    Gear Ration:

Easy and fast methods for better gear ratio:
    Rotary Junkie:
Best way to get your ratios as close as possible while still being able to have a high top speed is as follows:
Final drive to max (5.000-6.000 depending on car), autoset/top speed to minimum. Make top gear as short as possible, first gear as long as possible. Space other gears evenly. Set final drive so that your top speed is something reasonable.
Result? First gear is extremely long, tight spacing for the rest. This works exceedingly well with higher power FWD and RWD cars; AWD will need a shorter 1st gear to launch properly.

    Adrenaline:
Set the Auto Top Speed to the lowest possible, usually 124mph I think?
Then set your Final drive to the lowest (numerically) possible, usually 2.000.
This will give you really close gearing in the transmission, with a top speed around 204mph usually.

You can remove this "How do I tune the transmission in the right way?", because that information in the thread doesnt provide anything. I recomend "The definitive Gt5 transmission tuning guide" regarding transmission tuning instead :).

I paid attention and downloaded it, but it's strange!
    Your basic setting is 8/35/5???

The problem is you don't give enough information how to handle this calc.
Especially driving style is a mysterious for me.....

    For RWD, yes.

I've tried to explain it as well as I can for the time being but I want to do more testing on it... To do that I need a working PS3, however. I know I'll eventually be able to have it spit out reliably decent numbers for all drivetrains though.

I updated with the links you posted and rearranged it a bit...

@ Adrenaline: the oversteer/understeer guide is the same as you find in the Suspension Tuning Guide

Do you think it is needed to know which cars are RM-able? It hasn't to do a lot with how to tune. And if so then there are a lot more things that can be added... Car lists, track maps, car classes...

Huh?! I'm not sure where you got the info for this statement or how you decided to put it together. Regardless, the second post I made is the link to his tranny tuning sheet, which is not a part of his quick tune app.

Ah, sorry about that, on my phone it just took me back to his quick tune app.

Edit: And I see now I quoted the wrong post. Fixed it.

It's in his same thread, but an independent program he created.
The link is a direct link to the specific post with the downloadable link.

Nah! It's not a solution to bump it the whole time. A useful thread should be sticky, but I think the problem is that not many people seem to be interested.

But it would still be the easiest way to find something about tuning and people wouldn't have to create new threads on topics that are already dicussed to an extend...

Send a message to a Moderator. You need to talk to them about making it sticky.

Well, it is sticky now! Great! If anyone sees a thread that should be in here, go on and tell me! Haven't updated in a while and don't remember if there was anything important or helpful...

if someone can't get a tune worked out the either don't want to put in the time or then they are illiterate

    awesome work!!
if it was done correctly haha
haven't checked it out yet but i sure hope it is

are these the straight up RULES THAT SHOULD BE FOLLOWED or are there exceptions to your tuning tree?

    just checking
