it free's up the rear end.

You sure that's right? Its the exact opposite to me.

100% sure.

I'm also using real world knowledge (Not often applied to GT5 I know!)

I know it's not drifting, but just go loot at the stock setup on the Ferrari F1 cars. Major Negative TOE front (Better turn in), Major Positive TOE rear (Lots of grip to hold the power)

I am giving a more detailed explanation in a few minutes but waiting to upload video to go along with example

How I feel:

Positive front TOE (TOE in)
Steering is a little less responsive which requires more on the drivers part but is based off of driving style and doesn't really induce any immediate oversteer or understeer. However, it does make the car a little more twitchy. Makes transitions slower for most cars. (Lets you front tires last longer which over time will cause oversteer)(Also regarding steering makes your drifting look less smooth)

Negative front TOE (TOE out)
The steering becomes more active feeling allowing you to point the car a lot easier and gives a better feeling. Induces immediate oversteer. Depending on the amount and the combination of the right amount of toe, negative front toe can make transitions much faster thus causing a faster drift car. (Makes the car a little less stable which is where other tuning needs to come into play)

FOR THE RECORD, ANY REAR TOE MAKES YOUR CAR WAN'T TO STRAIGHTEN OUT IN GT5

Positive rear TOE (TOE in).
More stable rear but it causes understeer at all times. Will help with angle but slows down your car and can cause unexpected loss of angle if LSD and transmission are not there to back it up. Also based on spring and anti-roll bar settings. (Used it before the 2.00 update but with the new 2.04 physics the understeer has a more noticeable feeling)

Negative Rear TOE (TOE out).
Increases the chance of oversteer, it free's up the rear end, but if used excessively can cause your car to wan't to take turns wide and end up slowing it down rather than speeding it up.

My Toe, how it fits my style of drifting, and why:

My Toe:

Usually around: -0.30 to -0.10 in the front
-0.20 to -0.08 in the rear
(I never use more negative toe in the rear because it causes the car to want to take the turn's wide as stated above. It also causes random spurts of oversteer and can be unstable on transitions.)

How this toe fits my style of drifting:

I use to tune for competitions but then I figured out that when I play games I am 80% show, 10% seriousness, and 10% whatever. Thus I want to look smooth and in control when I drift. It makes me feel good and side and provides for nice replays.

Why it does this:

(This is stated above but I will summarize it up.) Controlled oversteer is never bad when it comes to drifting. Thus I tune for controlled oversteer which allows me to use throttle control plus slight inputs to look as smooth as possible. It puts on a show for the viewers, gives the follower an easy line to take, and allows me to get massive angle.

I'M THE CAR LEADING
0:00-4:22 for the replay view
4:22-End for the follow view (THE MOST IMPORTANT VIEW TO SEE) (The follower's hood view :D)

ALSO DON'T FORGET TO WATCH IN 720p

EDIT: SH** SORRY I WENT TO GO UPLOAD THE VIDEO AND WHILE I WAS WAITING FOR IT TO FINISH I POSTED IN THIS THREAD, SORRY DIDN'T MEAN TO DOUBLE POST :scared:

im not sayin any1 isnt right but just changin toe settings dont have the immediate change in handling that the descriptions are sayin. My point being u need to find a balance of all settings to get a change big enough to feel such profound differences like ur describing. i.e cars with different weight balances will react differently to the exact same toe settings or any other settings for that matter. Descriptions r mostly describing change in handling on a car with 50/50 weight balance.

I don't like positive toe anymore, it makes most of my cars twitchy. I use either negative toe, or no toe at all..

I'm describing the effects that should be brought into play pretty much in it's simplest form. I really can't be bothered going all in depth and describing how things change what and blah blah..

You kind of said all of us were wrong and actually negative toe does cause immediate changes :/. Don't believe me ask lukas, Jn, or even B.

I did a bunch of testing yesterday, it did have an immediate effect.

Easier to say, to have the desired effect as a whole the car needs to be tuned entirely, not just tune the TOE settings.

I did toe testing all day with the same tune I normally run. It really did make a huge difference on how my chaser was handling. I went from positive to negative in the front and back, It was like day and night.

Yeah but the rest of the car is tuned also though, that's what I mean!

Not necessarily. Toe can make or break a tune. :/ I have a method that someone taught me where I can do nothing more than drop the car and tune the toe and it works like a BOSS

Ohh, okay. My fault, I thought you were just talking about toe. :dunce: Yeah your right, you can't just tune the toe and expect it to work. 👍 Maybe on some, but not all of them.

So the suspension could be stiff as a hard on or soft as a floppy and you'd still be happy?
